We are on 7 beautiful acres in Baldwin City, KS. We're in town, but you'll feel like you're secluded in the country so you get the convenience of being close to downtown Baldwin, just 3 minutes away, while also feeling like you're in the middle of nowhere peacefully camping, just you and the birds. Our "glamper" is a 1960's retro camper that has been fully restored. The outside still looks very retro, but when you step inside you'll instantly surrender to the relaxation that awaits. Sink into the pile of fluffy pillows, take in the breathtaking boho vibe and the many amenities including A/C and Heat, wifi, a microwave, television with Netflix, refrigerator, waterless toilet and hand-washing sink. Games and snacks are tucked away in the kitchen area for you to enjoy your leisurely time at The Nest! With a large deck on the front you can take in the views of a nearby pond and a meandering creek which serves as a wildlife highway. Don't be surprised when a deer walks within view or a blue heron flies overhead. The deck is adorned with overhead lights that stretch to a nearby firepit and outdoor sitting area. On the other side of the camper you can snooze your worries away in the hammock, perfect for napping or reading a favorite book. The pond, just feet away from the camper is full of fish including crappie, catfish and bass and fishing poles are available for your use. Near the pond you'll find a small shelter house for up close views of the pond. The family of geese and ducks you'll see walking around are permanent residents of Duck's Landing, hence the name. Adjacent to the property there's a 9 hole golf course. Additionally Baldwin has several restaurants and shops to spend a leisurely day exploring our beautiful, historic town.

Milo has mant tent sites, car camping sites (for retroverted cars & sprinter vans), 6 cabins, a luxury guest space for you to stay! Sorry we DO NOT have any RV spots at this time. Our cabins are the Hippie Trailer, which is located near the west woods near the Fairy Forest. Then the Bunkhouse just past the big barn on the north end of the property. The lodge, where the Airbnb and pool are is centrally located on the land. We rent out the lower level guest quarters for non-campers. We have a Hobbit Hut near the Frog Pond, a Boho Bus near the entry way and several Vardos (gypsy wagons). For our tent campers there are tent sites in the Eastfield, including the Movie set location of the DM Cabin, and for diehard campers the beauty of primitive pack-in/pack-out camping of Freedom Field is a joy! 1 night at Wild Rest Sanctuary
I recently stayed at Wild Rest Sanctuary upon entering the property I felt like it was transported into another world as a entered the forested road that provided a sense of wunderlust anticipating what was around the next curve. It felt like I was driving backwards in time into nature. I imagined Hansel and Gretel following the trail of bread Crumbs through the forest. Upon arriving at the meadow and first setting eyes on the amenities, I imagined a medieval camp prepared for a king seeing the majestic tents and yurt. Some of the highlights that I experienced during my stay were watching the stars at night smelling the floral scent wafting on the heavy summer air. It felt like I was living in poetry. Other highlights were the well-appointed tents prepared with all amenities needed bed, and bedding, storage, lighting fans. I especially loved how user-friendly the booking website was, as well as all of the items that you could choose from, such as kits for making s'mores and optional Wi-Fi, although that was the last thing I wanted as I was enjoying my escape from civilization. The shower facilities were excellent, especially for an off-the-grid sanctuary. The host Christina was so accommodating and inviting. You could definitely see her passion for her vision of this sanctuary and it showed in her desire to provide everything needed to each person's individual desires. She has that unique magnetic personality that can't help but leave you smiling.

I absolutely loved Milo Farm! We had an amazing time staying in the bunk house. All the goats and donkeys roaming about, we're all so friendly, and I loved getting to pet them!. We walked all over their trails. The staff was also very friendly! Trout was a fun guy to to talk with, and Moonflower was very sweet! Will definitely stay again!

Lovely time at the little forest nest. Easy to find, completely secluded, and a romantic spot to watch the stars, cook over an open fire, and enjoy the company of your loved ones. Loved all the little details! would highly recommend!

Loni Louise’s land worked well for our family get together. We enjoyed the funky bunkhouse and appreciated the four bunk-bed capacity and having the AC unit really helped for the hot summer nights.

I had an incredible time staying here and cannot recommend it enough. The RV camper was exactly as described—if not better.
I was able to unplug from the busy world but still have the comforts of home. It was so peaceful to sit or read by the water and watch the wildlife, and then when I got too hot I could return to the RV to cool off and enjoy some ice cream from the freezer. The hosts went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and ensured I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I loved the quiet atmosphere and the beautiful surrounding scenery. It was the perfect spot to unplug, relax, and star-gaze.
I will definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with me.

Weekend Trip to The Light Center
This was my second time here! We stayed at the red tail yurt and Susan was extremely timely and welcoming. She answered any questions I had and even invited us to a peace circle event that was happening over my weekend stay.
Since the temperature rose to a steep 90 degrees, we ended up staying at the community barn for a quite a bit of time, which is beautifully furnished. You can tell how much it’s cared for. Our favorite part about the barn was the library corner adorned with a massage chair, which we certainly made good use of.
There are plenty of trails throughout the light center, and aside from the maintained trails, the woodlands remains largely undisturbed. This created an authentic hiking experience that made us really feel like we were surrounded by the wilderness. For critter lovers like us, we came across a lot of frogs and a few turtles on the land, which was quite a delight.
Overall, I would definitely come again for a third time!

Weekend Trip to The Nest at Duck's Landing
Super cute spot!! Lots of work has been put into their property- large pond. Ducks, nighttime lights to easily find/ see camper. They do stay on all night so bring a sleeping mask.
Bed is small- perfect for 1 or 2 small adults.
Camper has its own deck, hammock, chairs& table - perfect for HH drinks or AM ☕️
Inside camper- frig& freezer, coffee pot& microwave. Great spot & a true Glamping experience.

Weekend Trip to Milo Farm Sacred Land
Beautiful land with beautiful people I went on a solo trip to decompress and definitely achieved my mission! As well I had forgot to pack my fire starters and was struggling with getting my fire started the host actually had a farm hand come out and get my fire started which ended in some great conversation and chill time so grateful I took this trip!!!!

Rabbit Ridge Campground
Great primitive site with access to multiple fishing spots. Caught plenty of crappie and a couple catfish.
Downside to this trip was RV campers showing up after quiet hours on a Friday night who had not bothered to reserve other campgrounds and found them full. Ran their generators, played music, left truck lights pointing into tents - the usual lack of etiquette.

We stayed in a primitive tent camping spot. While the setting was nice, with trees and a view of the lake, there were drawbacks. A short walk away a shower house was available, which was a prime reason we picked this campground. In the women's shower house there were 7 showers - but only 2 worked and 1 of those was a low shower designed to be used while sitting.
