Dark Skies at night for galaxy cruising and Panoche Valley for Hot Springs. Spring! Warm days, bright greens, flashes of bright flowers, birds, and butterflies. Cool evenings by a roaring fire with dark skies streaming planets and galaxies. In the oak studded world of the Diablo Mountain Range, the ocean influence sends gentle breezes winding their way through the oaks, offering shade and cool evenings as a respite through the warmth of the summer sun. Use this as a home base and spend days at Pinnacles, the hot springs, the beach, Monterey, Carmel, the Central Valley, and so on or...you can rest and relax the world away, this is a place to regain your balance; come with your cares leave clear and regenerated. This is a place to sing and dance, to talk late into the night as the night sky fills with stars and the campfire dies down. We are perfect for group gatherings, and can accommodate your large party as easily and comfortably as we accommodate families. What we provide is: outdoor hot shower, flush toilet, clean clear water from faucets, and at your campsite, a fire pit and grill to cook on, picnic table with benches, and the blue oak savanna. Firewood for $15/bundle, fire starters -first two free in the winter then $0.50/each. Our firewood is sustainably harvested from downed trees and branches. We sell it for a neighbor. No healthy live trees are harmed in order to produce firewood. No native trees are felled in order to plant fast growing hardwood for fire or anything else! Pitch your tent or park your camper amid the ancient Blue Oaks of California. Warm yourself by your campfire as you drink in the dark skies. Shake the dust off your work worn spirit. Campsite 4 is a spacious site with expansive views of dark skies, meadows, and mountains. Like the other sites it is equipped with a fire pit and a grate to cook on and a picnic table with benches. Bring your own comfy chair to relax in. Site 4 is closer to the facilities than any other site. The dark sky views are amazing. Plenty of trees for shade and hammocks, and a very large meadow for taking advantage of our dark skies.

If you like spectacular views of dark skies our Coyote Camp is the site for you. Very private and quite large at the end of the road. Here, it is easy to turn your back on the rest of the earth and kick back and enjoy the stars. A great site for large groups, families, and solo camping. It comes equipped with fire pit and a grate to cook on, picnic tables with benches, and magnificent views of the mountains, meadows, and starry skies forever. The space around the firepit is large enough for over fifteen people to sit and enjoy the evening. The firepit is in the meadow area people congregate to eat and enjoy the night sky as well. The northern part of site 3 is a small round hill. Most people like to gather their tents together up here as well as set up chairs near the tents and spend their mornings and dusk in easy conversation.

Site 1 is in tucked in under the oaks; the most shade of all the sites, with mountain, meadow, and dark sky views. It has ample shade from the many oak trees yet plenty of sunlight for welcome warmth on a cool morning and plenty of stars at night. It is probably the site with the most shade and the most beautiful of the oaks. This site backs onto a hill which is an easy climb and great for stargazing or just simply sitting. The feeling and the view from the top of the hill is uplifting for the spirit. It has a fire pit with a grate to cook on and a picnic table. Nestled under the oaks it gives a feeling of comfort and privacy. If you are a larger group and need more tables let us know, we have plenty of tables. The nights are cold and the days cool. Dress for cold weather and you'll have a lovely time.

My partner and I had a lovely time enjoying Veronica’s beautiful land filled with so much life. Being out here really makes you stop to appreciate the little things in life. We were greeted by birds in the morning and ended the days with killer sunsets. Veronica is a lovely host and has so much wisdom to share about the land. Definitely pick her brain about the blue oaks if you can! Would highly recommend checking this spot out!

Even though I only camped 1 out of the two days due to clouds on the first night, I enjoyed my stay under the dark sky and took advantage of it to do some more astrophotography. Spotted a fox a few miles before getting to the site and a family of deer the next morning when I was leaving, so that was great !

I had a nice weekend camping on Veronica's land. The site number 3 was private, there was a nice small hill to pitch my tent on, and the starry night sky was great. I had my telescope with me, and this was a good place for doing astrophotography, no light pollution. And Pinnacles national park is nearby and a great place to do some hiking daytime!

We had a wonderful time camping here. We brought our two young sons and they loved it. The “volcano” and all the critters were huge hit! Veronica was so kind and had such great knowledge about the land and all the critters as well. We loved how private the site was but also how easy it was to walk to the bathroom, shower and water. The oaks gave us some nice shade during the day, the views over the meadows were stunning and the stars at night really were breathtaking. We cannot wait to come back again! Thank you Veronica!

Camp here!!

Jaimie was very communicative prior to our trip and made everything easy. Veronica met us when we got to the site and welcomed us with a tour of the land and amenities. I would highly recommend staying here, site 4 specifically as it’s away from others and has a beautiful view of the valley and hills. We loved seeing the bunnies and ground squirrels running around and plenty of birds like California quails.

Loved camping off the grid!

The host was very pleasant, friendly and attentive. The directions were clear. The views were beautiful. Mother Nature provided overcast skies, so our desire to stargaze on the night of the new moon didn’t happen. Next time. We enjoyed the blue oaks, beautiful hillsides and wildlife. The potable water, flush toilets, and hot/shower were an added plus.

Veronica was very sweet and helpful. She just radiates joy when you speak with her. There were a ton of bunny's and we heard so many animals during our stay. A few cows, coyotes, and turkeys. The shower was really nice after hiking all day at Pinnacles NP. The drive to the NP was a breeze. The land was so beautiful making the drive not feel so long. I would say the drive was about 45mins. I also like how the hosts take wildlife into consideration and urge people to drive slow on the dirt roads to protect the little critters and their nostrils and lungs. All around, nice and relaxing stay

What a beautiful camp site!! So peaceful and full of animals. We saw so many bunnies, birds, and even a toad. It was really nice to have a bathroom and shower too. Very convenient to visit Pinnacles. Would love to stay here again.

Clean, spacious, scenic, bug free

We had an incredible time at this campsite! It was spacious, clean, and totally bug-free—a rare combo that made our stay super comfortable. We came with a large group of families and the site easily accommodated everyone, from toddlers to teens to adults. The kids had an absolute blast exploring the wide-open space and especially loved climbing the “volcano” hill—it became the center of their adventures. Meanwhile, the adults enjoyed relaxing with gorgeous views, great company, and zero cell reception (which turned out to be a huge plus). It was the perfect chance to truly disconnect and be present. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fun, family-friendly, and peaceful escape into nature. We’ll definitely be back!

I loved tent camping on Jaimie's land! That is a large and beautiful grassland, so we could see a lot of stars in the night. There were many rabbits and squirrels. They were so cute! Jaimie was very kind. She supported us to make a fireplace.

Off the Grid With the Family!

We loved camping at the Song of the Ancients private campground. We had a big family group and there was tons of space to spead out, play games and take in the beauty of the area. Jamie was super helpful prior to our arrival and our host on site, Veronica, was delightful. We learned all about the area and the plight of the Blue Oaks. The amenities were also perfect - including hot running water in the shower!! We had one clear night of stars and the valley provided the backdrop for unlimited star gazing. If you want to get "off the grid" this is a great place to do so!

We had a great experience staying at the Bobcat site at Song of the Ancients! The site was well-maintained and the host was friendly and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. The rolling green hills were absolutely stunning—this was the perfect season to explore the area and take in the beautiful landscape. One of the highlights was being able to spend the evening by a cozy fire in the fire pit, which made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere under the stars. There was also plenty of space for the kids to run around and play, which made the trip even more enjoyable for the whole family. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a serene getaway in nature!

Peaceful Gateway Under the Stars

We really enjoyed our stay. The place is peaceful, and the host is very friendly. Upon arrival, Veronica and her goat, Isla, greeted us warmly. The site has everything you need, including a clean restroom, beautiful views, and a stunningly dark night sky. Despite the weather forecast, we were still able to see some stars. Additionally, we had to reschedule our trip, and Jamie was incredibly quick to respond and assist us. The location was easy to find, and the road was in good condition. Overall, we had a great stay and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with breathtaking night skies.

Loved tent camping here! It is in a very remote area which was perfect for star gazing. This was our first time camping and our host Veronica was just amazing, she was very friendly and attentive to our needs - she even gave us an extra bundle of firewood since it was freezing conditions in January. I can't wait to visit again :) For any campers booking this site - - yes, do follow the instructions they give you to get to the site, GPS will not take you to the correct route. We went through the instructions the night before and placed pin points on google maps for where we needed to turn and such, so we suggest doing the same. - I had 5 bars of signal at the campsite with T-mobile. My boyfriend had no signal with Verizon. We suggest downloading an offline map anyways. - campsite #1 was the closest to the bathroom and shower - the shower is outdoors, but it does produce hot water

Great Second Stay

This is our second visit to the property and we had a great time both visits. Compared to site 4, site 3 has fewer trees but you get a much wider view of the night sky. The shower, flushing toilet, and drinking water supply are greatly appreciated, and located about a minutes’s walk away from the site.

Beautiful campground!

Veronica was an amazing host. Met us at night and walked us to the bathroom which was good because we were afraid to walk around and go to the wrong place. Very friendly and welcoming. Great campsite. We camped at site 3 but site 2 has lovely trees. It was an awesome stay. We loved seeing the stars at night! Thank you for sharing your land and taking beautiful care of nature!
