The best mountain hip camp
Staying at Sacred Nectar Sanctuary was good for our souls. The land is so beautiful and well cared for. The camping spots are well layed out to give you space to be able to enjoy the outdoors without having camping neighbors right next to you. Even the outhouses are charming and clean.
And the signs all around the property will surely put a smile on your face. Itâs enchanting.
We stayed at site #5 which was so scenic and peaceful itâs hard to even do it justice with words. Between the mountain viewâs, watching the sun dip down across them, and then afternoon light turning to night sky when the fireflies come out- you couldnât dream up a better spot.
There was a picnic table, stumps around the fire pit to sit on/put your feet up on, and a great area with beautiful tall trees to leave our hammock.
This should be a stop on every campers bucket list who loves nature and appreciates taking care of our earth. This will be on our list to re-visit again and again over the years.
Nick and the hosts were so gracious and friendly. We loved saying hello to the dogs we met at the main house too. Donât miss their recommendation to check out the local ice cream spot. It is cash only and the most delicious- hands down- Maple Walnut Ice Cream in the world.
We were sad to go but grateful to have been given a chance to share in the beauty of Sacred Nature Sanctuary. Thank you Nick!!

Past trips
Off Grid A-Frame Cabin by The Pond
in Upper Shire Campsites Hudson Valley, New YorkGirls weekend getaway
The A-frame at Uppershire proved to be the perfect place for our annual girl's trip. Doing yoga by the pond in the morning, exploring the many nearby hiking spots during the day and dessert in the Adirondack chairs by the fire at night, while listening to the croaking frogs, were among the highlights of our trip. The comfort of staying dry during the heavy rain and listening to the soft noise of the fan powered by the Jackery, coupled with the beauty of nature was the perfect combination when looking for a getaway without the extra work of tent camping. Joanna replied quickly to questions, was very attentive to any needs and had fantastic recommendations for nearby things to do! We cannot wait to come back!
Pondside Meadow

My husband and I loved our stay at Joannaâs pond side campsite. We were so delighted to find not only beautiful Adirondack Chairs but also super comfortable hammocks waiting for us pond-side.
The site itself was so very beautiful. There was a porta-potty not too far away and beautiful globe lights as well.
Joanna was very helpful providing suggestions for some great local spots to check out and clear with directions on how to get to the site. She was also super quick to respond when we asked questions.
We would definitely stay again and hope to visit Joannaâs Hip Camp sites again soon. Thank you Joanna for having us and sharing your beautiful property.
PS- great place to camp if you are going to Tanglewood. Only a half an hour drive and we saw three deer on the way.

in Otter River State Forest, Massachusetts
This is a family favorite that my grandparents used to go to. Unfortuntetely due to run-off from a new construction site the swimming area was closed the last time we were there. Awesome Yurt Camping and Tent Camping. So peaceful and abundant wild blueberries to find and pick!
