BIG trees and cows!

Was a really nice and quiet place. Cow galore! They were on the other side of the fence but it was fun to see. Geese at a pond close by. We were under some huge cotton wood trees. Unfortunately, we arrived after the winery closed so we didn’t get to experience that. Ryan was very friendly and helpful.

Quiet Location but Needs Attention

If you're looking for a quiet venue, this will work. However, it was not well-kept. We may have been the first visit of the year, but if you're charging for the experience it should be professionally managed. I never met the hosts in two nights there but I know everyone is busy.
I had to drag water hoses and electrical lines from a tangled wad to the site. One hose was damaged so I had to swap it out with another. If you're not into a little self-service, you may not enjoy that.
There is debris from roofing, a dismantled dock and tree branch litter surrounding the site, making it look junky. It has not been trimmed up, which could be part of the charm but in mosquito season would be not wise.
There are very large cottonwood trees hanging over the site and I had to climb up on my camper to break off dead branches that were scraping the roof. The trees should be trimmed a bit in my opinion because there are widow-maker sized branches right over the site. However, they do give it a magical look and must be great shade in the high summer.
Being the beginning of the season, I assume, it may not have been readied and just looked run down. I am sure it will be polished up for the summer.

A very ‘hip’ place with a hippie vibe! Very eclectic including the winery and paths to walk and view fireflies by the pond. 20 amp electricity and water from a hose (No 30 or 50 amp) which made it more on the primitive side and probably not suitable for bigger rigs. (Mine is 20’ and perfect size pull thru.)

Papa Moon is a great place to stay, I had a choice of under the HUGE trees or a pond view open area site. Quiet and private with a long sunset view of pastures from the tree site. There is a small airport nearby, but aside from the one early evening helicopter, there was no traffic. The cider was inspired and the panini was prepared perfectly. The location is tucked away and down a well maintained gravel road. It was not busy, all cars were gone before sunset. This is a friendly family run business - be sure to ask them about the name - it says it all.

Overall the stay was OK, on Sept 9th. I had made contact to make sure that I would have electricity to my site for the night of Sept 25, I never got a response. When we got there I was told that someone else from an other booking site had requested electricity and that they got the site. The host was accommodating by letting us park next to a building with electric plug in. So it worked out but it was a far cry from what the camp site with electric looked like. The host and the hostess need to be talking about who they book in sites from different booking companies. I ordered a charcuterie board and a bottle of wine which were fine. Toilet facilities in the building were fine, but I had to request that the door remain unlocked.

Papa Moon is on the grounds of a local cidery. There’s limited food and good wine, beer and cider available. The owner is personable and accommodating. There’s a bathroom available; it’s a bit of a hike. On the downside: This was really a parking space, not a campground. It’s next to a pond and it’s quite private. But I would normally hope to find things like a picnic table and a fire ring at the site; neither is there. All in all, best for a very self-sufficient RV; not for everyone.

We had a nice spot under the big trees, being the first ones there for the weekend we were offered that spot or one by the pond (that had no hookups). We were able to hookup to power & water easily. The kids enjoyed the swing set, feeding the goats, and finding toads around the yard. The grounds are beautiful and fun to explore. The little restaurant on site had limited hours, but great prices & products. The staff members were all very friendly - we had a great stay.

For the price, I wouldn’t say this place was totally worth it. Nothing fancy or special about it. The power hookup is not 30amp, which I didn’t realize until I got there. I’m not sure if it’s posted on the listing, so it may be my fault for missing it. The weather was extremely hot, upper 90s / low 100s. Both of my cats and I got overheated without the ability to run the AC. I work remotely, so I had to just endure it for the week. I left disappointed that the heat got the best of me during my stay and that I missed out on exploring the surrounding town because of it. Oh well, onto the next place.

Had a great time staying at Papa Moon. My daughter and the owners daughter are the same age and ended up keeping each other busy the two nights we were there. We spent a lot of time at the winery and made friends with all employees, who were fantastic!
My only issue came at our departure. And by no means is this a showstopper. We had to do some fancy maneuvering to back out of our spot as there was a bigger rig parked at the other end of the turn around. There would have been no way for that rig to depart if we were still there. If I knew they were coming prior to me setting up, we could have arranged our locations a bit better.
All in all, we had a fantastic weekend at Papa Moon. We would happily go back any day!

Great location and cider!!! Nice spot to camp close to town under big cottonwood trees and we loved chatting with the family in the cidery! They even offered some food there on our second evening. The restaurant t is anlso fantastic and only 6 minutes away Only thing I would suggest is to make it clear to campers that there is no restroom available at the camp once the cider house closes at night. That was no problem for us but may be for others.

32 foot trailer and truck fit nicely. Could get congested if more campers are at location. Power needs fixed, has good water and pretty level ground.

This is a great place to stop on your way across the country. We had the beautiful site by the pond. Scotts Bluff national monument is super close. Spent the afternoon there and then had a tasting with Trevor after dinner. Met the other campers and had a great time. The cider is amazing, we loved all of them. I can't wait till they get national distribution.

Beautiful setting. I enjoyed my stay. However, GPS coordinates did not work with navigation system. Better to give street names for directions from a certain point that does work with most GPS systems. Trim the branches around the sign so it can be seen from further away. A neighbor was very kind and directed me to your location.

We booked with Hipcamp not HH because we wanted multiple nights and electric (very limited-well communicated).
They are truly pet friendly, my dog loved the area and smells. I fell in love with the blueberry mead.
The staff is incredible-helped me find my cell phone with no drama. I don’t ant to go again and spend my days on the other side f the pond when my generator is fixed.
