Recent Hipcampers say this Hipcamp is great for families and kids.
The Enchanted Circle Campground sits on the Avalon Ranch. It is 161 owned acres surrounded by a state trust lease. We are very proud to have been voted #1 Campground in NM 4 years in a row and ranked Top 5 by Forbes in the country.
We have 8 Sites to choose from. (No large RVs at 4, 7 or 8) Campfires are permitted, and pets are welcome. Free potable water is available as well as a portable toilet.
For cooking, you will have a fire pit, with a cast iron grill. Every site (but 7) has a standing charcoal grill, with tongs, a spatula and a grill brush. A fire extinguisher and a shovel. We hang a hand washing jug at every site for your convenience, with potable water, but do not suggest this for drinking water source.
The property was originally homesteaded in 1893. It was also the first potato farm in NM. It has seven ground-fed springs that run year-round and is officially the Coyote Creeks Headwaters. The springs converge after filling 4 of our ponds in the marshland where the potatoes were grown. A family of 4 lived in the first dwelling built here, not much larger than a shed. Since that time, 2 homes, 1 of which still stands, a barn, a smokehouse, and 4 other outbuildings were constructed. There are old wagons and farm equipment from the late 1800s and early 1900's still strewn about the ranch.
We are home to Huge herds of Elk, mule deer, turkeys, prairie dogs, eagles, black bears, 9 horses, chickens, pigs, goats, our 2 dogs and 4 cats, and the occasional Mountain Lion.
We live here year-round. We love our land and want to share it with others.
I am a Veteran and our intent is to eventually have a Veterans Retreat facility here. Not a retreat itself, but rather a location for all of the retreats, nationwide, to be able to utilize, so they can use the funds they have to do what they do best. You are helping to make that possible.
We do pride ourselves on minimally impacting our land. We strive to keep it clean and as close to nature as we can.
And as always, Veterans, LEOs, and Fire Fighters are always free for one night up to 4 guests. Just book your reservation, and show us your ID during your stay, and we will reimburse you for your last night with us.
The Enchanted Circle Campground shines with its serene and private setting, surrounded by beautiful wildflowers, meadows, and wildlife. Campers often mention the well-spaced sites, which offer a sense of privacy and tranquility. The hosts, Landon and Kendra, are praised for their responsiveness and attention to detail, making guests feel welcomed and cared for. Many visitors enjoy the farm fresh eggs and interactions with the free-roaming horses, pigs, and chickens, adding a unique touch to their camping experience.
So nice. Peaceful. Quiet. Private. Owners great!
Easy to get to. Communication was very good!
Already suggested this experience to several others! Thank you!
Perfect camp spot for our family. Easy access and great hosts! The baby pigs were adorable and we loved our morning visits from “Earl”. Stargazer 1 was an easy pull through spot for our Taxa utility trailer.
This is exactly what I’m looking for in a HipCamp experience. Off the beaten path, no one else within hundreds of yards, peaceful and beautiful. Yet, we had a reserved campsite with excellent directions and a clean toilet. It was literally perfect.
Absolutely perfectly peaceful camp ground. The kids enjoyed the free roaming and the adults loves the safety of the land and the ease of camping there.
Great spot for our XC team. We enjoyed the property and exploring The Enchanted Circle. I have spent 12 nights at this campground and Landon is always improving the sites.
ECC was a lovely place to spend a few days. Extremely friendly folks, farm eggs and fantastic ground pork! The wild flowers on this place were incredible! Easy access to town if need be, even had cellular service!
This campground is amazing! Very spacious sites in a beautiful location and behind a secure gate. The owners were very thoughtful
and provided extras like a shovel for the fire pit, fire extinguisher, extra trashbag, fantastic grill with heavy grade utensils. We enjoyed the hummingbirds
at the feeder and all the other birds and wildlife around the camp. You will love all the solar lights scattered around like stars.
I have tent camped all over the country and I believe this is my favorite place, can't wait to come back!
This is my second time camping on Landon & Kendra’s land and it doesn’t disappoint! They have gorgeous views and camp sites are spaced out enough where you’re not on top of other campers. They are responsive hosts and keep their property clean and safe. I plan to keep going back every summer!
ECC is a gem. We stayed at site 8, which was perfect for the peace and quite we were seeking. The property is beautiful. I loved that each site had it's own porta-potty. It was QUIET - not like the campground I'm used to in Colorado where you're crammed into a small space with other campers. Our hosts were responsive, helpful, and always answered the phone or our messages on the App immediately. Buy the farm fresh eggs - totally worth it! We will be back and have already recommended ECC to others.
It was so peaceful. The sites were large and private. The personal touches to each site were so thoughtful, gift bag, handwashing area, wind chimes and solar lights throughout the site and the fairy lights in the pergola. Landon was outstanding and accommodating. We love the fresh eggs in the morning.
Our large family of eight had an amazing stay at Site 8! The site was incredibly accommodating, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a bathroom conveniently nearby. From the well-stocked first aid kit to the cozy hammocks and thoughtfully placed fire pits, every detail was clearly planned with care. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-equipped outdoor experience!
The property was beautiful. Landon and Kendra were extremely responsive and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again. Wonderful sunsets and short hikes right from our campsite. Very nice and spacious sites with wonderful fire pits, benches, and other amenities. The horses came right into our campsite one morning, which was a nice treat. We kept our dogs on leashes, so it was not problem. One of the horses even wanted to rub noses with our golden! It is a great location for anyone wanting to visit Angel Fire Resort and/or explore other MTB trails and hiking in the area.
Site 7, and really all the sites at Landon and Kendra’s, are absolutely beautiful. Tall pines, green meadows, horses meandering through the property, tons of wildlife, friendly camp managers, and thoughtful camp amenities— it doesn’t get much better in terms of tent camping experiences. We stayed for a week with our pups and went kayaking at nearby lakes. Zero complaints, can’t wait to return! Thanks to the whole Enchanted Campground crew!
Awesome place to tent camp. The only side by sides I saw were the owner and camp host driving around delivering eggs and checking on folks. We go up to northern NM for peace and tranquility, and to get away from the "always loud crowd". Here all we heard were horses, birds, and prairie dogs fussing at us. The site was well-maintained w/ a fire pit, benches, picnic table, porta-potties, and even ground. Be aware that around 6 or 6:30 a.m. the birds wake-up and serenade you all at once. Take a walk to the ponds w/ a cup of coffee and soak in the beauty and peace of the mountains!
We stayed at Site 8 “Cliffs” and had a great experience overall. The site lives up to its name—it’s nestled near a rocky bluff that offers both privacy and beautiful views. There was plenty of space for our family and two dogs to relax and roam comfortably.
The location is quiet and scenic, with easy access to hiking trails and nature walks. It felt peaceful but not too remote, and we appreciated the balance between rustic camping and accessibility.
The site was clean and well-maintained, with a good layout for setting up a tent and enjoying time around the fire. The dogs had a blast exploring the area, and we felt safe letting them wander around on leash.
We’d definitely come back again—highly recommend Site 8 if you're looking for a mix of views, space, and a relaxed atmosphere for families and pets!
This campground is absolutely enchanting! The sites are huge with a pergola with fairy lights, a picnic table, large fire rings and stunning views of the area. The owners are fabulous and have fresh eggs and pork sausage available for purchase. We had some mechanical issues and they let us store our camper while our truck is being repaired. There are horses, pigs and chickens wandering around. We truly fell in love with the area.
We love camping at ECC. The wide open spaces with peace and quiet. This trip we got to meet Indy the pig and a nice encounter with the horses as they wandered through. If you like the country and don't like a lot of people, this is the place to go. Our dogs love it there too!
E<< has it all! Aspens, pines, mountain views, meadows, rock formations, and wildlife. We stayed at site 8 for a couple days and extended our stay to move to site 4. Both spots are fantastic. Each providing unique scenery. We enjoyed the privacy and peacefulness while staying there. Landon and Kendra were great hosts. This was the first time we have ever used HipCamp and so glad we found E<<. They have set the bar high and we are already planning to come back next year.
We used our rooftop tent at site 8 and found everything at the site just as described. The site is very private and surrounded by numerous pine & aspen trees. The table, hammocks and porta potty were a big plus. We will definitely return!
We just made it back to Texas and are already thinking about our next visit! We loved “The Cliffs” (site #8) and appreciated how secluded it was, perfect for escaping the rush of daily life.
We’ve been camping the past 7 summers in different locations and this was our favorite location to date… we will definitely be back. Kendra and Landon’s hospitality, the farm fresh eggs and sausage (I highly recommend you take advantage of both), the thoughtfulness surrounding the campsite location and amenities, and the overall vibe created at Enchanted Circle Campground are what will make your experience one to remember.
The Sharps and The Morgans
Enchanted Circle Campground exceeded our expectations! Landon and Kendra were helpful and very responsive to any questions I had. Their property is stunning! Pine trees, aspens, rolling hills, meadows, rock cliffs, you can have it all at E<<. The attention to detail at each site was special. I throughly enjoyed watching the birds at the feeders at our campsites and the hammocks are a great place to relax and take in the views. We stayed in site #8 and #4. We enjoyed both sites. Our dogs loved exploring around on the cliffs at site #8. Site #4 has a very relaxing setting overlooking the meadow and ponds. We will definitely come back!
