Past trip
in Blooming Bus Farms, MichiganWe just had the most amazing Labor Day Weekend here. Melissa and her husband were amazing hosts. They were there waiting for us to arrive after dark and even let us take our time and leave a couple hours late because the site was not booked for the day we left.
I like to compare Hip Camp spots to normal camp grounds and state parks. This was one of the best camp sites I've ever had. It was HUGE! And tucked away in a wooded area next to a sun flower field. Melissa added a private hot shower and composting toilet before our stay. It put this place over the top. And the picnic table pictured is even better than it looks.
The site was totally private. We didn't see any other campers. There is every kind of shopping and eating your need right around the corner. We noticed some street noise but not a big deal. Way better than having cars driving right by your site like in normal campgrounds.
I will be back for sure. We enjoyed it so much we barely left the campsite. Just spent lots of family time laughing and playing games. I highly recommend this spot. Next time we will bring more people to take advantage of all the space.
Past trip
in Mulln-Heim Vineyards, MichiganThis was our first time using Hipcamp and it was a great experience. This site was awesome! This is the original on the land and I think a little better than the other site he has available. But both are a thousand times better than staying at a State Park. And they are far enough away from each other you barely know anyone else is there.
The site had everything. It's huge and private. Tons of tree cover over the seating area. But wide open in the field to star gaze. Wood chips covering the ground was a nice touch. No mud when it rains. John has thought of everything. Personal clean porta potty. Cover to keep wood dry. (FYI buy your wood from John. It's a great price and burns nicely). Tiki torches with diesel provided. And the food prep station and bbq.
Book this place. John is a great host. You will love it.
Andrew hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
