Buck Creek Sanctuary is designed to help bring the scared back into our everyday lives Ken’s guiding truth is that we are part of nature and must find our part to play within it by honoring all things as being sacred. He dedicates his life to personal growth, consciousness raising, health, and healing of the planet. He wants to share Buck Creek Sanctuary with others to allow them to connect with nature and the sacredness of all things.

A place of spirit and beauty, Buck Creek Sanctuary is a 58-acre botanical, wildlife, and human sanctuary located on Buck Creek in Harrison County, Indiana, just 40 minutes from Louisville. We also are a member of the United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary Network. Native and medicinal wildflowers grow among the oak hardwood forest and eastern red cedar groves. Beautiful Buck Creek flows along the eastern edge of the property and is perfect for wading or relaxing. Hiking trails meander through the gently rolling hills. Backcountry campsites are private and secluded.

Camp along beautiful Buck Creek! Beaver Bend is our most popular camping site. Our guests love the beauty and seclusion of this site. It can easily accommodate two four-person tents, and there are some great places to hang a hammock. The creek is great for wading and cooling off! This is the best spot to experience wildlife such as beavers, great blue herons and wood ducks. Beaver Bend is secluded and there is a moderate/strenuous ~5 minute walk up a short hill to the parking area and facilities. There is room for a large tent, and the site includes a full sized tipi, which you are welcome to use to sleep in or as a gathering site. Note the tipi does not have a floor so you will need a tarp or pad if you wish to sleep in it. Beaver Bend

Ken is SUCH a great host! He gave us a tour of his gorgeous property when we arrived and then provided fantastic recommendations for the area. As for the site itself--it's exactly what we were looking for! There's truly nothing better than being lulled to sleep by the sound of moving water and we had the magical experience of an otter sighting while sitting by the campfire. The site felt private and secluded while having the benefit of only being a 5 minute walk from our parking spot. Highly recommended!

I loved tent camping at Buck Creek Sanctuary! Ken is amazing and so knowledgeable of the nature in his care. We tried sassafras tea Ken made from trees on the property and took an amazing immersion walk with him through the forest. There are SO many paths to explore on his property. It’s absolutely perfect for a little getaway to connect with nature. Close to the mundane world but not too close.

Beaver Bend

The restroom was 500 feet away, and it was a compost toilet, the creek was almost a half a mile away, the campsite was great,ken was nice enough to loan us a couple of chairs. Just to much walking for me.
