Sleep under the stars while listening to the river run while staying on a working farm! During the summer months watch our vegetables grow and the pickers pick! The winter months you'll enjoy a sea of green as our cover crop takes over the field.
You can cool off in the river or check out the surrounding Pisgah National Forest. Dogs on leashes are welcome and owner is responsible for cleaning up after pet.
The farm provides a portable toilet but no other amenities. Campfires may be restricted, so check local regulations. This is a working farm, so please be respectful of the crops and workers and keep dogs on leashes. Fishing is NOT allowed on the river unless you have booked a trip with one of our guides. Please note, if it’s rainy the roads will be muddy and 4-wheel-drive vehicles are the best option.
Head 4 miles east to the town of Mills River for restaurants, stores, and services. You can find hiking, biking, and horseback-riding trails within a short bike or car ride in Pisgah National Forest. Chimney Rock State Park is 25 miles east and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Or perhaps go for a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Bald Eagles have been seen on April 27th, 2026! The views are hypnotic, looking down and out over the continental divide. Good morning, and sunsets can be seen from the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck, so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some are two-thirds, and some are one-third, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck features sun and rain curtains to help keep you comfortable in both sunny and rainy weather. Dogs enjoy a two-gate system that allows guests and dogs to be leash-free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned frequently. Lights and electrical outlets are 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets, fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low-level string lights, so one can see the night sky. PMany of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, a fickle solar shower, and a pop-up changing room, along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial. I provide various-size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away, and All Trails is an excellent app for finding trails suited for your interests. Be respectful, please.
Private Glamping Decks with a view that pictures do not do justice. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well-socialized dogs. Help me keep it dog-friendly. Never block the road with a park car.

In our 2-acre production field, you are welcome to wander through carefully tended rows of flowers, vegetables and herbs. We follow organic practices and regenerative, no-till methods, and are eager to share with other enthusiastic growers. We also maintain a ½ acre native pollinator planting that attracts butterflies, hummingbirds and other beneficial creatures all season long.
The 6+ acre property contains multiple rich habitats for nature lovers and ecological explorers, nestled in a fertile river valley along the Swannanoa River. Search for frog eggs and baby ducks among the cattails in the swamp. Differentiate dozens of bird species along forest paths. Scan the river for kingfishers and spawning bass. Cast a line for catfish in the pond (just be alert for turtles!).
We've been growing here since 2020 on a rented acre. After the property was heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene, we took a leap of faith and officially purchased the parcel in early 2026. Today, visitors can witness the inspiring, resilient restoration efforts of humans and nature at work - live stakes, riparian plantings, abundant bird life, and abundant new growth!
Our location offers convenient access to Swannanoa, Black Mountain, and Asheville.

We're about 10-15 minutes' drive away from downtown Asheville and a $12-$15 Uber ride. Unfortunately, public transportation is not very accessible from the campground.
*FAQ: Is this a good spot to bring my kiddos?
Our campground is not equipped to handle the magical, whirlwind force that children release unto the world. There's a lot of breakable stuff, tempting treehouses (that might be occupied by other guests!), sites that are within earshot of each other, and hazards that aren't a good fit for kids.
WHAT'S NEARBY?
- There are approximately a bajillion breweries in Asheville, many of which are within 5-15 minutes away.
- Downtown Asheville (~10-15 minutes), West Asheville (~5-10 minutes) and the River Arts District (~5 minutes)
-Hiking! Waterfalls, mountain-top views, fog-drenched valleys, rambling rivers... There are some trails about 20 minutes away, but to get to the good stuff, you'll drive 40-90+ minutes.

This property is situated on 50 acres, surrounded by private property with views of the nearby Pisgah National Forest and a 10 minute drive to DuPont State Forest.
Campsites are adjacent to the French Broad River. Excellent fishing and boating. It is heavily populated by deer and other wildlife. For this reason, dogs must be kept on a leash.
Please note that due to the campground being in low-lying land, the drive in is subject to being slick and muddy, 4WD is required. Message us with any questions.
Due to the property proximity to the river and situated in floodway, the sites are subject to flooding during heavy rain events. Voluntary and/or mandatory evacuation may be necessary during any reservation due to high waters or forecast for high water events. If evacuation is necessary, unused portions of reservation will be refunded.
Campers are advised to be self-sufficient with water and shower facilities. We do provide a port a potty and firewood is for sale on site (Venmo, PayPal or cash). IF YOU ARE CAMPING WITH A RV OR TRAILER, PLEASE CONTACT US TO DISCUSS A SITE. All sites can accommodate smaller RV camper units. However, larger RV's have limited site availability.
Campsites are situated along the river edge. Embankments are steep and near deep water. Although not prohibited, constant supervision for children is a must to avoid serious injury due to natural hazards.

Make some memories at this unique and family-friendly place. Completely remodeled January of 2022. Our cabin sits on 20 acres with beautiful mountain views. Away from the hustle and bustle, but only 30 minutes to Asheville, and close to shopping, restaurants, hiking, rafting, waterfalls, and much, much more! Enjoy getting away as a couple, or with the kids. Just steps away from our game room with pool, ping pong, foos ball, air hockey, darts, and exercise room. Come pet the animals! This 1 room cabin includes 1 King bed, pullout queen sofa, large comfy chair, dining table for 4, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, grill, picnic table, fire pit, cooking essentials, towels, and linens. This cabin is next to a bathhouse. There is a mens and womens restroom. Both restrooms are equipped with 6 showers, 4 stalls, and 8 sinks. You will have complete access to restrooms and showers. You will also have access to the gameroom and exercise room. Across from the cabin is a large pasture and our animals.

The Confluence campsite is situated on 21 acres between the north and south forks of Mills River. This serene campsite borders native trout water and an an additional 45 private acres that have been passed down in the Brittain family since the 1790s. The upper and lower meadow provides canoe, kayak and fishing access to South Mills River.
Four-wheel drive is needed during rainy weather.
(Please respect the privacy of neighboring property across the river.)
This very private campground is a five minute drive from Pisgah National Forest and 10 minutes from the Asheville Airport and the Sierra Nevada Brewing company.

We started the campground in 2016 after friends of the family pitched their tents down along the creek. They shared their enjoyment with us, and we realized how much we enjoyed knowing they were down there camping. We both have a great appreciation for God's creation and decided to open our gates to you. Lynn is a true Blue Ridge native and we both hope you enjoy the proximity to our towns, the mountains, rivers, streams, and waterfalls. The local apple orchards are also amazing! Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and rafting are only a few of the activities available within a short drive. So, soak it all in, come back home to Back Yard Campground, watch the sunset and enjoy sweet dreams.

This sweet 4 acre property lies on a gorgous s-turn of Reems Creek, 1 mile from downtown Weaverville. There is a porta-potty provided, a hose attached to our house, and a hot water outdoor shower that campers are welcome to. We have 3 large, friendly dogs who you will definitely meet. So, dog lovers only. Reems creek is known for its great trout fishing so bring a fishing license and your poles! The water is pristine and great for swimming as well. Fire ring, chairs and table, and hammocks provided.
We also have a honeybee apiary on the other side of the 4 acres from the campsites. Check out our beehive therapy experience available at MzzBeeHavenApiary.com, where you safely lay atop active beehives to inhale the healing hive air and feel the micro massaging vibrations of 10 thousands of honeybees wings. It’s a magical therapeutic experience! If there are no open availabilities in the online calendar when you are here, just let us know you’re interested and we will find a time for you to have a session.
We run a landscaping and tree company so you may hear us gearing up and pulling out on the weekday mornings.

We were in RV site 2 for two nights. Great 30 Amp hookup & water with lovely view of the river. Porto potty was fine. Nice sink outside for washing hands, doing dishes. We hung hammocks down in the trees near the water and cooked burgers on the grill. Our two dogs also felt welcome. Chad has done a terrific job making the campground well outfitted and comfortable.

Easy in, easy out! Convenient to both Asheville and Waynesville and if I'm being honest, Waynesville is more fun! I was at site #4 which is as close to the road as I want to be, but it is also on the river bend (hence "Riverbend") and I was able to catch a few fish! Thanks for the hospitality, Chad!

Camping here by the creek was the exact respite I didn't even know I needed. While here, I spent the day in silence watching the creek go by and witnessed many wonderful wild beings, including a family of newborn ducks with their mama, a wood turtle, owls, a box turtle, many adorable squirrels, and of course the bees. I did a session in the healing apiary house and really enjoyed it. I left feeling uplifted and clear. There were also many fascinating plants growing along the creek including Solomon's seal, box elder, walnut, and tulip poplar trees, boneset, Cardinal flower and many more, I could go on.
While I usually go for campsites that are more excluded, this site was actually really nice because of the hot water to shower and a place to use the bathroom, which made it easier for me to rest and recover in between long travel days. Even though the house was behind my setup, I didn't even mind because it was so quiet, and the creek drew me in. This site would be absolutely perfect for those who are new to camping and not wanting to be so excluded, but also great for those who, like me, are traveling and need a delightful place to rest.
The hosts Mary and Dan were very kind and invited me to come back anytime! I definitely will.

Beautiful land and wonderfully kind host! We camped with our own tent in site #4, which was perfect for us. We loved the charm and glow of the land with the gardens, ducks and chickens, and a cute clean outhouse and outdoor shower. We also noticed there were two charming glamping sites with tents already set up by the creek for anyone who prefers it. Highly recommend this Peace of Pisgah!

This is a perfect little camper’s paradise. The property has a cool little creek that runs along the border. The host and hostess answered all questions and assisted us in a timely manner. My son loved the ducks, chickens and turkey they had. We look forward to our next visit.

3 nights at Cold Spring Basecamp
We really enjoyed our 3 night stay in the trees at Cold Spring Base Camp. The tree house has everything you need for a relaxing, peaceful getaway. The space is full of beautiful details from the beautiful countertop to the tree growing in the bathroom. The bed and linens were very comfortable, lots of hot water in the shower with nice toiletries and enough supplies in the kitchen to cook a simple meal. Having coffee or a cocktail on the deck was magical. We plan to return.

This was my second time staying at Dupont Bike Retreat (likely second of many). It's so lovely to spend a weekend surrounded by the beautiful forest there. Aside from the nature, there are a few things that make this place special: an on-site trail system, very easy access to Dupont, friendly and attentive owners, tons of amenities including access to the hilltop lodge, private sites that still have a communal feel... I could go on and on. Highly recommended!

Such a great place. I've been here many times over the last 5 years of being a Hipcamper and I always discover something new. Check out rhe Curiousity Trail with thoughtful touches and a well-maintained trail much bigger than it at first seems. The whole place is well-maintained and a lot of thought has been put in to it. Also, it has an outdoor propane shower and indoor flush toilet which is rare at the pricepoint on Hipcamp! Also, great communication by the hosts and the staff I have met are quite nice. This was one of my first Hipcamps 5 years ago and I keep coming back because it is so good!

The site and property were absolutely gorgeous! Very clean, easy to navigate, and Site 2 was a beautiful little nook on the river surrounded by trees. There were several good spots for a tent, not as many for hammocks but still a few options. There was brush up to the bank at the edges of site (its almost summer when Im posting this), so if you fence off the little path to the car a dog could run back and forth around site without issue (unless theyre a brave swimmer, very cold water). I really cant wait to come back to this site with friends <3

We loved camping on Nate’s land! It was spacious, clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The additional add on amenities were great. We added the hot tub, outdoor kitchen, and the WiFi. Super fun to have the access to the outdoor area. Close proximity to town and about 20 min to everything. We would definitely visit this site again!
