in Pindari Park, South AustraliaThe views over the river are awesome. Camping on top of the cliff with a fire in the evening watching the view change as the sun set was fantastic. Sue is a lovely host who has taken pride in laying out the several hip campsites, there's even a larger area, Fyfes field for larger groups. Great place
Past trip
in Secluded exclusive river campsite, South AustraliaMurray River Retreat was awesome. It was great knowing we had secured a spot on the river for the long weekend. Michelle, the host, was fantastic and was great to communicate with through the booking process and during the stay. For caravans and camper trailers there is a large open flat piece of land to position yourself facing the river, although it is more of river glimpses through the trees and foliage if sitting by your van (if the tops of the shrubs were cut down the view would be great from top of bank). You can swag and take your chair down to the waters edge, where there is a fire pit but it would keep you fit running back to and fro. The pitch is quite exposed and we did have very strong winds over a long weekend so be prepared if its windy. The owners have planted a lot of young trees which when grown in a few years will provide some protection. The free range eggs were great and being able to purchase wood was another great way to reduce carrying weight on the trip. We did hire the generator too which again saved us weight not having to take ours. (Note: Add says fully fuelled but we had to purchase fuel). Overall a great dog-friendly pitch which is very close to all the amenities of Berri. We will definitely be back. Thanks Michelle.
