The Heavenly Hogan
What can I say, the hogan provided everything and more. 🥺 It is so well thought out and so beautifully detailed. Lori went ABOVE AND BEYOND to show us around, educate us on the area, and even helped us when one of us got sick. We will definitely come back in the future many many times. This little charming piece of land stole a piece of our heart 🥺 We miss it already ❤️ Until next time!

Lori and Dan's place is something special. The time and thought that was put into this place really stands out. Dan was very friendly and had the electric fireplace going for us so when we arrived the place was warm and cozy. for not having a full kitchen, Lori stocked the the kitchenette with all the appliances you need to cook a dinner. It felt private even though Dan was just a call away. Just a 7 min drive into the cute town of Madrid, Would love to stay here next time we are in New Mexico

The Heavenly Hogan
Our original hipcamp reservation got cancelled for our stop in New Mexico on our cross country road trip - so I was ecstatic when we came across Lori’s listing.
My partner and our 2 pups fell in love with the hogan. Make sure to ask Lori for the story of the site and the area, and look through the photo albums! We spent our night playing scrabble in the warm space, while one of our dogs cuddled up in the reading nook. The sunrise the next morning was absolutely breathtaking - pink and pastel, 360 views from the roof.
The only downside of this stay was only having it booked for 1 night, we will most definitely be back!

What a beautiful space! So many thoughtful details make this place feel so cozy and so special. Lori is the sweetest host, she gave me a brief history of the area while standing on the rooftop overlooking the mountains. It got a little cold at night when I was there and she did supply a space heater but something to keep in mind if that’s a big deal to you. The fire pit under the night sky was so tranquil and the area itself is super quiet and secluded. Sunset was amazing from the roof too. If you can stay here, please do!

Perfect glamping experience. Lori thought of everything. My cat loved the reading nook. I loved the quiet and the views. Cleanest outhouse ever!! The outdoor shower was great too. 10/10

The Heavenly Hogan was THE most perfect place for this experience. My girlfriend and I had stayed here in preparation for the Solar Annual Eclipse last Saturday. Lori was an amazing host, as well as an artist and antique. She was very helpful and helping us get started. Spending the night before the eclipse by the fire in the Zen Garden really set our mood. I look forward to returning! The only thing I may say, is, the bed is very hard. If you prefer a softer mattress, I would recommend bringing an air mattress.

I had an incredible time glamping! The experience was so much fun, and the opportunity for stargazing was truly fantastic. The combination of luxury and nature made it an unforgettable adventure.

Lori was very welcoming and the hogan was very cute. The bed was really uncomfortable, and was not a fan of the outdoor shower. Internet was non existent. However, was able to get great shots of the eclipse.

This is a little slice of heaven! Loved the garden and peaceful outdoor space. Everything you could think of for a glamping experience. We were lucky to catch a thunderstorm from the roof and walked in the harvest moon light in a midnight walk to the outhouse . Hope to be a regular!

This place is IT!!! Beautiful scenery: the mountains, the hummingbirds, the stars.. etc. the HH is super cozy and cute. The amount of detail and work put into this place is breathtaking. I will absolutely be back every time I visit the area and will be recommending it to everyone. Lori and Dan are absolutely amazing. 420 friendly.

This was an incredible find for a last minute meteor shower viewing trip. Every inch of the Heavenly Hogan is very carefully curated with charming decor—even the outhouse! Highlights include the various outdoor seating area, including easy access to the roof, the reading nook, and a full kitchen. Location was great as well; it felt secluded but was a short drive to Madrid for dinner. We came out to watch the Perseus meteor shower, and there’s so little surrounding light that we could see the Milky Way. I highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for comfortable stargazing. We hope to come back again! Lori was a very kind and helpful host as well!

This is a super cool place to stay. We really enjoyed sitting on the roof watching the sunset, watching the hummingbirds and looking at the photo album of the history of the place. Host was awesome - super friendly and helpful.

What an amazing place!!! We were only able to stay for one night, but it was lovely. The roof is perfect for star gazing, we really appreciated the outdoor shower, and Lori is full of good energy and information. Fully recommend!

The location has a beautiful view and Lori has created quite the oasis around the hogan itself. Our favorite parts were the rooftop stargazing at night. Making a fire in the ceramic chimenea and making s’mores. Using the outdoor shower was fun, definitely recommend morning showers for warmth which there is plenty of in the summer. The outhouse was nice too! A beautifully landscaped little escape. And I especially liked the touches of Lori having some bottles of water in the fridge because I didn’t come prepared when we came out and those were a life saver! The board games are such a pleasant touch as well. It was a weekend filled with nature and not with technology. Though there is internet and TV if you like. We loved it! We will be back!

It was incredible. It was very peaceful, relaxing, and was super cozy. The view was incredible. Very very much enjoyed the outside shower! There's so many nice places to sit and relax we had a little friend foxy come over and spend some time, beautiful dog. Our cat even loved it! He was very comfortable in the house and loved adventuring outside. He got really sad when we left. Would love to come back.

My husband and I loved every second we spent at Heavenly Hogan. The gardens, many sitting spaces, outdoor bathtub and shower, clean outhouse, rooftop deck, bird houses, solar lights in the dark, beautiful accommodations inside, and especially sweet pup Foxy! I could go on and on! Two nights was not enough to spend here. Lori was so sweet and accommodating. Hearing about the history of the property was fascinating. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Lori’s hospitality was unmatched. The place is stocked with anything you could possibly need, and we felt very warmly welcomed on her land. Come for lovely views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains and nights of stargazing.

Heavenly Hogan is the perfect weekend getaway. Lori and Dan are so welcoming and hospitable. The hogan has many special, thoughtfully created spots for relaxing and rejuvenating. This place truly has something for everyone. You do not want to miss this Hipcamp gem!!!!

Lori's Heavenly Hogan is amazing! We stayed for a quick overnight while we attended a music fest in nearby Madrid. The HH is lovely and thoughtfully decorated, and the surrounding grounds are so peaceful and quiet. Viewing the mountains and the stars from the rooftop was a real treat. And Lori's explanation of the area's history was fascinating.
Even though we live just an hour away, we'll definitely be back for a writing retreat and further exploration of the area. Thanks, Lori!
