Past trip
in Jillâs Mountain Farmstead, New MexicoGreat spot for private RV camping! Jillâs place is adorable and had a beautiful view of the mountains. We unfortunately happened to stay the week of the terrible wind storm that blow in from California and the gusting 60mph winds made things pretty scary for RV camping, but had there not been the wind, and some RV mechanical issues on our end we wouldâve stayed longer!

Big Star Views at the Bass Tank
in Big Stars Farm, TexasPerfect stop on a cross texas trek
Had RV trouble en route and didnât arrive until after 9pm. Samanthaâs husband was nice enough to meet us at the gate in the dark and escort us back to the campsite which we really appreciated after doing roadside RV repairs and an 8 hour road trip. Site was clean and well maintained and felt private. Our dogs are their fill of cow manure and the kids enjoyed running around the pond. Unfortunately we were there less than 12hrs because it was just a rest stop on our two day trek to NM, but despite being there so briefly weâd definitely come back and stay longer.
Past trip
in Divine Mercy Family Camp, TexasPerfect place for a quiet getaway!
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip! The hostâs instructions were spot on to navigate to the property and we had no trouble finding it after dark. The land is beautiful and was perfect for us to RV camp without other RVers BUT with water and electricity hookups and dump site! Our kids and dogs all had a blast. The fire pit was a nice feature as was the picnic table. There were for sure fire ant mounds on the property, but thatâs par for the course living in TX, and we really appreciated that the hosts took care to kill the mounds in the immediate camping area since one of our kids is terrified of them. As for the technical RV stuff, our 30ft class A had zero issues getting down the road into the property and there was ample room to 3-point turn when it was time for us to leave. We will for sure be back again, as having the entire place to ourselves with all those RV amenities was well worth the price paid!
Past trip
in Desert Solitude, TexasWeâve never been to the Marfa area and had always wanted to visit. Booked five nights for us, our three kids and three dogs in our 30ft RV. Got a late start and arrived to the property well past midnight and couldnât see a foot in front of our headlights but Steveâs directions to the campsite were so spot on that we just followed his instructions and easily found what wouldâve been impossible to locate. It was truly a magical surprise to wake up the next morning and see where we were! Lived in Texas a long time but have never seen anything so stunning in this state. Our RV was literally sitting in the middle of nowhere with an incredible view of the Mesa at sunrise. It was like being alone on Mars...but in a good way! The landscape is like nothing Iâve ever seen before, and we lucked out being there for the final Cold Moon for 2020 which felt like it took up half the sky and was stark white. Our first day was spent in beautiful 70 degree weather outside, and then the unimaginable happened, a massive snowstorm hit the area like nothing anyone has seen in the last 50 years. It was totally not on our radar, so we were snowed into our lumbering class A RV for 2 days. Despite the unexpected weather we still had a blast enjoying the snow, and our hosts checked in on us several times to make sure we were still ok and not destitute lol, which we greatly appreciated. Once the snow had melted some Steve was kind enough to use his big wheeled truck to guide us out to the main Highway ensuring our bread box on wheels didnât get stuck in the snow. All in all it was a fantastic adventure, weather and all, so we will definitely return again...just not if thereâs snow in the forecast! It was a great place for our kids to safely explore with easy supervision from our camp chairs, and for our one trustworthy dog to explore off leash (our other two dogs wouldâve bolted after critters if they werenât tethered at the campsite). Iâd definitely recommend this site if you want complete solitude, otherworldly landscapes, and incredible sunrises and sunsets.

Past trip
in 5D RANCH, TexasPerfect short weekend trip!
We were looking for a quick camping trip in our new RV but didnât want to drive too far outside Houston. This was the perfect spot. Easy to get to even in our 30 footer and had no issues with clearance. Loved having the table and fire ring at our site, a big tree to tie our dog to so she wouldnât run away lol, and being able to pre buy firewood was handy too. Having access to potable water hose and clean public bathroom was a perk! We will make another visit again.
