in Cool Wooded Retreat, New YorkGreat place to camp and explore!
Highly recommend!! We had a good time exploring the fingerlakes and felt at ease knowing that our camper and our pup (Who wasn't allowed in the rental car) were in a safe place! Steve was very nice and accommodating! Thank you for everything!

Camille H.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
The campgrounds in Acadia were all booked so we were happy to see Nancy's site listed on hipcamp. We are traveling in a 20ft converted school bus and it was pretty tough getting it backed into the site so I would not recommend camping here if your rig needs space to make wide turns. We got set up and walked up to Charlottes Lobster Pound which you'll likely pass on your way in (delicious food!). We saw she said the beach was a 5 min walk away so we tried to catch the sunset. You can see the water from the end of her road so we walked down a couple streets that were in that direction but they were all private roads. I messaged Nacy for directions and she said to take a right out of the driveway so we went back past the site and walked to the right and... the road dead ends. By the time we figured out how to get to the beach, it was dark which was disappointing. Clearer instructions wouldve been helpful. For future reference, left out of your site, right at the end of the road, and it will be 1/4-1/2 mile down the road on your left. Signal is spotty there so I asked for the wifi password which she sent but the wifi name was not listed. She said she would check on it but I never heard back. Also, be aware that the platform is NOT very safe. It feels like you'll fall right through the middle and my boyfriend did actually fall off the end. Luckily, he's ok. I couldnt imagine if we had to sleep on there.
Past trip
in Cozy Trailer Mountain Setting, PennsylvaniaWe had to run to Pittsburgh last minute to pick up some equipment for my boyfriend's company. It was a 4 hr drive for us so we decided to make a weekend out of it and visit Ohiopyle! We were able to book this the night before and Jill was very quick in answering our question. Jill greeted us after we got settled and made sure we had everything we needed. There was a party going on next to the house that she did inform us about when we got there. We thought "no big deal" but they ended up being very loud all the way up until about 9/10 pm. Luckily, Jill said this was an annual event so it will most likely be nice and quiet for your stay. Just a heads up there is no tv and neither of our phones (Tmobile or AT&T) worked inside the house. We had to go outside to get a little bit of service which was a little difficult since my boyfriend had to be accessible for work. But if you're looking to unplug, this will be great for you!!
We would stay here again if we have an unplugged weekend off!
Thanks for everything Jill!

Site 3 - Big Trees and Steep Ravines
in Fred M.âs Land, New YorkBeautiful site but a bumpy ride.
Our stay last weekend at Fred and Freida's was great. Fred met us at the driveway and showed us to our site. He also brought us some firewood, gave us a map of the area and even offered tours. We said hi to Freida in passing as we left one day but otherwise didnt really get to meet or speak with her. We stayed at the site furthest out in the woods which was beautiful, relatively flat, and close to the pit toilet which was fairly clean. There are plenty of trails on the property that we had a great time exploring. The only suggestion I would have would be to level out the drive back to the site a little bit. It is a dirt path with lots of bumps and dips. Luckily i have AWD but my car got pretty beat up driving in and out of there everyday. Other than that, we had a great time!!
Camille hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
