Escape to a private campsite in rural Alabama. The property is surrounded by forest and wildlife. There are several places to hang a hammock and plenty of room for outdoor games like cornhole.
The city of Columbus is about 25 minutes away and offers white water rafting, zip lining, axe throwing, a river-walk, and other activities. There are plenty of lakes and rivers to go fishing. Auburn is about 40 mins away.
The site offers an outhouse, fire pit, fire pit grill rack for cooking, platform (which can be used for small/medium tents, or to hold a table and chairs) and a hiking trail that is about 1/3 of a mile.
Small cars are able to access campsite and park at site pretty easily.
The property also has natural wildlife like coyotes, snakes, spiders, ants, etc.. Alabama can also get very hot during June, July, August. Please prepare accordingly.
Meeting at the front of the property is not needed, just drive to your hipcamp and set up 🙂 Please message me about any concerns!
About us:
My wife and I bought this property in 2020 with the goal of turning this land into a homestead. We plan on building a home eventually and have cleared out our homesite. My mom and stepfather live at the front of the property and can help you if needed. My stepfather is retired and my mother works as a nurse assistant in town. It’s a nice country experience, I believe you will enjoy!

We currently have primitive tent camping that can easily fit 4-5 tents or hammock camping.
Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding.
The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property.
This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited.
So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild.
The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful.

There are so many little towns near by. Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak/canoe (coosariveradventures.com), launch your boat or fish year round at Gold State Park which also has a fantastic play area for kids with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill.
We are 9 miles from Lake Jordan and 11 miles from Lake Martin.
Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 25 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails.

Just 15 minutes east of us is Swayback Bridge https://www.riverregionmtb.org/swayback-bridge-trail. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and goes over Lake Jordan.
Wind Creek Casino Wetumpka is 10 miles and Montgomery location is only 16 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming.

Nice "yard" area for the RV. The RV space is very close to level. Many great spaces for tent camping and hiking. We are a working farm, located about 35 mins or 23 miles from Columbus. The drive is pleasant with very little traffic.
Our campsite sits beyond the gate in front of our small farm store. There are rustic bathrooms with hot water, free WiFi and plenty to do! We encourage you to hike, bike, and explore.
** We are in rattlesnake and copperhead season. Please be mindful hiking on warms days and evenings towards dusk. **
The store is not open at this time, and the Greenhouse is available by request.
Deer, coyotes, wild hogs, and other creatures roam freely. Any pets must stay fully leashed at all times (see below).
Our day starts early in the summer as we harvest for market. We make every effort to be very quiet, but the field crops are close to your camp site. We will never run a tractor until after 11am. You may hear the greenhouse fans kick on starting around 9am when the system starts warming up.
Pets - Are welcome if contained on a leash at all times.
Bathrooms - are located next to the store and a short walk from your tent site.
Site - Is on level ground for tents campers RV vans and more. There is a fire pit, picnic table and water spigot. The water is not well water and comes from the county main water line. There is a main highway leading up to our gate so you do not have to off road to get to the property.

The property is 75 feet wide and stretches 210 feet back from the road. Shaded with trees, flat, plenty of room for pitching a tent. The driveway clearing large enough for a car plus camper or RV. I don't have dimensions, but use the pictures of my Jeep for reference. For now, you must decide if your rig will fit. The driveway ground is hard, but there isn't any gravel on the drive yet, so be mindful of parking during rain or soggy conditions.

Escape to a private campsite in rural Alabama. The property is surrounded by forest and wildlife. There are several places to hang a hammock and plenty of room for outdoor games like cornhole.
The city of Columbus is about 25 minutes away and offers white water rafting, zip lining, axe throwing, a river-walk, and other activities. There are plenty of lakes and rivers to go fishing. Auburn is about 40 mins away.
The site offers an outhouse, fire pit, fire pit grill rack for cooking, platform (which can be used for small/medium tents, or to hold a table and chairs) and a hiking trail that is about 1/3 of a mile.
Small cars are able to access campsite and park at site pretty easily.
The property also has natural wildlife like coyotes, snakes, spiders, ants, etc.. Alabama can also get very hot during June, July, August. Please prepare accordingly.
Meeting at the front of the property is not needed, just drive to your hipcamp and set up 🙂 Please message me about any concerns!
About us:
My wife and I bought this property in 2020 with the goal of turning this land into a homestead. We plan on building a home eventually and have cleared out our homesite. My mom and stepfather live at the front of the property and can help you if needed. My stepfather is retired and my mother works as a nurse assistant in town. It’s a nice country experience, I believe you will enjoy!

Come pitch a tent or hang your hammock between the beautiful hardwoods.
We currently have primitive tent camping that can easily fit 4-5 tents or hammock camping.
Both options sit alongside Sofkahatchee creek. We have 15 acres of untouched forest to wonder through and help you reconnect with mother nature. It’s my favorite spot for meditation and grounding.
The sky is amazingly dark around here and stargazing would be at the top of my list of things I love about the property.
This area is full of wildlife. Raccoons, deer, turkey, possums, armadillo, snakes, and even bears. I haven’t personally ran in to any bears but they have been sited.
So, who knows what you will befriend while in the wild.
The camping areas are very private. It’s part of a 50 acre lot that has recently been cleared and in the process of reseeding and preparing for a pond and farm life. So, sorry if you run in to anything that isn’t picturesque but your camp site will be beautiful and peaceful.

There are so many little towns near by. Our little town of Wetumpka is only 9 miles down the road. It was featured on HGTV's Hometown Takeover in 2021, was featured in the movie Big Fish and is a picture perfect town, with many locally owned shops and restaurants. It's located right on the Coosa River, where you can kayak/canoe (coosariveradventures.com), launch your boat or fish year round at Gold State Park which also has a fantastic play area for kids with a nice walking trail that goes along the river. Stop in at Coosa River Craft House or Coosa Cleaver for refreshing adult beverages and live music. Look for the Big Fish house. It's the big white house on the hill.
We are 9 miles from Lake Jordan and 11 miles from Lake Martin.
Fort Toulouse National Historic Park is 25 minutes away. There you can tour over 6,000 years of history. You can tour the French and American Forts or the Mississippian Indian Mound site, or just relax and take a walk along the trails.

Just 15 minutes east of us is Swayback Bridge https://www.riverregionmtb.org/swayback-bridge-trail. There are five loop trials available, ranging from 1 miles to 11.2 miles. You can hike or bike them. The bridge is 290 feet long and goes over Lake Jordan.
Wind Creek Casino Wetumpka is 10 miles and Montgomery location is only 16 miles from our property, if you want to chance your luck with some gaming.

Nice "yard" area for the RV. The RV space is very close to level. Many great spaces for tent camping and hiking. We are a working farm, located about 35 mins or 23 miles from Columbus. The drive is pleasant with very little traffic.
Our campsite sits beyond the gate in front of our small farm store. There are rustic bathrooms with hot water, free WiFi and plenty to do! We encourage you to hike, bike, and explore.
** We are in rattlesnake and copperhead season. Please be mindful hiking on warms days and evenings towards dusk. **
The store is not open at this time, and the Greenhouse is available by request.
Deer, coyotes, wild hogs, and other creatures roam freely. Any pets must stay fully leashed at all times (see below).
Our day starts early in the summer as we harvest for market. We make every effort to be very quiet, but the field crops are close to your camp site. We will never run a tractor until after 11am. You may hear the greenhouse fans kick on starting around 9am when the system starts warming up.
Pets - Are welcome if contained on a leash at all times.
Bathrooms - are located next to the store and a short walk from your tent site.
Site - Is on level ground for tents campers RV vans and more. There is a fire pit, picnic table and water spigot. The water is not well water and comes from the county main water line. There is a main highway leading up to our gate so you do not have to off road to get to the property.

The property is 75 feet wide and stretches 210 feet back from the road. Shaded with trees, flat, plenty of room for pitching a tent. The driveway clearing large enough for a car plus camper or RV. I don't have dimensions, but use the pictures of my Jeep for reference. For now, you must decide if your rig will fit. The driveway ground is hard, but there isn't any gravel on the drive yet, so be mindful of parking during rain or soggy conditions.

The host Caleb and his Dad, Eddy were exceptional. They were caring and kind, helping us setup the electric and water at our site with full hookup. The locked gated entry gave us a good sense of security, coming and going as we pleased. The tall hardwood and pine trees gave a wonderful canopy over the very organized, clean camp grounds. The pond was easily accessible, with clear water and some fish. Myself and my dog enjoyed the hiking trails. , including the tranquility of the area. The camp road and sites have gravel for easy navigation and setup. Note: right now, not all sites have full hookup.

Stayed in Tent site 2. Was right on top of the outdoor kitchen which was great. Site was nice. We brought our own firepit. Amazing star watching. Saw tons of satellites and a couple shooting stars. Only complaint is that my wife and daughter hated the restroom. So if you’re not feeling adventurous you may want to bring a camp toilet. For the price I didn’t care. I will definitely go back. Great communication from the host. Beautiful area.

Rufio would be proud of the surreal bike ramp, and we know Smee himself would enjoy the opportunity to canoe around the waters with his captain in tow.
