Idlewild Lodge and RV Park is located on the spring-fed waters of Lake Panasoffkee and built on 3 acres with 10 cabins and 10 RV pads. While peaceful and quaint, Idlewild offers all the comforts of home accompanied with plentiful amenities. Positioned as a boutique lodge, groups may find it ideal to host private events and families will find the amenities to be entertaining while also serving as a unique, but truly “Floridian,” nature experience. Located on the western perimeter of Lake Panasoffkee, Idlewild sits across a 9,911 acre state park preserving Lake Panasoffkee's vast floodplain forest, natural springs, pine flat-woods, freshwater marshes and oak scrub forest. Recognizing the beauty Lake Pan has to offer, the current owners revitalized Idlewild in 2022 welcoming residents and tourists alike to enjoy the natural beauty and fishing opportunities. In addition to cabin renovations and paved RV sites, Idlewild now features premium amenities including pontoon boat rentals, bait and tackle, a boat launch, boat slips, vending, recreational area, laundry machines, an on-site café, pool-side cabanas, and the most spectacular views of Lake Pan while sitting around the gas-fired fire pit. Idlewild is also host to Swamp Fever Airboat Adventures. Swamp Fever guests can sign up for the interactive alligator experience and ride an airboat deep into the shallow waters of Lake Pan's forest where snakes, turtles, cranes, and gators are aplenty.

Great views

We had an absolutely fantastic time here! The cabin was not only spacious but also incredibly clean. Our two big fur-babies 🐾 had a blast too, they really enjoyed their stay. We got to match our s'mores skills against the community firepit, exercised our competitive spirit with some foosball, and even shot some pool. Ahh and the view was breathtaking, Mother Nature in all her glory. You won't believe it but we also spotted some gators! Looking forward to our next adventure here!

a friend and I came to try and witness the Perseid meteor shower, but unfortunately it was too cloudy. the Inside was very modern and clean. this was a one time trip, visiting random parts of Florida, so won't probably visit again. But I would recommend, and we did go to the local eatery, which I can't remember!! ( in the info book) and the fish dip and shrimp boil were on point.

Great Weekend Getaway

This place was awesome. The staff were all very nice, the facilities were clean and the sites were second to none. We specifically loved the free BEER from 5 to 6 for all guests over 21! They just seems to be going above and beyond in every way. We will surely be back as we only live 1 hour away!

Idlewild Rv and Cabins

I can’t say enough about Idlewild . We had a large group w several RV sites and a couple of cabins. Everything was perfect from the sites , camps , amenities , groups and staff ! And the Gator Bait Airboat tour that is on site is A+++ and worth every minute ! We will definitely be back again!

Beautiful and Quiet place to stay!!

I loved camping here. Everything looks new , the service is great and it’s very well maintained!!! I highly recommend this place. Small but the perfect place to rest and have a great time with family and friends.

Cute glamping situation

Super cute cabin! Clean-ish. Our bedroom was fine but the windows did have some dead bugs. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Sad the game room area does close pretty early for a weekend night. But overall great experience! Next time we would check out the swamp tour

Best hidden gem with a resort feel!

We absolutely loved our stay at Idlewild. The ground are so beautiful, amenities top notch, and everyone that works there is super nice and helpful, not at all overbearing like many other campgrounds we have been too. The special features that make this a ***** resort are free ice, fresh towels in the showers, happy hour beer, and free washer and dryer. These touches really made us comfortable and we will be back!

Really nice place for the family. Its clean, cozy and quiet. Everything is at walking distance. They have a fishing dock, pool and there is a nice play area with games. Everything was really tidy.

Glamping I’m style

Idlewild is a magical place ! Truly, I don’t know how they have pulled it off, the weather seemed nicer there, no bugs on a FL evening, pool crystal clear, not even a single leaf floating in the water. The place was spotless and well cared for. Small conveniences were done to make our trip enjoyable, such as a happy hour, lit camp fire, and having everything you need on the grounds. It was a wonderful stay, would highly recommend.

Beautiful Glamping Experience

Came here as a surprise for husband’s birthday weekend , absolutely fell in love. They provided late check in and Emma from the front desk was very sweet to check me in. We stayed in Cabin C1 and it was so beautiful and clean and looked exactly like the pictures. They provided so many amenities for us. My husband took advantage of their fishing dock for hours , he loved it. We’re most definitely coming back !

Absolutely 10/10. From the pool to the lake views to the small touches in the room. Everything here was amazing. They have a giant Jenga game with a pool table and corn hole. If you don’t want to leave you don’t have to. There’s a small cute little food truck set up that was an absolute great place. The hostess Emily was such a sweetheart. I would definitely return.

Site #5 was amazing! The entire staff was super helpful and educated us on everythign we needed. The pool was a must for summer, super clean and very nice. Definately make this your next camping adventure!

A hidden gem, not on top of other campers, perfect sites for RV. Site was excellent for our motorhome. Hook ups were accessible. Great place if you have dogs. We were greeted warmly and taken to our site and made sure we had everything we needed. Prompt responses to messages via Hipcamp. We will definitely be returning!!!! Hopefully we will be able to take an airboat tour next visit.

All the Warm and Fuzzies ❤️

Even though this campground is a little off the beaten path, it has so much to offer. First of all, it’s rather small with a dozen RV sites and a dozen cabins, so it was comfortable and quaint. Second, the grounds are gorgeous, clean and maintained. Someone did an excellent job landscaping. The trees are old, big and shady, which you need in FL!!! Also, the view of the lake is 5 stars! Lastly, amenities included FREE ice, FREE laundry, a pool with towels, game hut, fishing dock, community fire pits (always going in the evening), herb garden, and food truck. Get the chicken wrap- you won’t regret it! We got all the feels while staying here. Do not pass this one up! @hitchedroadtrip

We will definitely be back!

Absolutely loved this campground!! Very clean, quiet, great amenities and the host was great with communication!! The pool was very well maintained, there is a “barn” with a pool table and music in it and a couple communal fire pits aside from the one at your camp spot and I LOVED the herb garden!! There is a airboat tour company right there at the campground which gave us an awesome opportunity that we may not have thought of otherwise. We will definitely be back!! The only short coming is that the wifi is weak if you are inside your camper so if you work while on the road be prepared for that.
