Site 2 - Campsite on Working Lakeside Winery
We got to this very remote site around 8:30 pm, and we were locked out of it. We drove 12 hours to get there, I called the owner, who lives there, but she didn’t answer any of my 2 phone calls. I left a message stating that the gate was locked. She didn’t call back but she texted me to listen to her previous message. I told her that the gate was locked, she kept telling me to read the old message. After 40 minutes we decided to leave, this is a dirt road, extremely remote area and we were scared waiting there. After we left she told us the gate was open and sent pictures of the gate that she opened but that was closed when we were there. She didn’t send a video, she opened the gate and then took the pictures to “prove” that the gate was open. She was very rude, her lack of empathy was chilling. My husband is a disabled veteran and we were forced to drive over an hour to get to the closest truck stop. Even though we didn’t stay in the site she refused to give us a refund, told me to accept responsibility for not reading her old message. This was an unnecessary nightmare, the owner went to open the gate to take a picture, but didn’t even attempt to open it for us. Don’t bother patronizing people with this blatant disregard for her clients, there are plenty of wonderful hosts out here.

Overall. I loved the location on the lake, the stars, sunrise and sunset and solitude… the pups truly made the place better. The place has tons of potential! Brenda was incredible and communicated very well. She resolved every issue I brought to her - the fridge didn’t work so she accommodated me with an ice chest and said she would reimburse me for ice. But fair warning, the photos are a bit misleading. The units are all close together, the property was a bit… run down. The camper I was in had a bath/shower and toilet but I wasn’t brave enough to try the shower. The Toilet had a smell as if it wasn’t regularly drained after each guest… but the toilet worked. And for that I was thankful!
All in all. Beautiful location. Bandit was the star of the trip. Definitely could use some improvements but it was well worth the price for the stay.

The place itself was basically what was expected. It's a run down old RV. The fact that we couldn't actually fully close the door was pretty disconcerting, though. Had to keep all of our valuables locked in our vehicle.
I had 2 other big issues, though. Communication with Brenda was terrible, before my visit. I would ask for info, and not get a response *for weeks*. There was constant reference to a guide that I didn't have access to (until 3 days before our reservation), instead of just answering my questions. She would tell me that she would send me something, and not do so, again, for weeks. The morning after we got there, suddenly she was texting freely, though... The second thing is the wine tasting. Don't. Do. It. I was prepared for mediocre wine, and really wasn't expecting much, given the info on the website. However, what we got was completely oxidized *bad* wine. We poured out pretty much all of it, after tasting a sip, because it was undrinkable. The whites were *brown* from oxidization. (I wish I could add a picture here...) When I brought it up with her, she didn't even acknowledge anything I said about it. Bad form.

I had a great time staying in this camper. It’s in the middle of nowhere off a dirt road which is exactly what I wanted. It’s not exactly high-end glamping; there’s A/C, a comfy bed, a microwave (which I used a lot), and a stove top. The camper is old but it’s charming and still better than tent camping. Also, the winery and tasting room is a work in progress, don’t expect any events at this vineyard or hanging out in the tasting room. From my experience here, the stay is just for the camper, access to the lake and getting away from the city for a peaceful weekend. If you are wandering the area at the right time you may be able to see deer, armadillos, and a porcupine. You are guaranteed to see bunnies running around too!
The best part of my stay was Bandit, the host dog. Brenda let him stay with me at night and he followed me around, keeping me company. He acted as my tour guide on the path to the lake. He is an awesome companion for the solo guests.
I bought a bottle of wine and a paint by numbers project to keep me busy inside the camper when it was too hot to be outside or when it got really rainy and windy. Brenda was a fabulous host and is great to talk to as well. She was very hospitable and made sure my stay was comfortable.
I highly recommend staying at one of her campers if you are looking for an inexpensive and no frills getaway. This is also a good option for a stay for those that like to fish at the lake.

Brenda is an amazing host . It’s a great spot to get away from city life and what not . Brenda was super helpful and I definitely recommend her gem to others. The lake is great and she has kayaks too.

Cozy Camper On Lakeside Vineyard
Overall, it was exactly what I needed. Except the floors were spongy. The big bed blanket and pillows smelled sweaty. The water couldn't be drank, worked ok for the dishes and toilet. Brenda and Bandit were wonderful! It was peaceful and quiet! Beautiful big skies!! Thank you Brenda for a much needed vaca!!

The vineyard was so pretty and peaceful. After a walk down to the lake to wade and collect shells we made our camp dinner in the shade of a tree. The other campers were nice and quiet. Brenda checked in on us all and was very responsive to our questions. We especially enjoyed seeing so many birds and wildflowers when we stayed in early April. The wine tasting was a fun add-on, too.

She was super clear and informative on instructions on how to get there. Very friendly and helpful too! She has a road that connects to the lake so fishing, walking and exploring is easy to do from this camping area. My personal favorite was all the birds in the area. It was amazing!

Glam Camper in Lakeside Vineyard
Omg! It was so convenient going down to the lake and back. The RV spots all had their own space. Very private. The RV itself was stocked with covers, towels, etc. we would go back for sure.

We arrived to the large gate closed for the sake of deer, easy to get through. It was already night, and no lights were on in our RV camper, and unf not too many lights worked inside (probably too many of us trying the switches/leaving em in wrong position). But, we had the moon, 2 dim lights that did work and our creativity with flashlights and water jugs. Miss Brenda was always quick to respond! The walk the next morning down towards the lake with my dog was our highlight. There is a bathroom in the Tasting Room, but it isn't exactly ready for primetime in there, maybe only use in case of emergency, as the camper has a fully functioning toilet. AC was great, in this insane Texas heat, and I used the couch bed which was super comfy.

Adorable setting! Brenda was a fabulous host and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfy stay in the Texas heat. Lots of bunnies to watch in the property and her pup was super friendly. I’d definitely recommend staying here!

I knew going in this wasn’t glamping but I just wanted electric, hot water and ac, which we really didn’t get here. It was very unreliable event the ac would trip the breaker at night when no other electric was being used and we would wake up sweating every morning. There is no swimming or fishing at this property like advertised. I realize it’s not her fault the lake is low but unless you bring a boat you won’t be doing either from the shore. Her kayaks that I prepaid to use are left at the lake and we’re crawling with mice! Not to mention all the feces inside we didn’t use them. We ended up leaving early because nothing was as advertised and my kids did not enjoy it! Brenda was very nice but all the pictures were obviously taken years ago and I can not recommend this location!

Brenda is fantastic and a real treat to spend time with, as is her furry follower. While not “glamping” it sure is nicer than roughing it. Everything worked on the trailer and we were made to feel as at home as possible being away from our own house.

Brenda was easy to get a hold of and accommadating for a late arrival. She turned the heat on so it was comfortable on the chilly night we arrived. Camper was well used but it was much better than tent camping which was the only other accommodation in the area for a fishing tournament weekend. The camper septic had not been emptied when we arrived which was very unpleasant. This review would have been better if that would have been done!

Home Away from Home RV in Vineyard
This is a very peaceful place. We loved sitting outside amongst the wildflowers. The bed is very comfortable. Some things in the trailer didn’t work so we were glad we had all our camping gear with us and that we got it half price with REI coupons.

Brenda was absolutely amazing! I am a wine nerd and she happily sat with me and answered all my questions. The place was the perfect stop before heading to Austin! You can’t go wrong with a glass of wine at sunset (and her wine dog, bandit, is a sweetheart) If you are looking for a rustic unique experience, I recommend Brenda and Seifert Cellars!

If one is looking for an off grid experience this is your ticket!
Really difficult roads to the site. One lane. Tight gate to enter. We made it and in the gate. Brenda came out of the vineyard and instructed us to other campers she rents out. Said park next to one and she would unhook it so I could hook up. Later. Well, I tried to do this but really tight trails and low tree branches precluded this. The trails are like a maze. So, with no one in sight and no map or directions I just drove as far away as I could as I would use a generator, and set up. Never saw another person until we left. Very strange experience indeed. Found a fine place a few miles down the road at Concho recreation area. Stop in at the grill and speak with the locals for advice regarding the Vineyard. But it is what it is and some may find it adequate. I do think much more attention should be provided their guests.
