Site 4 field tent camping
in GramyBear Farm Rentals, ArkansasPretty spaces, friendly host!
This was a beautiful piece of land in a peaceful spot. Lots of space for everybody. Victoria was friendly and helpful. We had a great time during our visit.
If you drive something particularly close to the ground, it might be good to check in on the condition of the driveway/ground, but generally most vehicles will have no issue.
The Top Spot
in Camp Overland, ArizonaPretty and quiet spot that is very close and convenient to town. Picturesque views. Plenty of space for our car and tent. Very nice picnic table. Very clean toilet and wash station. We enjoyed our time at the Top Spot!

in Mexican Hat Rocks, UtahDRIVE to your site! Scenic camping!
in A Spark in the Dark Campground, ArizonaPerfect skies
Our stay at A Spark in the Dark Campground was awesome. We were really only looking for a convenient place to stay, but this was that and more.
Clifford was friendly in greeting us, presenting us the lay of the land and ways to communicate if necessary. While we did not see him again, he made us feel right at home.
We were the only group there that night so it was extremely quiet and peaceful. There were places with some fire pits and makeshift benches but we found a nice open spot where we could watch the sunset with tons of open sky. The sunset itself was incredible as was the the lightning we could see nearby. In the middle of the night, the milky way was bright and obvious. One of the best views of it I have ever seen!
In the important but less interesting details:
-bathroom was clean
-directions to the site were clear and easy
-the road in was dirt but in excellent condition
-close enough to the highway to be convenient but far away enough to not hear it (its moving lights in the distance were a pretty addition to the nighttime lights)
-I suppose if the camp was full, it might lose a little of its charm, but there seemed to be plenty of space, and the views would be spectacular nonetheless.
All in all, this was a great experience and would be a place I would be happy to revisit!
Peaceful Nature Tent Camping
in Extraordinary Views Nature River, CaliforniaPerfect summer weekend escape
We had a very pleasant stay at Aimee's place! The views, sounds, and peacefulness were a welcome getaway. Aimee was very helpful in informing us of options of where to go and what to do. There are several spots along the river a short walk/drive away that were great for cooling off and relaxing during the summertime.
We got in as it was approaching dark and Aimee was there to meet us and help us find a spot to set up. It was warm the weekend we were there so we set up camp under a large oak tree. Even though we knew other campers were there, we rarely saw them as they were around a small bend so if feels like you have the place all to yourself!
A few comments (not complaints, just things to be ready for): It is a short walk to the car but it is very loose dirt and you may need to go over a hill or right next to someone else's campsite to get to your spot ... so pack/plan accordingly! Also, depending on how many people are there, you might have similar issues getting to the bathrooms. But the bathroom itself was great, clean and fresh! Lastly, when we were there, the parking was a work in progress and a little chaotic. I expect it will be better soon.
Overall we had a great time camping here and would be happy to recommend this campsite! We loved that if felt further out of town than it actually was. We took short drives into Temecula, Fallbrook, Deluz and more.
We look forward to finding another chance to come back!
Secluded Desert Mountain Top
in O'Shun's Orchard, CaliforniaWe had a great time at Mikeâs Desert Oasis. A couple miles down a dirt road, the hilltop campsite provided phenomenal solitude and impressive panoramas. On the hilltop you are surrounded by the desert brush and cactus although there is plenty of room in the site to setup camp (although Iâd be careful keep dogs and children from wandering outside the site at all as the cholla are dense and let their spines fall to the ground). Itâs a steep but short walk up to the campsite from the restroom (super clean porta-potty) and parking spot. It was great that there was both a fire pit and picnic table at the site.
Sunrise was spectacular every morning and I enjoyed watching the light travel across the surrounding landscape. After that its a short drive into Anza Borrego for hiking, wildflowers, exploring, and 4wheeling. In our February visit it was chilly overnight but warmed up quickly during the day. At times it could be quite breezy, but when it was still, the silence was incredible.
Mike was friendly and very good about answering any questions we had as we prepared for our trip. He has created an excellent spot to escape the business of everyday life in a peaceful and beautiful setting.
I look forwards to coming back next time we stay in the area!
