4 miles from Billings. 1000 acres. We try to keep things as natural as possible except we do mow the common area in the trees. For security reasons, we will meet you at the gates and escort you to your camping spot upon 1st arrival. Fire wood available for sale $10 - needs to be discussed before hand. Camping available on the butte for viewing of northern lights. Lots of room to explore. Long term camping is available. 1 porta-potty on site. There is 1 mile of dirt road after leaving the pavement. We are 6 miles from Walmart. This is a working cattle ranch and the cows come through time to time. The listing computer keeps putting us in LOCKWOOD but we are actually 4 miles north of Billings. Last minute bookings are fine, if we are around -we will let you stay. We live 1 mile from the camp site and 2 miles from the gates where we will meet you. If you are looking for a RV park or campground - this is not it. We have cows, birds, wild animals and dirt roads. There is no power but we could hook you up to a generator if needed. The morning of you arrival, please send an ETA so we know how to plan our day, then give us a 30 minute heads up before arrival so we can meet you at the gates. Sometimes we also are 30 minutes away. A lot of the time you may be the only campers out here. We now have an area for SCOUT TROOPS / CHURCH CAMPS in Hipcamp for large groups of tent campers

4 miles north of Billings, MT. Multiple sites, in trees, overlooking the lake, in the rocks, or above buttes.  For security purposes we will meet you at the gates and take you to your campsite upon 1st arrival. We do not charge extra for children under 18. I have 6 kids myself. Common area with BBQ, fire pit, and picnic tables. Can accommodate any vehicle from car to semi. Someone is usually around so 1/2 hour notice for reservation may work. 4 miles from town and 5 miles from Walmart.  If you are looking for an RV park - this is not it. We are trying to be as natural as we can be. You will be camping with cows, coyotes, eagles, owls, deer, and antelope.   The large tree area is about 3 acres and can accommodate 7 campers so this might make a good place for family reunions etc. Potable water is available for an extra charge. We will set up a 300 gal. cistern next to the camper and refill as necessary.  *****We will meet you at the gates and take you to your spot.*****

This is the same spot as Trees, Lake View, Rock Buttes but geared for large events. 7+ camper sites plus many tent sites. You would have the whole 10 acres to yourself. You will have access to the decks around our party pad trailer. We have seating and tables for 50+ people. This includes a propane BBQ and a 30' serving counter. There is 1000 acres you can explore on foot. Fire pit and fire wood available when allowed by the county.

We had the place to ourselves and me and my daughter had a great time car camping! Felt safer having just us two gals out there than trying to car camp anywhere in town. Was nice to sit under the trees at the picnic table in the morning. Thank you!

Great place! Beautiful, open land with gorgeous views. This was our favorite stop in a month long RV trip. Established roads for easy access. Very friendly & helpful host. Just a very relaxing & peaceful stop for us & our new puppy. Loved it & would go back again. Highly recommend to all.

We loved this camp! Beautiful views, loved the cows roaming nearby, great hosts (excellent directions), and extremely quiet, even though Billings, with all its amenities, is close by. Hope to come again!

Epic views, camping down in a little coulis. Wonderful, hospitable owners to welcome you to their land. Beautiful sunset(s). Otherwise… as described. There are bugs… but that should not be a surprise to anyone who knows better. Welcome to a real taste of Montana:) Enjoy!

We had a great overnight stay at Sabra’s, we felt very welcomed by her family on July 4th, with the added benefit of wonderful view of the fireworks 😁. The camp area is very pleasant with lots of trees to shade, flat area and a picnic table. We’d certainly love to stop again!

Stopped here for a night to recharge on our cross-country trip, and wished we could have stayed longer. The host was a true gentleman, and the site was spectacular! If you want seclusion, fresh air, freedom to explore, and breathtaking views, this is the place for you!

The views are stunning, the place is peaceful, and it feels safe. Don’t forget to bring bug spray! Other than that, you’ll have a wonderful time. Plus, the hosts are super helpful—I got turned around on my way there, but they came to help me find my place.

Hike up to the butte!

We had a very nice time here. Our host met us at the gate and guided us to the camp area. We arrived to a strong and steady west wind, but didn't let that get in our way. We hiked up to the butte--which got us out of the wind for awhile--and were rewarded with sightings of pronghorn and deer. And an expansive view to the north. Note that this is a real ranch. Some of the cattle joined us at our pop-up camper for a time, but they were very well-behaved. It was a treat. We enjoyed this place very much. And had it to ourselves for a time. One other camper eventually showed up, but set up 100 yards away or more. It was fine.

Absolutely gorgeous views! Our dogs were extremely impressed. Host met us at the gate and guided us to the camping spot. Although there was one other party camping on the land when we were there, we were spaced far enough apart that it still felt very private. Bring bug spray, keep an eye out for snakes, and enjoy an unbelievably beautiful stay.

Great place off the beating path, quiet and peaceful. We dry camped for 2 days. Ran the geni at night just to move the air in our 27ft 5th wheel. Will do again!

I can't imagine nicer landowners as hosts. We felt very welcomed, appreciated and like our stay actually mattered. We loved the silence, but more, we loved what the silence let us hear. Birds, cows, cranes, coyotes, and the actual quieting of the day as night fell. During a log sunset, first one type of bird then another stopped making noise, until the last sound before full darkness settled was a Canada Goose, who honked three times. Why do they always have to have the last word? I imagine it disturbed the Meadow Larks who were the first to turn in for the night. This was our first trip of the year, a 'settle in to the system' if you will, that was convenient to home. We expected little beyond that. What we left with was peace, hiking stories, and appreciation of this unique space and the people who let us enjoy it. We settled in, and can't wait to return.

Due to recent rain I did not stay at the advertised spot, but I’m grateful to the host for reaching out before my arrival to discuss alternative options or allow me to cancel and book elsewhere. I took them up on the alternative option and had a great stay. Thanks for being so communicative and looking out for me!

Close to town, Quiet, Secluded...

For our last trip of the year, we needed a quiet relaxing weekend, away from people, but close to home, and we found it here! We had the entire place to ourselves. We were invited to hike the property, but we spent our trip relaxing. Even in later September, bring "sketter" spray or a thermocell. See you next year!

Quiet, open, far from the main highway so absolutely no road noise, big views. My late September stay did include mosquitoes and required repellent. All in all I enjoyed it.

Amazing camp in a cottonwood grove surrounded by grazing cattle on the hillsides. Plenty of sites with shade, a deck with tables for evening conversation and even a furnished MH for dining if the weather is bad. Lulled to sleep with the leaves rustling in the wind, awoke to birds singing and Pronghorn crossing the meadow. Our dogs spent hours running around and throughly enjoyed being off-leash. If you enjoy nature and solitude, this is it. Thanks, Sabra and Bill, for sharing your ranch with us.

Awesome place to stay! We stayed for 2 nights and loved it! Nice place to watch the stars, there are tons of antelope (one was hanging out less then 60 yards from my camper for most of the morning) we saw a few deer also. There is a nice bluff on the property to go hick to that has a very nice vew of the ranch and Rattlesnake Reservoir. The owners are super friendly!

Excellent porta, clean and Moo Cows greeted us in the morning. Very communicable with messaging for our late arrival and accommodating. Would recommend for a ranch prairie kind of stay

We were looking for a quick spot to sleep for the night. Reached out about this spot about 2-3hrs out. Responses were prompt and we were greeted at the gate and driven to our spot, which was level enough we barely had to do much more than disconnect from the truck and throw stabilizers and chocks down. We ended up being one of two occupants overnight. Sites are far enough apart that we didn't know we had neighbors until the next morning and they couldn't hear our external generator running or A/C unit. Only complaint would be that the mosquitoes were pretty bad. No real fault of the hosts though. Overall good site, great views with fairly level and spaced out sites.
