I was welcomed by friendly goats and lil pig. Since, it was a thanksgiving day - I only saw three people in the area. Our tent was superb! Perfect spot for our camping but unfortunately we have to leave after 3 hours of stay coz my son has an anxiety attack. He just got tired from our previous camp (this is actually our second spot). I believe we need to come back here again soon and explore the area. The communication w the host was great. All the instructions were given clearly and the suggested trail to explore. We really need to come back here again soon.

High Hopes Ranch is magical. What a beautiful piece of land not far from DFW. For someone who loves camping, hiking, getting into nature, and the mountains, this was such a lovely spot in Texas. The landscape was so amazing and the hiking trails provided much terrain and a bit of elevation. The Star Pad was incredible and enchanting. Stunning views. True Texas beauty ❤️

I came here in late July for the dark skies/meteor shower and a night of primitive camping. The night skies were spectacular, and the view of the Milky Way was amazing, even with the moon about 1/3 full! The hosts said I could set up camp anywhere and suggested a couple of spots, so I explored their trails for a few minutes until I found an ideal campsite in a cedar grove a few feet off the trail. I tried to leave it better than I found it, but this property was already really clean when I arrived. They had a clean bathroom available for campers with a flushing composting toilet, running water, soap, hand washing sink, paper towels and a solar shower stall... all a bit more than I had expected for "primitive camping". Hope to return again during the fall color and wildflower bloom seasons. This place has a very peaceful feel. They had a few pastures and stables with some of the happiest looking goats, pigs and chickens I've seen.

Gorgeous ranch. Beautiful scenery. Loved the animals and the gardens. Easy instructions and great primitive campsites set up. Can’t recommend enough and will be back!
We had a great time camping at the Star Pad. We brought a telescope and had great views. It is on a huge property with lots of trails to explore during the day. The owners were very friendly and let us feed some of the animals. We also enjoyed being able to purchase a few items from the farm store to bring home with us. Would recommend.

This property is exquisite! It was like a postcard! The campsite was very private and quiet. We saw a fox, bobcat, bobcat cub and an armadillo. And those were just the wild animals! Interacting with the farm animals was a highlight! The caretakers of this property are very passionate about it and it is so evident. They were all genuinely friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back to visit!
This was a beautiful campsite with awesome primitive camping! It was so cool seeing all the farm animals, and the stargazing pad is awesome! I will definitely be coming back!
We did the primitive camping site and loved it! Grassy, wild flowers in bloom, and a good bit of privacy! We didn’t have a chance to hike a lot, but we will definitely take a longer trip next time to explore the ranch!
The farm animals are a lot of fun to watch.
The stargazer pad is too cool! Will definitely book that next time, especially if it’s more than just the two of us!
The owners were very kind and responsive!

Great place to knock off the winter rust. Hosts super friendly. Trails are marked well. They range from pastures to wooded drainage. They said it was the most people they’ve had at one time, saw one group of kids and a few people on horseback (remember to be respectful to the horses. Some are on a trail for the first time) I hiked in but it looks like most sites are drive in. Bring fishing pole.

Great place to stay. Excellent example of central texas ecosystems.
Was an absolute joy. If you're not in an RV, I highly recommend staying here instead of Dinosaur Valley State Park. It's way more remote and the views are stunning. A beautiful property with so many trails to explore. It was so nice how quiet it was.

The host made sure I had everything I needed to have a successful trip. The location couldn’t have been better. It was nice being so close to dinosaur valley and fossil rim. I didn’t want to be in an RV environment, so the primitive camp site was perfect for me.
Beautiful land! Great check in experience, LOVED all the animals, tent spots were nice, goat cave and sunset peak was a lovely way to end the day!

We enjoyed the time at High Hope Ranch! The store is adorable, the hosts were responsive and helpful, the animals were the cutest, the land and location are beautiful, and excellent signal throughout our trip.

We had a great experience at the high hope ranch. Our daughter loved seeing all the pigs and goats in the morning. Sites are spaced out well and we’re quiet. We will definitely be back!
We did primitive camping with four kids, two of them toddlers. We had the best time! Rain was in the forecast for the first night and we didn't plan to spend that night, but our host pointed out a sheltered area and we did stay, and kept the kids dry. The older kids practiced map reading, trail finding, camp craft and we all generally had a great time. There is so much to see! We didn't see it all. It's way better then a state park with interesting yard art scattered throughout and a private, secluded feel to the area. We also enjoyed the farm animals. It was an all around good trip with us all unplugged and outside. It seamed like we were much further from home then we were, without the long drive. Definitely coming back to this gem!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hiking trails were very nice and we saw a lot of good scenery. Would definitely go again.
Brandy is fantastic! She was very accommodating. The views everywhere we went were incredible, we loved the goats and chickens and pigs and the donkey. We did primitive camping, but they also offer cabins. They do have a nice bathroom for those staying in tents. They also have a really cute gift shop at the check-in office. The property is huge, the sunsets and stars were mesmerizing, and we can’t wait to go back. 10/10

Beautiful ranch with some great views at the star deck
We stayed in stone circle which was so cool! It felt so secluded and private it was awesome. It was a clear night and the area was perfect for stargazing since there’s a big clearing and no big trees. Absolutely perfect! Hiked around the property the next morning and got to see some cool stuff, really great property! Staff was super hospitable and the farm store up front is adorable!

Peaceful and not too far from the city! Host was helpful, lots of space to camp.
We had a perfect spot that the host designated for us - adults and children. In October, we tented it...And had no critter or bug issues at night. Highlights: Interest points can be driven to, beautiful and majestic scenic views from all around, farm, and shop. We all enjoyed it as a short get away from Dallas. We will be back!

Contacting our host was SO easy. Site was spotless, amenities were great and the view from the Starpad was phenomenal. The hiking trails were clearly marked and well maintained. We will definitely be coming back and will recommend this place to everyone!

We loved exploring the ranch. The country store was cute and everyone was super nice. The spot we had was good for car camping and was near a pen of goats and pigs. We hiked about 8 miles and saw the goat cave and twin falls. Popeye (one of the dogs) tagged along for a bit.
