Lorrie (and Joe) were great hosts! We had such a wonderful time using their site and it was incredibly well cared for. The shelter and flush toilet were really nice amenities, and the trails to access the river were so nice!

The hosts are amazing, checked on us a few times to make sure we had everything we needed and gave us tips on how to find the river, where to buy firewood and more. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, and they made it with their own hands! Very comfortable in a private, wooded space and an amazing fire pit! We unfortunately had to leave early as our kiddo got sick, but definitely would love to come back again! Thank you for everything!

Our long weekend at Big Bear Cabin was fantastic! The cabin was stocked with everything we needed- linens, dishes, camp chairs, a BBQ, and an amazing fire pit. The grounds were lovely with trails, river access and beautiful, mature forests. We couldn't have asked for a better experience- thank you!

We spent a rainy weekend here and it couldn't have been better. We had the place to ourselves, including the large covered firepit. The cabin is really cozy and includes a coffee maker and all the dishes/cookware you may need. Unfortunately the rope bridge was pulled in for the season, but we walked the short trails available. I highly recommend staying here!

Lovely little site with everything we could have possibly needed!
The creek nearby was especially beautiful and we felt like we had great privacy despite being relatively close to other spots/buildings.

I loved the Motor home stay! It was a very pleasant and cozy stay in the woods. Lorrie was very a friendly host and she helped us feel home. Hope to be back soon with more friends.

We loved the new cabin at this camping location. It is like camping with luxury. Everything is setup so well. This camp ground is not like state park or others were you have sites next to each other. Here each site has its own lawn area, picnic table, firepit , toilet/shower. Our kids had fun time in cabin and enjoyed all the amenities like hot shower, clean bathroom, kitchen, sleeping beds, dinning area. Outside Laurie put a new gril that gas stove so cooking was fun. Kids also enjoyed the play area when we are busy cooking or chitchat.
Camp location is at the base of mountain so it’s ultra beautiful as it’s river side camp but in the lap of mountain. Owner has placed everything so well that you can’t have anyone complaining about a thing. Access to river is done my man made trails, suspension bridge is fun to walk and then there is picnic table on other side to enjoy the river view and musical sound of water. Under the bridge there is safe area for kids to enjoy the swim. Sand beach has plenty of sand toys where our kids were busy when we’re enjoying the river & sun. Not to miss the trail that goes all the way to south deep in the woods where you can find Bigfoot 😉..
host is super nice family that takes extra care of everything to make sure their guests enjoy the stay. They are just a call or walk away to provide anything you need.
We loved this place and will come back again soon.

My family and I booked Lorrie’s property to camp on and there was plenty of room for all of us. The space was beautiful, and we loved being so close to the river. The group space was perfect for our little ones who enjoyed the playground. And having flushable toilets was ideal. Already can’t wait to go back!

The group campsite was perfect for our needs: spacious, clean, well appointed; flushing toilets and a sink for hand washing.
The river trails were great! Even saw Bigfoot!

Camp Hideaway is a special place. The owners Lorrie & Joe have put a great amount of work and it shows! Our family (and dog) rented the entire place and had the best time despite the burn ban and crazy thunderstorm. We will be back to stay again (maybe the cabin next time!)

This was our annual family get together and we chose Hideaway camp for the second year in a row. Choosing to rent the entire camping area is just perfect for big groups, small groups, and camping with dogs. There's a gathering area with a gazebo and fire pit (if no danger of wild fires) There is also a dog tie out, which I thought was handy. It's such a fun way to spend time with family and dogs. Trails to the river, a swimming/wading area with plenty of beach to sit on. A cool bridge to a little cozy area with a picnic table, hammock and fire ring with the river flowing past. We definitely plan on renting their brand new cabin when the weather is colder.
The owners of the camp have worked so hard on their land, and it shows! The cabin wasn't finished when we were here last year and WOW!! is it a beauty! So much blood and sweat.
I love that there is so much room to play catch, Frisbee, corn hole(we brought). Plus there are a couple secluded tent spots. The bathroom is close by. It's just one toilet so timing can be tricky LOL.
We really enjoyed it here, Lorrie and J , the hosts and owners, are so easy going and have the best boy Rocky, their crazy husky!

Newly built cedar cabin at a small private campground right on the Sauk River just outside of Darrington. Good base camp for hiking - comfy bed, bathroom with shower, short walk on the property to the river where a picnic table makes for a gorgeous breakfast spot. The kitchen has a small fridge and a coffee maker but no stove or microwave; there’s a grill outside. You’re in view of some of the campsites but other guests were quiet. Hipcamp adds a bunch of fees, so final price was more than I expected, but certainly not the hosts’ fault! It was a good last-minute getaway.

This campsite is the sweetest yet! We are taking a roadtrip from California with our 7 year old son, and Camp Hideway was a tough spot to leave. Love at first sight! Spacious campsite, stunning river with the most beautiful turquoise water, trails to the river with a fun rope bridge, a Sasquatch hidden, cute wooden playground, clean bathroom! Love love love!

We loved camping at Camp Hideaway! 🏕 The tent sites had picnic tables and flat grassy areas to pitch your tent on. The scenery was incredible, the beach by a inlet to the river was a great spot to cool off and the kids loved it! The suspension bridge was fun and so unique. We will be back!! Thank you for hosting us!

We really liked our spacious Big Maple site. Area also has a nice restroom, gazebo, playground, and mini-trails to explore. Very beautiful forest and mini-beaches by the river.

Great spot for our annual "Friendscation" - access to river and creek with fishing, good shade, bathroom, gazebo with fire pit, trails and sand bars along the river, plenty of space for 5 families with kids.
Joe and Lorrie are awesome; they've put in a lot of hard work and it shows! Very friendly and helpful.
10/10 would recommend. We will definitely be back in the future!

What a quaint little cabin! The campground very close next door was pretty loud, but the cabin itself was very cozy and cute! Super soft grass in the yard, with a short trail down to the river and a shallow creek to go wading in. The property is the real draw, stunningly gorgeous with all the trees and berry bushes so near the water.
In the cabin, the water heater is super small, plan on 10 minutes of hot shower with a full tank. And be careful of using the stovetop after using up the hot water, we tripped the breaker doing that. There is a tv but bring your own roku box or whatever if you want to watch anything. There's no ac but the windows created a good enough draft to stay cool all day. The signal for tmobile was mostly good but had its spotty moments.
The bathroom is comfortable, with soft tp, cute little soaps, and a large shower. The front lawn is adorable with a firepit and picnic table, the bed and couch are both pretty comfortable, the kitchen has tupperware and clean dishes. Lorrie brought us new towels and pans, she and Joe are very attentive hosts.

My guest and I absolutely loved staying at the cabin!! The cabin is perfect!! It is super clean, has everything you could need and want, is situated in paradise and Lorrie and her partner who own and operate the camp are super friendly, inviting hosts! It is a 4 min drive to the state forest and Lorrie has created an incredible trail system on their property that is open to guests. Truly unbelievable! We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful property with lovely hosts, who kindly checked in with us upon arrival and prior to leaving. Well maintained camp sites with beautiful trees and paths that the owners have provided to enable access to the gorgeous river that runs through the property. Easy to find and get to, with tons of amazing hikes and recreational activities in Darrington and along the nearby Mountain Loop Highway. A real gem of a place and a wonderful stay!!
