I initially booked deck #1 but upon arrival I found deck #5 to have the best view of all sites so I reached out to John and asked if we could switch. Since we were the only party to book that day, he let us switch to deck #5. This campsite is truly stunning! The deck was solid and well built. The waterfall was an amazing feature, my kids (19 mos & 5 yrs) loved to play in it. The view from deck #5 is absolutely amazing! Seriously I wondered why this place isnât fully booked already. Loved the trail that leads to a treehouse. It was easy and short (about 20 mins one way), perfect for family with kids. John was responsive during our entire stay.
However, there are a few cons. The sites are quite close together, properly about 15-20ft apart. I imagine if it was fully booked, itâd be a little crowded. Electricity is very limited, it runs off of batteries so runs out quick. Water also doesnât seem very clean, it has a dark color to it, itâs properly rain water. We used a lot of wet wipes to clean ourselves instead of using the water.
Overall, extremely beautiful and clean campsites. It rivals some of the best state park campsites we have been to thatâs always fully booked months ahead. We would love to be back with friends! Easy 9 out of 10.

We loved our weekend stay at this site! The elevated platform was nice for our tent to keep off of the dirt. Waterfall was the best white noise for sleeping. Bathroom did the job and didnât smell bad. Electricity worked well. Treehouse was amazing! Another camper found an arrowhead, likely from the Squaw. Only drawback was the road to get to the site because it had rained and was muddy but my 2 wheel pickup had no issue. If a car canât use the road, you will just have to hoof it. Overall great campsite.

This was a beautiful and safe spot for my first solo camping trip. Very quiet spot and the waterfall is beautiful. So much to explore and see. I never left the property and still didnât see everything! Would highly recommend.

Great place to relax, the views are incredible. Itâs a huge plus to have access to a shower and electricity.
We went hiking and explored the property.
We even got to go fishing.

This was an amazing spot. Mostly private, only 5 spots total. The waterfall was beautiful and made amazing background noise. The family and I rarely visit the same spot twice, but we are all talking about coming back.

We camped here for a visit to Dinosaur State Park. Itâs a perfect option for that destination. The campground is peaceful and gorgeous, right next to the waterfall. My kids loved playing in the creek. Sleeping to the sound of the water - what a treat! The hike to the treehouse was a highlight of our trip, and John was such a gracious host.

Instructions to camp ground were easy to follow, John clearly explained how everything worked in an email leading up to our stay.

My family and I had a great time camping at deer creek. The river and waterfall were great for white noise and the kids loved playing and exploring in it. We had the whole place to ourselves so can't comment on how it would've been with other campers there. Every site was on the river except for 1 but it still had a view of river. Didn't use the electricity but the girls liked having the toilet close by. The place was secluded and exactly what we were looking fir.

We really enjoyed the campsite! Beautiful trees, and the sound of the waterfall at night was so relaxing! My toddler loved exploring the waterfall and trying to catch frogs! The treehouse was so cool! So glad to have a restroom and electricity

We loved our stay at DeerCreek. Definitely recommend campsite #4 if youâre looking for a large space and a beautiful view of the creek. Plenty of shade from the sun and we even saw some deer wandering in the water from our site! The bathhouse is an added plus and is accessible to all sites. You have access to electricity, but I recommend battery powered things to help save on his electricity. Loved this camp and would absolutely come back. Thanks John!

We loved staying here! The campsite had a view of a waterfall that we were able to go in to cool off. The sound of the water also was great to fall asleep to. The bathhouse was clean and smell free, (fyi no hot water in the showers). The site also had a fire ring and little charcoal stove! We will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area!

We came down to watch the eclipse and Johnâs beautiful campsites were the perfect place. The view of the creek and waterfalls was amazing, the individual sites were clean & level, and the on-site bathroom, while basic, was also clean and cozy. We rented two sites together, 1 & 2, and even though half of our party dropped out of the trip last minute, we kept both of them. Our tent/yurt (16â dia) was too big for the rather large platform at site 1, but we fit into site 2. The sites are close together in general, but we were one of only 2 groups the first night and
