Too Many Oaks is a perfect mix of nice and quiet but still close to town. Also just in Synchronous fireflies, which are fireflies that gather and flash their lights at the same time as part of a mating ritual, are expected to light up the Congaree National Park in May. It is a train lover's dream because we are close to the tracks and enjoy watching the train come and go so much so that the conductor toots and waves to us!! The Santee State Park has many water activities, picnic areas, and hiking trails. There are several golf courses nearby, and a local restaurant/bar within walking distance which often offers trivia, karaoke, pool tables, and live music. Although I prefer private spots and not RV parks, this spot was pretty nice! An RV park but not ahuge one with 8 jillion people everywhere, this was limited, pretty spacious and well laid out. The farm area was fantastic and very kid friendly with all different kinds of animals. Well set off of the road but easily accessable. Easy hookups, adequate garbage disposal, easy to navigate in and out. The back roads are bike friendly if you plan on riding. All in all a nice place to take the family or in my case just relax.

Weekend Trip to Camp at The Farm - Outside Inn

Camping in a Peaceful spot, under the stars, critters to feed, walk along side and pet, awesome shower and bathroom facilities, knowledgeable hosts and personnel, playground for the littles, walking trails, easy in and out, new fire rings, cute camp store. We had a great weekend get away. Obvious to us - many stay longer to enjoy the amenities of this location. The farm animals are a delight. We had our 3 GRANDchildren with us - all under 3 years of age. The goats, bunnies, chickens, fresh eggs, donkey, cows, pigs and water fowl were a delight to feed and touch some. The staff were great about sharing their knowledge. We have all agreed to return.

With several RV sites, and more to come, a Yurt and soon to be 3 insulated geodesic dome cabins, you'll think you're in a high end camping resort at Black Pearl Farms. While really you're in the middle of a working berry farm. I stayed for a week in the winter so I didn't get to experience the farm in working order. But I can imagine looking out my window at rows and rows of blueberries and lavender. And just a mile or so down the country road is the upper Edisto River, ripe for kayaking and exploring. I can't say enough about the hosts here. They welcomed me on the road coming in, they checked on me during my stay. And they're building the place on their own. I appreciate hard work especially when it creates a place that's going to be a gem to visit, not that it isn't already! So, if your heading north or south, or even east or west, look for Black Pearl Farms in South Carolina. You'll be glad you did.

Barnwell Campground

Barnwell is our "goto" park. We love it there. The lakes are fun, and the dam is great to just sit and watch. We watch the wildlife and take lots of pictures. The surrounding towns supply great food and places to see as well. It's close to our church in Olar so it's also very convienent.
