### A Great Home Base for Exploring Western Nebraska
Our location also makes Peaceful Prairie a wonderful home base for exploring some of western Nebraska's most iconic landscapes and Oregon Trail history. In fact, you don't have to drive anywhere to experience our biggest attraction: **our prairie shares a boundary with Scotts Bluff National Monument**, and guests enjoy private foot access from our property into the south side of the Monument for hiking and exploring. The Monument's visitor center and historic Summit Road are only about 3 miles away by road. **Legacy of the Plains Museum is about 3 miles away, Wildcat Hills Nature Center about 11 miles, and iconic Chimney Rock just over 20 miles away.** Spend the day exploring, then come home to the prairie for sunset, wildlife, wide-open skies, and spectacular stargazing.
### Camping on the Prairie
Our rustic prairie sites—welcoming tents, cars, vans, rooftop tents, truck campers, and motorcycles—are located directly on the prairie. RVs and pull-behind trailers are not permitted on the prairie sites.
The prairie is a fragile environment, and protecting it is important to us. To preserve its beauty and health, trailers and RVs must book one of our designated RV sites. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us care for this special landscape.
Our **RV sites offer 50-amp electricity** and a rustic camping experience on crushed concrete near our corral, with foot access to the prairie just steps away.
All sites share access to delicious potable water from our underground well, a clean porta potty, and our funky outdoor camp shower with unheated water. Guests also enjoy private foot access to hiking at various levels of challenge on the south side of Scotts Bluff National Monument.
A small group of yearling cattle calls the prairie home during portions of the summer and may share the prairie camping area with guests, particularly during May and June.
Prairie guests have relished the feeling of having the place to themselves—to experience the majesty of the landscape, the magic of our star-filled night skies, and a soulful communion with the land.
### A Landscape With a Story
Lisa is the **fourth generation of her family to live on Valley View Farm**, located directly south of the prairie. Her family has stewarded these lands since 1925, but her family's roots in the valley reach even further back.
Lisa descends from one of the area's pioneer families. Her ancestor, **Martin Gering, arrived in the valley in 1887** and became an early investor in the fledgling town that would eventually bear his name: Gering, Nebraska.
If you're a history buff, ask Lisa to tell you more. There's a lot of history beneath these wide-open skies.

We have a 5 acre suburban campsite that is quiet, yet close to amenities. Located in south Lincoln between Highway 2 and the city limit, near shopping, restaurants, and breweries. Our property has a small seasonal creek with a walking path next to it and through a forested area and meadow. Cottonwood Creek Camp has one RV site and one Tent site. This can be a peaceful place to stay for a quick stop, an extended stay or even during Husker game-day weekends. We are 6 minutes from Southpoint mall which offers a shuttle to Memorial Stadium. Super Target, Aldi's and many other grocery stores are only 5 minutes away. Disc golf and mini golf courses are 2 miles away. There is also access to the Lincoln bike trails via our residential streets. Laundry is available on site for an extra fee.
Easy access off Highway 2 at the 68th/70th Street Exit, continue west via Saltillo Rd. and then north on 56th St.
Nearest dump station is 5 miles away at Shoemakers South Travel Center at highway 77 and Saltillo road.

This property is 110 acres all together. We have cattle that do visit the pastures but can be excluded if need be.
Nice rolling hills with Oak Savannas in the low areas. Lots of great native wildlife and plants that bloom from early spring through late summer. In the Fall the leaves are amazing.
There is a rough outhouse at the primitive campsite. No electricity but there is water and trash bins located at the farmstead. We do want our guests to be comfortable but this is definitely a rough camping site.
You may also want to grab a beef package from us for your stay or to take along with you. Many items available for sale right at the farm.

Born and raised on a farm near Pauline, Nebraska, I found myself drawn back to my roots, eager to steward the land in a productive and regenerative manner. In 2020, after two years of dreaming, I embarked on the journey of Aunt Annie's Flower Farm.
My motivation to create this haven of blossoms was deeply personal. Having faced the challenges of infertility and the associated grief, I resolved to "create my own sunshine" by cultivating a sanctuary of beauty and life. Aunt Annie's Flower Farm serves as a place of solace and joy for my beloved nieces and nephews, and I extend the warmest invitation for you to share in this natural splendor.
My mission extends beyond personal fulfillment. I aspire to inspire my students, demonstrating that with dedication, ambition, and hard work, they too can transform their dreams into reality. It brings me great pride to witness one of my former students utilize our flower farm as their FFA Supervised Agriculture Experience, serving as our media specialist and, in turn, creating my logo.
What began as a dream has blossomed into a thriving reality, and I find immense joy in knowing that our vibrant flowers bring happiness to so many. That's to say this was a great spot with well kept amenities and you really can't beat the views.
Incredibly peaceful and quiet and the host was immensely helpful which was very much appreciated as I had about a 14 hour drive, 12 of which were in horrible storms.

This was our first hipcamp experience and it couldn't have gone any smoother. Wonderful site with easy access even for our 38ft class A coach. Easy to get backed in. Plenty of room for our tow vehicle. We didn't spend too much time at the site as we were in town for a wedding on Saturday night at the Roca Berry Farm, and we were gone by noon on Sunday. The common area and bathroom inside was a great addition to this site. 10 out of 10!!

This location is so appropriately named. I don’t think we’ve ever camped in a location that was as peaceful as this prairie pasture was. The bluff views were spectacular and the sunset/sunrise were incredible. The coyotes yipping and howling just added to the old west vibe.
Communication with Lisa was outstanding and she was very understanding and flexible with our changing arrival time.

Jen was a very friendly and accommodating host, and her property was quiet and peaceful. When I checked in, she gave me a full tour and introduced me to all the animals, including a brand new baby goat. The animals were all curious, friendly, and looking for some attention - so fun! Totally unique experience and I wish I could have spend more time with the goats! Jen has a great rescue mission, highly recommend!

This site was amazing! Nestled right up against Scotts Bluff National Monument the views are unrivaled. Also the host gives such clear instructions and even checked in to make sure I was good. She also offered a complimentary upgrade to a less windy site, which was very appreciated as a storm rolled through. Enjoy your time on the prairie and in Scottsbluff!

1 night at Beckwourth Peak High Camp
This place is an absolute dream “glamping” experience. Every comfort is attended to - AC/Heat, clean bathrooms and hot showers, fresh coffee and linens but you’re still remote enough you can really feel the mountains. The hosts and owner go above and beyond to provide a white glove experience and it’s obvious they pour their hearts into High Camp. The only disappointment was we didn’t plan for a longer stay. Thank you for the hospitality! We will absolutely be back.

This was a very cool spot! Very private and quiet, cozy little nook for picnic table and hang out. It was very windy so Lisa moved us from our original site to the canyon which was way more sheltered and lovely! Lisa was great and we enjoyed getting a bit of the history of the area!
The only bummer about this place is that the prairie dust seems to get in and on everything! And because of the wind we definitely had a layer of it everywhere. It wasn’t too big a deal for us bc it was our last night on the road but our van definitely needs a good clean out after the prairie! otherwise a great night at peaceful prairie :)
