My 8 acre private horse property is located in the Sky Islands area of South Eastern Arizona. Are you grown ups who don't want to be next to kids yelling and running around dropping trash and throwing rocks, or barking pit bulls chained up, or loud music and generators? Do you like a clean restroom and a nice breakfast area on a well maintained property? Do you want to feel safe, enjoy beautiful views and know your stuff won't be stolen while you are in Tombstone? Then my place is for you! 18 and over. NO PIT BULLS. Good well behaved dogs allowed on leash welcome. If you want to bring a properly raised young person you can make your case to me and I will consider.
I offer 2 full hook-up spaces, one space is covered. Power is 50 AMPS! An RV must be under 12' to fit under the covered space.
I offer 4 dry camping options. You can book the Tent Cabana-The Shady Rest- listing or you can dry camp by booking through my Tent and Vehicle Camping listing. There are no exact designated spaces for tent/vehicle camping. You can choose where you prefer to camp. An extra vehicle is OK as long as it's part of your one campsite. 2 groups with 2 camp vehicles is 2 campsites.
I also have the Pool House, an indoor option with a power outlet, and it's close to the pool and restroom area. You can set up your bed or rent a full size bed which I will set up for you.
This is my private property, you and your gear are safe and secure. You can leave your campsite and go exploring, no one will bother your stuff.
I have WiFi and great cell service here. You MUST arrive by dark unless arrangements are made in advance.
I will greet you and show you around. I close my gates at dark. Once you are here you may come and go as you please.
I am located just over an hour away from Tucson and 25 minutes off the 10.
Dry campers- Off the pool area there is a clean restroom in my back garage and a sink with hot water. There is a breakfast room with clean refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker available for your use. Lots of local birds visit daily. You are welcome to visit and pet my horses and donkeys!

So when we married we moved to Washington DC knowing that in time we would make it west. 5 years later, when the traffic and the politics has taken its toll, we made a trip to Tucson and fell in love with this charming property that exudes all the beauty and grace of the Sonoran Desert. We looked at each other as we walked around looking at the stunning Mtn. Views and the mesquite fence and knew we were finally "home."
I've always adored the SW Hummingbirds and wanted to name the property La Hacienda Chuparosa. When we moved in, for the first week, every morning a hummingbird was sipping nectar from one of our plants in the front yard. We knew it was meant to be.

Let us be your base camp for desert exploration whether it's hiking, riding, birdwatching, and learning. Come to Camp Saguaro and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the desert. Our friendly hosts can help you plan a great day, some of them even have their Certified Tourism Amabssador credentials. Please note: We are tobacco-free, medicinal herbs are legal and ok as long as children are not around.
What to expect:
We are in a rural neighborhood where most parcels are 1-3 acres, we have seven acres. It's quiet around here but along with the natural sounds of the desert like yipping coyotes, and woodpeckers pecking, you may hear a horse, dog, or chicken. While we are on the outskirts of Tucson, we are not completely remote.
We have carved our sites out of the natural layout of the desert. There are many kinds of cactus in our area in addition to the magnificent Saguaro, and uneven areas when walking. We keep it as natural as possible.
We have a small "Mercantile" on property. This is our office, but we also have items you may have forgotten, and souvenirs made by local artists. Also available is firewood, and ice is for sale for your convenience. We have a small Laundry Shack (two washers, two dryers) 2.00 wash/2.00 dry. You'll need cash for these things, we do not take any other form of payment at this time.
Camp Saguaro is tobacco-free.

About 20 minutes away is Cochise Stronghold, home and burial place of Chief Cochise and Chiricahua Nat'l Monument is about an hour away (great hiking and climbing!). I loved the whole vibe of camp, which is fun and functional! I stayed in the Adobe, which was very comfortable with an air mattress I rented from camp owners for $15. There were hanging overhead lights near the bed which I found helpful though not a substitute for lantern and headlamp. The bathroom was clean, the shower had a healthy stream of warm water. There were welcoming touches throughout the campground including lights on trees, little colorful fake nomes and mushrooms decorating the cacti area near my structure. There were adirondack chairs throughout, easy dish washing sink, a convenience store with ice and wood, gift items. All in all a comfortable experience I’d do again. Plus location is great near Saguero National Park and Gates Pass (wonderful sunset views). My friends stayed in nearby camp sites on premises and we enjoyed campfire meals and singing. Before 8 pm. It was very quiet and clean. Thank you!

The bathroom and showers were very close by, great community spaces to stare up at the stars. Great to be so close to the national park and stay out in the desert for night. We stayed at a place called Lodge, and honestly, it was even better in real life than in the photos. Everything was new, and inside it smelled like wood and nature. It felt very safe and clean, with a beautiful area around and everything you need for cooking and relaxing.
The atmosphere was amazing, and the host was so kind and welcoming. At night, you could hear coyotes, which made it feel truly wild and natural. The nights were a bit cool and humid, like in any desert, but everything was well prepared.
The toilets and showers were very comfortable, with hot water, soap, and a place to wash dishes. Overall, the vibe was just perfect — this is the best camping experience I’ve ever had. Thank you so much for everything!

What a gem! This campground is one of the cleanest, most charming places. Super close to west side of the park, easy to find, remarkable hosts. Hot showers & running water sinks/flush toilets were wonderful, close by, and super clean. Our family of 3 stayed in the adobe which was charming and added to the southwest experience of the desert (especially grateful for our little adobe given the torrential thunderstorms we were able to escape from/stay dry in!).

Would 100% recommend again. My husband and I stayed here for one night and it was such a relaxing and wonderful stay. The camp host was very friendly and informative. It was only a 7 min drive from Saguaro National Park visitor center. Hopefully I get to stay here again! The bathrooms and shower are very clean, and the shower was super-hot, and we were both able to take a much-needed shower! Adobe was very clean and smelled really nicely like Sage. We were able to cook with our camp supplies and our air mattress fit perfectly on the bed. I slept really well and was very warm in the Adobe. You can purchase supplies needed, do laundry, and do your dishes with hot water. Definitely worth the money especially if you are on a long road trip worth the stay!

9-21-2019, We went to check out Spencer Canyon campground and rented a spot for day use. Nice area with fresh air amidst ponderosa pines.
Plenty of spaces (60). First come, first served.
Several well kept and pleasant smelling vault toilets with fresh paint and no graffiti.
All campsites have iron fire pit, grill, stone table and steel food box to protect food from bears.
Fees: Bring cash and no change is available. Fill out envelope, insert cash, keep stub, and drop envelope in slot
Overnight camping is $24.00,
Single vehicle day use is $10.00
Firewood bundle for $6.00

Tucked in the forest with access to the Arizona Trail, this spot was cozy and scenic. Small campground and fills up quickly year round. Fun drive up Mt. Lemmon, just above Molina Basin campground so a bit colder at nighttime and upon rising as the sun as more mountain to rise over. Quiet, serene, full of wildlife. Facilities always stocked with TP and clean. Met some neat people during our stay here!

Small, isolated campground that fills up quickly even in winter. Summer is the busiest because of Pena Blanca Lake. Great hiking and water sport activities in the area. Only spent one night here, but the facilities were clean and stocked. Beautiful sites and scenery!

Love the drive here! Shout out to Ranger Rick for the good company and tips on the area. You follow the road as far as it will go until you dead-end at this campground. Not far from Mexico, be prpeared for random border patrol stops or drones obstructing the beautiful mountain views. Just one trail goes around the lake. It’s very easy but enjoyable and scenic. Staff at the dock are as kind as can be. Took a kayak out on the serene lake and enjoyed watching the bird species overhead. Free firewood was offered after they trimmed trees. Firewood is also available at the store by the dock. Lots of items there in case you forgot important items. Cold winter nights but beautiful sunrises and sunsets and warm days!

I love Bog Springs Campground! Gorgeous drive to the secluded area. Bery hard to get a spot here, so be sure to plan as you may make the long drive only to have to make other arrangements. The place was packed in February! I can’t believe we were lucky enough to get the last spot available. Tucked away in the forest, this place is a gem!

I loved my weeklong stay here! Started here and moved up Mt. Lemmon Rd to the other campgrounds. The sites are scenic and spacious. The wildlife that inhabits the area will keep your attention with their beauty and intrigue. Hard to get a soot here year round. Cold mountain winter nights could not keep us away. Arizona Trail runs through the area, and lots of other hiking trails are off the main road. Met so many wonderful locals and out-of-towners during our stay. Great drive up the mountain!

The CCC era drainage/waterfall on Cave Creek is beautufu, and right near the parking area. Careful, immigration happens in the Chiricahuas. We encountered probable drug mule scouts with their two way radios chirping one night.

There were only 6 sites at this canyon campground on the babbling Cave Creek, but for that reason it felt exclusive, an unexpected and delightful discovery. Ideal for tents, maybe not so much for big RVs. First come, first served -- March and April are the busy season, so an end-of-April visit was perfect, and even a 6-site location was only half full. Highly recommend this and nearby Idlewild and Sunny Flat Campgrounds.

For beginner campers, this is prime real estate. Campsites are pretty close together and there are restrooms nearby. BBQ grills surround each campsite and if you're lucky, so are friendly, fellow campers. There is great shade coverage on hot days and the wind gusting through will cool off anyone.

Great views from the top! 2.5 mile hikes up to Carr Peak or down to the Creek. The drive up is 5-10 mph, super steep and narrow, but a lot of fun and beautiful. Max stay is 14 days. Bathrooms and bear proof trash cans are just a few meters from each camp site. Hikes are also super navigable by the little ones! Great stay!

Spencer Canyon campground and Gordon Hirabayashi campground are NOT the same, and are thousands of feet different in elevation. They are both on Mt. Lemmon. I'd recommend rewriting this description. I prefer Spencer Canyon because it's much higher, in a pine forest rather than high desert (which is where Hirabayashi is). Incidentally, Hirabayashi campground was called prison camp until recently. It's where Asian Americans were imprisoned in the 40s. I've been there a few times, and you can see the foundations of old prison buildings. Very sad.

Truly a Beautiful Park with beautiful well spaced sites & a Lake to boot! Too bad none of the campsites are anywhere Near the lake, but their location in amongst the spruces & Pines lack for Nada!! Very popular.

Beautiful but remote campsite by the creek. Great area for birding, hiking, or atv's. There are first come, first serve camp or trailer sites for $10. There are bear boxes provided, lantern hook, picnic bench, and tent area & RV pad. There are no hook-ups or cell service. There is raised toilet & water spigot. You are able to access wi-fi at ranger station/visitor center about 1.5 miles away or at the Portal library parking lot.

I have just been googling Kentucky Camp for next spring's roadtrip. According to the website, you CAN camp anywhere outside the fence surrounding the property! No facilities, dirt road into it but accessible by 2wd.
