Campsite 2
I absolutely loved this spot!! It was perfect for trying what I thought was going to be my first solo camping trip but my best friend came with me. We felt safe being just 2 female campers. It was peaceful and it’s close to town if you forgot something. We got site number 2 and it had a nice size-able beach area. There were spots in the shade under some trees but we chose to set up on the beach with our 2-4 man tents so we could hear the water all night long. I saw in some reviews where people complained about the traffic on hwy 25. We did hear some of the noise but it wasn’t over bearing. It didn’t bother us. We slept peacefully and just loved being able to walk around while walking her dog. She did a little fishing. The water is perfect for kids to play and splash for those that have children. The beach is sandy on one side and had lots of river rocks on the other side.
The cute little bathroom was newly build and we could still smell the fresh wood from it. It was very clean, WITH HOT WATER for showering, and a regular flushing toilet!! Those are a huge deals for primitive camping. There was a water faucet near the entrance to our campsite with drinkable water. Definitely an area I would feel safe going alone. There were other campsites available but they were not too close together so u will definitely have your privacy. We happened to be the only campers at the time! Craig and Sarah are amazing hosts, quick to respond. I got to take home some fresh farm eggs. 😍

Get away from it all
It was a beautiful spot and felt very private. Would like to come back with my grandkid the river is perfect for kids messing around safely. 🙂 hosts were very responsive and delivered kayaks and firewood! Just what I needed and was a perfect weekend.

Camping on the Saluda
We enjoyed this scenic camping site with a bathroom & shower! My family enjoyed fishing and cooking trout on the campfire. We enjoyed kayaking down the Saluda River. The sound of the river was so relaxing! Sarah & Craig went out of their way to provide fresh farm eggs and bundles of wood! Would definitely stay here again!

Great camp site
We had a great time tent camping by the river. Pet friendly place. Clean bathhouse, and owner available on site if needed. The campsite was beautiful and so peaceful.

We had a wonderful stay at Broken Oak. Craig and Sarah were kind and considerate. The bathroom building was clean and well kept. We were even impressed by the quality and amount in the wood bundles, and available for purchase.

Family Camping
Craig and Sarah’s property was an excellent spot. The location felt peaceful and secluded, with minimal noise from the highway. Surrounded by nearby wildlife, the area retained its beauty even in winter, enhanced by the comforting presence of the river. The site was clean, and the bathhouse was a great bonus. The owners were very responsive, promptly replacing a broken space heater in the bathroom, which was much appreciated. The hot water was a lifesaver during the harsh winter conditions. Additionally, the property was conveniently close to stores for emergencies, adding extra peace of mind. Overall, as a large family, we thoroughly enjoyed Craig and Sarah’s property and would gladly return, even after enduring the harsh winter event over the South during our stay.

Nice little spot with a beautiful view! We ended up cutting our trip short due to the cold and high winds but we plan to come back when there’s better weather! Definite mountain feels even though you’re still in SC.
Not as quiet as we expected though. You can hear vehicles on the main road the entire time from the camp site but eventually it just becomes white noise. Overall, great experience!

Secluded riverfront relaxation!
What a relaxing and wonderful place! The bathroom was clean, we had privacy and seclusion, Craig and Sarah (and their boys) were wonderful and attentive. We had the best time, and will definitely be returning. Such an awesome little spot right on the river!

Peaceful
Had a wonderful time. Listen to the owls and the creek and the rain. It was beautiful. The flowers were such a nice touch of sweetness and the shower had fantastic acoustics and plenty of hot water. The hosts communicated well and everything was clean and easy. Would definitely go back.

What an amazing experience. The site was perfect for our group. Plenty of space for our tents and great fishing right at the camp site. The bathroom was clean. We can’t wait to go back.

Overall, this is a nice, well kept campsite, and the bathhouse is a great perk. It’s convenient for freshening up with warm water. Craig is very responsive, and the $5 firewood deal is a good value.
Just note that there’s a large, older house right next to the campsite, which isn’t shown in the photos, and it’s extremely close to Highway 25. You can hear the traffic constantly, and you can see the cars passing by. This would be a solid choice for RV campers, but hearing 18-wheelers downshifting trying to sleep at night wasn’t ideal for me.

Therapeutic Getaway
Camping by Craig's riverside retreat and hearing the water's movement all day & night, was just what we imagined it would be. Therapeutic & scenic. There was a lot of space to spread out including a small, private beach that came with our site. Craig was very responsive to our questions, before & during our stay. We also enjoyed our campfire with the great wood he delivered for a small fee. The newer & very clean bathhouse felt like an upgrade compared to other busier campgrounds we have visited. Another highlight has to be the colorful autumn bouquet that was delivered to our picnic table before we arrived for a reasonable price. It was just one of a few additional offerings they provide when you book your stay. We look forward to enjoying Craig's place again!

Private Campsite with Bathhouse
We stayed at this campsite a few days after Hurricane Helene hit, but the place was still in great shape! Great place to pitch our 10x8 tent with vestibule on a level, sandy spot. We appreciated the picnic table and close potable water. The site is located right next to a fast-moving stream. The fire pit is on a rocky beach almost in the middle of the stream. Amazing spot to enjoy a fire in the evening. The campsite was private, and we very much enjoyed and appreciated the bathhouse. Great water pressure and clean shower! We could have walked to it, but we ended up driving our car back and forth. The only downside for us was the proximity to Highway 25. One of us is a very light sleeper, and we could hear a little road noise, even above the wonderful sound of the stream. Great location and very close to local wineries and Traveler's Rest. It is close to great hiking, but all of the parks were closed due to the Hurricane.

Craig was awesome. He responded quickly, even helping us navigate some road closures that were outside of his control.
The property is great, right on the river. My kids loved being beside it. We enjoyed two nights of relaxing. Campfires, skipping rocks, s’mores, the works.
We will be back!

The site was really beautiful and private. We had a wonderful time, as did our 3 children. The river is so cool and picturesque. The bathroom was clean and nice too. Lots of park closures in the area but Craig recommended poinsett bridge which was a very cool place to visit!

This might have to be a recurring spot for me and my family.
We’re used to staying at state parks and other campgrounds, which is great. But having a nice open space by the riverside AND a personal bathroom with hot water and shower… it’s such a perfect setup. Especially with a 2.5 year old running around.
One of our first nights were heard some foxes calling to one another which was also very exciting to listen to.
Craig was really nice and him supplying firewood and eggs (fairly priced) was ultra convenient.
One minor point I have to make is there is road noise from nearby… but that is minor in comparison to the rest.

Definitely recommend!
The site is clean and peaceful. It's a perfect blend of "getting away" but still close to stores, restaurants, etc when/if needed. We didn't see any fish in the river at all, but that didn't bother us, the river was so clear and beautiful. Craig was super communicative and a great host all around.
