This is a very clean, well-kept property. Very pleasant. Bob was a very attentive host and made sure that I had all that was needed. Contrary to the description, there is a rustic, but clean and well - equipped outhouse on site (no walking 6 blocks to the village). River access is right across the driveway from the campsite. The only downside for me -and it's no fault of the host - was that the Burlington Northern Santa Fe mainline tracks are within shouting distance. The freight trains run frequently through the night, which wouldn't be a problem except that they sound their horns as they approach the nearby crossing - and holy mackerel are those horns loud! - which meant that my sleep was constantly interrupted. This would probably be a lot of fun for a family with kids for a few days' stay - but I approached the next day a bit bleary-eyed.

The site is lovely and my evening stroll along the river was contemplative. Unfortunately, the train whistle that blew every two hours throughout the night as another train came through on the tracks immediately on the other side of the river meant that I got very little sleep. I would have liked to know this before making my booking.

Nebraska kept a piece of my heart after my visit. We stopped at the overlook about 20 miles west of here and I fell in love with the land! Stunning hilly grasslands. This spot is nestled in some beautiful landscape, the river is positively mesmerizing , the land was just clean/ pristine. Bob was welcoming and came out right away to make sure I knew where things were. We were pleasantly surprised by the train activity, it adds another layer of character to this spot. It was chilly as we stayed in mid November, I’d definitely like to plan a longer trip back there to spend some time kayaking the river.

Fantastic spot on the Middle Loup River! Bob is a wonderful host. Loved our first two days so much we added a third. Swam in the river, rode bikes to the prairie, and enjoyed warmth and a thunder storm. The Sandhills are peaceful and must be experienced! Outhouse is acceptable and clean. Bob supplied firewood and told stories about the prairie. We’ll be back!

What an amazing location... completely private with a river view. This was the first stop where I could let my dogs run loose after being cooped up driving all day.
Nice fire put, easy hook up and Bob's a great host. Loved our time there! Also, although the trains keep coming, all night long, I had no trouble sleeping and they added another dimension to our stay.

The host was probably the best I've seen. The trip went a little awry so we pulled in late and Bob was very accommodating, he even helped us get to Mullen in the morning. so we could end our trip early.

Great place to experiance the Nebraska Sand Hills. Bob is awesome very helpful and accommodating. My Grandsons had a great time fishing and swimming in the river this was exactly the memories I wanted them to have. We will be going back again.

Absolutely beautiful location, very clean, well set up and thought out. Pop up camper is a bit musty, but clean with comfortable beds. River on property that you can swim/bathe in. Please note that train goes by frequently and honks right next to property - not so easy to sleep for those not used to noise at night - otherwise a lovely place to stay.

Great overnight stop at this campsite! Bob was very communicative and accommodating. The site itself was nice and spacious. There was an outhouse though we didn’t use it and bins for garbage. The river was beautiful and the road was pleasant to walk down with our dog in the morning. Would definitely stay here again!

The site was a large level pull through lot with beautiful scenery and a 20 amp hookup. Bob was very cordial and helpful. The site is off the beaten path but you will enjoy it.

This is a beautiful location right on the river, well-maintained and peaceful! The host came over after I had settled in to ask if I needed anything. I spent one night here on my way from Colorado to Minnesota, and would definitely recommend this place!

It's a beautiful spot, great host, but the railroad is just across the river and has a nearby crossing. Major line, so at least 4 loud wake ups in the night. Otherwise, this is a wonderful site. Not sure this could be improved,it just is what it is.

Bob was a great host and it was a pleasure hearing his knowledge about the geology of the middle loup river. He has a great place on the in one of the most beautiful parts of Nebraska. The only real downside is the trains.

It was very beautiful, close to trains so those were a little loud at night cause of their horns, but besides that it was incredible. Outhouse was clean, access to the water was fabulous stars were untouched. Very thankful. And Bob shared his homegrown tomatoes with us

A perfect space for camping and enjoying the Middle Loup river! Easy to find. No traffic. Beautiful Sandhills for a long or short bike ride. Peaceful kayaking. Both the nearby towns of Thedford and Mullen have good eating choices if you want to head to town for a meal. Bob the rancher is so accommodating and friendly! His bulls come in for a drink and to say hello to him. The deer also come and graze in the yard. It’s all so lovely!!
You won’t want to pack up and leave!! One side note….pack ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. The train whistles are constant. Ha ha. Luckily I can sleep through anything!

We had an amazing time here. Bob’s land is so beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed a swim in the river, had a campfire, and saw many stars. We also appreciated the water access, outhouse, and trash. Bob even gave us some tomatoes and an eggplant from his garden! I would love to come back here if I ever get the chance.

Bob's place was so perfect for our trip.
Kayaking down the Middle Loup was the highlight of it all. We also enjoyed stargazing and the campfire. It was blissfully quiet besides the trains.
The Sandhills are gorgeous. Hwy 2 was a nice road trip.
Thanks Bob - we look forward to returning.
