We have 560 acres of farmland with several pockets of pristine campground. 27 acres of wooded terrain that extends to a seasonal creek bed in the Northeast region of the property. 15 acres in the Northwest parcel of open land. 5 acres in the middle for RV/ Vehicle camping. Incredibly peaceful location with diverse wildlife.The Taylor Ranch consists of 560 acres of prime Montana wheat cropland, situated just northwest of Montana's largest city, Billings. The agricultural ground is farmed year-round and attracts all forms of wildlife, specifically mule deer, turkey, and upland bird species. Park your RV or camper by the grain bins or pitch a tent up in the more densely wooded terrain to the North. We are excited to open our property for camping experiences and hope our ground can serve as a secluded, but convenient getaway as we're less than 30 minutes from the Billings city limits. The property's close proximity to Interstate-94 also makes for easy access for guests driving from near or far.

Mixed feelings

Solitude after long gravel road

Plenty of solitude here, but you have to drive down a long gravel road (6 miles?) to get here. No sign to let you know you are at the right spot, but the silos pictured in the listing are easy to spot. The actual campsite is next to an abandoned homestead with ancient buildings falling down. I think that is kind of charming, but I didn't expect it. The camping spot was full of tall, dried grass, it clearly hadn't been mowed in a long time. Plenty of wildlife. We saw red-shouldered hawk and antelope.

Appreciated the quiet and dark; yet, a short drive to Billings and the interstate. So much better than noisy public campgrounds. Little road traffic, no trains, no lights, no other campers.

Old Farm Camp Ground

Camp is about a half hour from Laurel, Mt. You can see forever in any direction. The sunsets are spectacular. The wild life is plentiful:Antelope, deer, turkey, prairie dogs and birds of prey. You do come a dirt road that you follow for a couple miles that is well maintained with very little wash boards.
