Flannel Dog Farm is a seven acre homestead on the site of an 1860's farm. We have chickens, ducks, and dogs as well as a variety of wild animals. We have a large, open camping area and an emerging forest filled with native trees and birds. We are a peaceful, rustic, and safe site located just 15 mins. from I-90 and a mile south of Lake Erie. And, we make a mean breakfast– just read our reviews :) We offer several lodging options, detailed below. The Peace Portal, bell tent, and tent camping are on our farm proper, while the Blue Cabin is just down the road on a separate wooded parcel. The Peace Portal: --------------------- This comfy, rustic tiny house sits next to a beautiful pond. Watch the wild birds & animals through its large upcycled window, or sip your morning coffee on its sunny front porch. Enjoy a private picnic table and fire ring, as well as access to a shared standard half bath. Booking includes a farm fresh breakfast (kindly let us know of any dietary restrictions in advance) and one load of firewood. Blue Cabin: -------------- Located just down the road from our farm, the Blue Cabin is a private, off-grid cabin on a heavily wooded lot. Enjoy lots of shade, and a space that often stays cool, even in the heat of summer. Amenities include a picnic table & fire ring (comes with one load of firewood), water via a Berkey filter, and a compositing toilet. Bell Tent or Tent Camping -------------------------------- Deep in our property is our camping area. Because the bell tent and tent camping share a large picnic area + fire ring, we only allow one to be booked at a time so you can enjoy a relaxing, private experience. Both have access to a shared standard bathroom (short walk) or composting toilet (onsite). Breakfast can be added to either booking. The Hosta Cabin sits on about 7 acres of peaceful lakefront property with 450 feet of frontage on Lake Erie. We have stairs that provide direct access to the beach, and there’s ample room to hang out, enjoy a campfire, or take a long walk by the water. If you’re traveling with children or want to camp, there’s also plenty of space for a tent. There are two cabins on the property, each with its own fire pit and chairs. While they are next to each other, there’s ample space between them, and they’re close enough for a family or group to rent both for a shared stay. We live on the property, so you may see us or our friendly dog around. While we try to give our guests space, we’re always available to answer questions and enjoy a friendly conversation when welcomed. Please note, while we have a dog, we do not allow guests to bring pets. Things to Know Before You Book This is a SMOKE-FREE property, both INSIDE and OUTSIDE. Weekend Trip to CHERRY VALLEY CHILL

Troy's campsite is exactly as described & pictured! It was a damp, drizzly Memorial Day weekend but being able to open the doors is the best of both worlds, you get the feel of being outside while being protected from the weather! The thought he put into the beautiful rustic cabin is the icing on the cake. Troy was also kind enough to offer for us to stay a few hours extra since he didn't have another booking. It made for a nice, slow, relaxing pack up for us. Thank you again Troy, we had a wonderful time!

Weekend Trip to The Highlander

We had plenty of wood!! I know that sounds so silly, but it's such an awesome perk to not have to search around to buy wood or be a scavenger for it! Oh, and the spot light to the "office" was great! Didn't have to find a flashlight or headlamp to go in the middle of the night! We went hiking everyday and it was so nice to come back to a cozy place and watch a dvd and make dinner!

We had an amazing stay at Angie’s Country Cabins B&B, truly a hidden gem. Angie is an incredible host who goes above and beyond, with attention to every little detail that makes the experience feel special. The cabin was cozy, beautifully decorated, and the peaceful setting made it the perfect romantic getaway for some much needed rest and relaxation. The breakfast was phenomenal, honestly one of the highlights of our stay. We only wish we had more time there and will definitely be coming back. For food nearby, Whiskey Hill Saloon was a 5 star dinner spot with a great atmosphere and delicious food. We also stopped by Ron’s Treasure, which was such a cool experience full of amazing antiques and history, and the owner is a genuinely sweet guy. If you don’t mind a short drive, The Nana Peruvian Kitchen is absolutely worth it, some of the best Peruvian food we have had. Highly recommend this whole experience to anyone looking to unplug, relax, and enjoy a peaceful romantic getaway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recommend this site. Troy is a great and responsive host. The cabin is very clean and is exactly as pictured. It has many thoughtful conveniences (a plastic cooler built into the bar top, in case you bring ice and drinks, a charging station for phones, interior and exterior lights on remote controls, etc etc). The bathroom is very clean. The cabin was stocked with a generous supply of firewood. (I only used the indoor iron stove, and not the outdoor fire pit, as it was raining both nights I stayed there. But both options can add enjoyment to your stay.) The cabin sits on a scenic property. The grounds immediately around the cabin are very nicely maintained (green, mowed grass, trees, benches, etc). Beyond the immediate grounds is farmland that is enjoyable to look out over. I had a very positive experience and recommend this property.

I had a great weekend of camping. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The wood burning stove provided the perfect amount of warmth. I enjoyed the sounds of all the wildlife outside the doors. From the geese to the pack of howling coyotes, to all the farm animals in the area. Tim had the outside fire pit already set and the inside stove as well. He made sure we were stocked with more than enough wood for the weekend, and messaged me to make sure I still had enough wood. The outdoor porta potty was very clean and a very nice perk from our normal camping locations. It was also nice being able to let my dog run free all weekend. He enjoyed that very much. I highly recommend this site and will definitely be coming back here again!

We were warmly greeted by host with fire blazing in fire pit & woodstove! Plenty of firewood provided. Very appreciated on a cold evening in Nov! Beautiful site!!! Can’t say enough! Loved all of the lights, the pull down platform was great for our folding mattress, even a charging station for our phones, plenty of room for ourselves & our pups. The outhouse was convenient & clean. Felt very private. Highly recommend!
