What a perfect stop on our road trip to Fruita, CO. We so loved the fresh herbs and aroma that surrounded us. First Hipcamp experience!

Mrs. Pfanny's Garden Cottage
Home Comforts on a Farm
The cottage is a two story structure with all the comforts of home, while you can enjoy a walk around a farm. We even got to try some fresh eggs and vegetables. Julie was great!

This was a perfect stopping point. The farm was beautiful and Julie was so kind. I really enjoyed chatting with her. There’s a composing outhouse which was a nice change. Only caveat is that there are a lot of trucks going by on the road, so if traffic noise disturbs you I recommend bringing some earplugs.

A welcomed retreat
Pfannys farm was a warm and inviting welcomed retreat. I drove up from Lincoln to get away for one night. Julie welcomed me and showed me where to put up my tent. The area was grassy and looked over their sunflowers and tall corn stalks. The walking trail around the farm was perfect for my weary soul and my old yellow Labrador. There is potable water, a fire ring, covered picnic tables, chairs and even corn hole. I was able to taste some fresh honey the bee keepers were harvested. The aroma of all the herbs especially Holy Basil was intoxicating. I would highly recommend Pfannys farm. A perfect slice of Nebraska.

Calm and Beautiful farm stay!
Pfannys farm is a great place to stay and I wish we could have spent more time here and in this area of Nebraska. Though we didn't get to explore much, just walking around the grounds was so peaceful and calm and beautiful. It really feels like a place that is well cared for and looked after, and Julie was so welcoming when we arrived. Would highly recommend staying here!

Make time to recharge.
I wish I would have had more time to stay and get a tour of the farm. Julie is very prompt about responding. She has thought of everything that you would need during your stay. This is a sustainability farm. Everything is composted and recycled. The shower was toasty and the towels were fluffy. The bed upstairs slept so comfortably. This is a great place to recharge your batteries.

Camp amongst the corn fields
Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Pfanny's farm. The kids (11 and 7) loved playing with the cats and chickens, and we loved learning about the farm and seeing all the hard work that our hosts Julie and Gene put into it. They made us feel at home and the site was perfect for less experienced campers like ourselves. Spent a magical evening under the stars while watching fireflies fly through the corn fields. We would definitely stay here again!

Hosts with the most
Some places say "Hidden Gem", Pfannys Farm is the real deal. Amazing experience on a unique farm, the passon and work put into the place is reflected amazingly well. The tour was absolutely worth it and my boys leave with good memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. Thank you.

Very hospitable and friendly host. Level gravel area to park. Very nice picnic area with comfy chairs and under cover. Horse shoe sand pits. Much nicer than an RV park!!

Peaceful working farm
Very enjoyable overnight stay. The host makes a committed effort to provide a comfortable setting and it shows. I had an especially nice time peacefully reading outside with a very friendly cat nearby. Also was very easy to find and clearly seen from the road. Would be a good location for a small group although I was traveling alone.

Great way to spend an anniversary
My wife and I recently took a cross country trek to visit family in the western US. I found Pfanny's Farm by chance while web-surfing and looking for a place to camp in Nebraska. It happened to be our wedding anniversary the night we traveled through Nebraska. We could not stayed at a better location. We absolutely loved the visit and the people we met. Julie and her family were warm and welcoming. The Nebraska countryside was beautiful and the farm Julie's gardening and growing operations were very interesting to learn out. In particular, the geothermal climate controlled building in which she grows citrus and succulent was so cool. We loved seeing and learning about the innovations and adaptions that she and her husband implement on the farm. We bought some wonderful produce, horseradish relish, really enjoyable locally roasted coffee, and the most fantastic caramel popcorn (made by Julie's daughter - buy extra for gifts!)

Pfanny's farm is a well kept farm in rural Nebraska. We stayed overnight as part of a road trip, so we arrived kind of late. Our hostess was very kind and made us feel at home right away. That night there was an incredible thunder storm - I'd recommend a rain-fly!

Peaceful and comfortable++
Pfanny's Farm was a comfortable, quiet site for me to unwind on my trip westward. The farm has an awesome walking trail around the perimeter that is very well-maintained and peaceful to walk. It also gives you a good view of the sunset on the plains. They operate a few greenhouses and other CSA activities, but my site was a good distance back from there and I never really heard a peep. They have quite a few chickens to keep you entertained as well. Most importantly, the hosts are kind, knowledgeable, and overall fun to be around. This was my first stay in Nebraska and will stand out as the top memory of the state along with the dozens of great pictures I took around the farm. Thanks guys!!
