We're about 10-15 minutes' drive away from downtown Asheville and a $12-$15 Uber ride. Unfortunately, public transportation is not very accessible from the campground.
*FAQ: Is this a good spot to bring my kiddos?
Our campground is not equipped to handle the magical, whirlwind force that children release unto the world. There's a lot of breakable stuff, tempting treehouses (that might be occupied by other guests!), sites that are within earshot of each other, and hazards that aren't a good fit for kids.
WHAT'S NEARBY?
- There are approximately a bajillion breweries in Asheville, many of which are within 5-15 minutes away.
- Downtown Asheville (~10-15 minutes), West Asheville (~5-10 minutes) and the River Arts District (~5 minutes)
-Hiking! Waterfalls, mountain-top views, fog-drenched valleys, rambling rivers... There are some trails about 20 minutes away, but to get to the good stuff, you'll drive 40-90+ minutes.

Bald Eagles have been seen on April 27th, 2026! The views are hypnotic, looking down and out over the continental divide. Good morning, and sunsets can be seen from the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck, so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some are two-thirds, and some are one-third, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck features sun and rain curtains to help keep you comfortable in both sunny and rainy weather. Dogs enjoy a two-gate system that allows guests and dogs to be leash-free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned frequently. Lights and electrical outlets are 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets, fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low-level string lights, so one can see the night sky. PMany of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, a fickle solar shower, and a pop-up changing room, along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial. I provide various-size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away, and All Trails is an excellent app for finding trails suited for your interests. Be respectful, please.
Private Glamping Decks with a view that pictures do not do justice. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well-socialized dogs. Help me keep it dog-friendly. Never block the road with a park car.

Life on the Farm:
In our 2-acre production field, you're welcome to wander through carefully tended rows of flowers, vegetables, and herbs. We follow organic practices and regenerative, no-till methods and are eager to share our knowledge with fellow enthusiastic growers. A ½-acre native pollinator planting attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial creatures all season long. Enjoy the mist on the mountains as you sip your morning tea surrounded by blooming snapdragons, marigolds, and cosmos.
Wildlife and Nature:
Search for frog eggs and baby ducks among the cattails in the swamp.
Differentiate dozens of bird species along forest paths. Scan the river for kingfishers and spawning bass. Cast a line for catfish in the pond (just be alert for turtles!).
Our Story:
We've been growing here since 2021 on a rented acre. After the property was heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene, we took a leap of faith and officially purchased the parcel in early 2026.
Today, visitors can witness the inspiring, resilient restoration efforts of both humans and nature at work—live stakes, riparian plantings, abundant birdlife, and flourishing new growth!
Bear Safety and Location:
We live in Black Bear country, and require responsible behavior from our guests. Keep all food locked in your vehicle or bear-safe container. Never feed or approach a bear. Detailed tips on bear safety from the National Park Service provided prior to arrival.

This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest.
Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash.
Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is required. Message us with any questions.
Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded.
Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability.
Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards.

Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field.
You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option.
Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper and lower meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River.
Four-wheel drive is needed during rainy weather.

This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company.
You can follow signs in the driveway.

The electrical service is 110 at both sites. There is a spickot with a water hose at shady side And a water hose at mountain view. There is also a faucet in the large wash basin sink at the outhouse. The outdoor shower has a small, electric hot water tank that connects to the shower head.
Once you arrive at my address... It can be a little tricky. I have 2 driveway entrances. The first entrance that you come to, is the one that is used for hip campers. There is a sign that says"Rocky Top". This is a gravel drive. This drive is a little steep. You just want to make sure that once you start up, you keep going and don't stop until you reach the top. If for some reason you pass that entrance, or you don't feel comfortable going up that drive, feel free to use the asphalt drive. Once you reach the top of the Hill, everything starts leveling out. You will see a barn on your right and a shed on your left, just continue on the gravel Road, shady side will be the first one you come to on your left. Continue on and you will pass the outhouse on your right and then you will see mountain view straight across from the outhouse.

This 5-acre parcel was part of a larger 17-acre tract/cow pasture that was for sale in the spring of 2017. We had moved to this beautiful quiet country road the year before after spending 15 years in the hustle and bustle of West Asheville. When our neighbor put the land up for sale, we jumped at the chance to protect our view (we live across the street) and own another piece of the heaven we have come to call home. This land has a creek running through it, and is in a quiet, rural, residential area that is a mix of newcomers and families who have lived here for generations. The property has a secluded feel to it while being very conveniently located to the wonderful hiking, mountain biking, and trout fishing this area is famous for. We’re also very close to cycle shops, outfitters, groceries, restaurants, etc. We love it here and are excited to develop our plan for this space. We hope you will love it here too.

This place was amazing! This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was a wild one. A storm came through and lightning struck the tree behind our tent we were sheltering in and sent exploding tree shrapnel everywhere. Luckily we were fine and so was our gear. We relocated our tent and had a blast the rest of the trip. They had PLENTY of firewood. The tree swing was the perfect entertainment for my 4 year old in between exploring the river. We explored around the farm fields which felt unique. Workers came for a couple hours at some point which involves a lot of trucks. My kid loved watching all the action! Other than that, totally private, and the workers couldn’t have been nicer.

We had a great stay at Mountain View! The campsite felt very private and had way more amenities than we expected. Having electricity and water right at the site was great, and they also had a sink for washing pots and pans, a fire pit, real toilet, shower, and even a pool with an awesome view.
Check-in was really easy. We didn’t have much interaction with the hosts, but we ran into them the next day and they were very friendly. There’s also some really nice hiking nearby.
One thing we really appreciated was how much was already provided at the site. They had chairs, tables, pop-up tents/umbrellas, and other things you’d normally have to pack yourself, so you really don’t need to bring a ton of camping equipment.
My wife and I stayed with our two dogs and our cat, and it was a great setup for all of us. We’d definitely stay here again!

It’s a beautiful area! Sadly, we were inundated with storms off and on the whole weekend so we didn’t get to enjoy the river access. We stayed in the upper meadow and it was large and spacious for our dogs to run around. You definitely need 4-wheel drive getting in and out when it’s wet, but we managed just fine. The outhouses are not very glamorous, but it was nice that each site essentially has its own port-a-potty. 10/10 would stay here again.

This hipcamp was awesome! There were awesome views and trails, and the lodge was comfy to ride out a storm in. The hot tub was so relaxing, especially with the lovely mountain view. We were able to fit a small tent and backpacking tent on our site. There was a bit of a slope, but a yoga mat helped keep my sleeping pad from sliding. We'd definitely like to stay again.

Awesome site! Really lovely right on the river, plenty of space. Great picnic table and fire pit. Super level and we had zero problems accessing the site. Patrick was super responsive too!
The one teeny note we had was we were a little surprised about the road noise but it quieted down and definitely didn’t keep us up or anything. It feels so remote so it was a little surprising!
