This area conforms to the Arizona Dark Sky initiative, and while we are not dark-sky certified, we've had several guests compliment us on our beautiful skys. When it comes to rockhounding, or amateur geology, this is a fantastic area for exploration and study.
We gladly welcome pets, as long as you take care of all their needs, including cleaning up any mess and filling in any holes. Well mannered, friendly dogs may be unleashed from time to time. Please, PLEASE watch your small pets carefully. If you're traveling with cats, please keep them on a lead.
There is a riding academy and boarding facility adjacent to our property, and a long pleasant trail allows horseback riders, hikers and cyclists to travel along the Verde Greenway into Old Town Cottonwood, a pleasant 30 minute walk through lush riparian area.
Hawks Hideaway is a family owned property, occupied by a 3rd and 4th generation, mother-son team. Two generations have lived and died here before us and we are proud to be the custodians of this majestic property, full of old growth, gigantic cottonwood trees. A birdwatcher, or naturalists dream.
Hawks Hideaway is a natural and secluded spot located directly adjacent to the state-maintained Verde River Greenway. This means you may encounter wildlife and pests associated with being in such close connection to nature.
Hawks Hideaway is next to many miles of wilderness. You may see or encounter wildlife of all kinds, most are harmless, some are dangerous. It is your responsibility to know the difference. Be prepared to tuck your food away and bring ample protection from the insects.
You are responsible for your own safety and are camping here at you own risk. Please do not interact with any wild animals. If you encounter something and need help, please reach out to us. We live on the property and are readily available.

This is a quiet, rural neighborhood and a peaceful farm that borders the National Forest for easy hiking and few neighbors. The farm animals do cluck, crow, whinny, neigh, baa, bleat, squeal, and oink at various times, including early morning.
There is one mile of a somewhat bumpy gravel road with hills to reach our neighborhood, so please make sure you are ready for that and have adequate towing power. The nearest services and dining are 5 minutes away. We are about 25-30 minutes to Sedona, the Village of Oak Creek,
and the popular red rock hiking sites. There are many wineries and dining right down the road to enjoy.
1 hour to Flagstaff, 2 hours to Phoenix.

The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate that is provided for your enjoyment. Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. If that's not enough check this out:(a) it's just 5 miles to the Arizona Nordic Center for incredible cross country ski trails(b) it's just 18 miles to Snowbowl for chairlift rides or world class skiing(c) it's just 20 miles to the hip town of Flagstaff for fantastic restaurants, golfing, shopping, coffee shops and museums(d) it's just 60 miles to historic Williams with the Bearizona wildlife park and the popular Grand Canyon Railway(e) it's just 55 miles to the world famous Grand Canyon. (f) It's just 50 miles to gorgeous Sedona, making it a perfect day trip! (g) and last but not least, it's right next to the Kendrick Snowmobile Trails, which offers 54 miles of unbeatable snowmobile adventures! The property is located approximately 2.1 miles off the main highway down a forest service road. The road is in excellent shape during the summer months. During winter you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access the property, particularly if there has been a significant snowfall recently. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!
Pets must be well behaved and cleaned up after, including excessive animal hair. Leash laws apply to Coconino National Forest. Please do not book the Glamper Cabin if you plan to bring a pet which is known to be aggressive or unpredictable in nature, including breeds or mixed breeds such as pitbulls, rottweilers, bullmastiff and American Bulldog. We are not responsible for any interactions your pets may have with wildlife or other pets in the area.

Our property and neighborhood are part of one of Sedona’s original homesteads. The campsite is located on a half-acre orchard, but a smaller designated area has been sectioned off for guests. Please refer to the diagram in the photos for details. Guests are not permitted in the larger field and orchard areas.
We have several shade trees, a small grassy area, and a picnic table. Stroll through the neighborhood and enjoy the orchards and local wildlife, especially the birds.
We are a short 10–15 minute walk to the Hillside Shopping Center and Tlaquepaque. Mountain biking to the Hangover and Huckaby Trailhead is about 10 minutes. The bottom of Adobe Jack and Javelina is about a 5-minute mountain bike ride. Broken Arrow Trailhead is about a 10-minute mountain bike ride. Marg’s Draw (wilderness area) is about a 2-minute drive.
Our site can only accommodate smaller vehicles, primarily camper vans or cab-over campers. All units must be fully self-contained. There are no restrooms on site, and we ask guests not to urinate on the property. Absolutely no drugs or parties. Quiet hours begin after sunset. We are located in a quiet neighbourhood and ask guests to be respectful of our neighbours.

We can currently accommodate campers up to 32 feet. Large 5th wheels and Class A RVs are currently not supported until we widen the driveway to protect your safety. The site is relatively flat, but we are adding a concrete pad and can help you level. Feel secure leaving your home on wheels inside a fully gated property in a quiet, safe community while you explore the wonders of the Verde Valley, including Sedona.

A pretty special place to camp among the junipers and pinion pines on top of Howard Mesa. Enjoy amazing distant views by day, unbelievable night skies, and gorgeous sunsets and sunrises. You can also take in awesome views of the peaks to the east and even see the north wall of the Grand Canyon from the property.
There are currently three secluded camp spots, each hundreds of feet away from the other. No services are currently provided other than a designated stone firepit at each site, campers must bring everything they need and leave no trace. Please use the guest trash can located at the main gate. Normally accessible by any passenger vehicle, but significant rain may create enough mud to require 4WD.
The property is exceptionally quiet and clean, far away from city noise and pollution. It sits on the border of the Kaibab National Forest, where guests can walk through untouched old-growth forest. Numerous elk visit the mesa in late summer, mule deer are common, and there's lots of other wildlife to see.
This is a peaceful place to camp away from everything and still be able to visit numerous nearby attractions of every kind.
Coming soon: each campsite is getting it's own clean outhouse and a picnic table under a ramada, plus other improvements as budget allows.

We stopped here mostly for a dark night sky they mention on their website. That was ruined by a toy hauler with its bright LED's that were left on all night. Electrical connections are too far forward in the site. Our site, 8, was not level front to back because of that and because we had to pull so far forward. We may try this place again as we travel through almost every year.

We were in Boondock site B, it was clean and provided great amount of space for our setup. We were only passing through for the night, but it was a very clean and safe place to lay our heads for the night before moving on to our final destination! The hosts were very responsive, as we sent in our request later in the evening and they promptly responded with thorough directions and accepted our request without delay!

Grand Canyon Oasis is a hidden value. Located as close as possible to Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater National Monument, it is right off of 89.
We were boondocking, so no hookups (hookups are available, as well as some tiny homes for rent) - but were able to use the clubhouse, which features a bathroom (no showers), a great assortment of drinks and snacks (honor system), and a nice selection of gifts for purchase. The clubhouse also has areas to hang out, laundry facilities, and other nice touches (books to read, binoculars to borrow, etc).
The entire property is well kept, and maintained, and the boondock area was a great value given the proximity to the monuments and to Flagstaff.

Shelley was easy to contact and the site was wonderful. We watched the full moon rise as the sun set. Loved site 8. They have some cute looking tiny homes. I would come back with family and everyone could be comfortable, but still feel remote and outdoors. Windy region later at night, so pack away awnings and what not before snoozing.

Host Kory was very helpful and communicated from beginning to end. Very wide open to maneuver about any size vehicle. Nice fire pit area with wood provided. Gravel road for a couple miles no biggie really. I enjoyed my stay very secluded and private. We did the Train ride from Williams up to the South Rim. About a 30-45 minute drive. Thanks Kory.
