Welcome to Tobie Creek Corner, a peaceful, RV-only campsite nestled right at the edge of the Flathead National Forest. Located at the corner of Tally Lake Road and Tobie Creek Road (NF-2924), this private spot offers the perfect blend of seclusion and accessibility—just 15 minutes from downtown Whitefish and 45 minutes to the entrance of Glacier National Park. The property is filled with towering Fir and Larch trees, and it would not be uncommon to see many deer or the occasional wild turkey or songbirds fluttering around. This site sits on a mostly flat, graveled driveway with plenty of room to park and set up. Surrounded by forest and backed by public land, it's a great basecamp for outdoor adventure. You'll find direct access to mountain biking and hiking trails right off the property, including the Tally Lake Overlook Trail and Stovepipe Trails. Tally Lake, Montana’s deepest lake, is less than 8 miles up the road and offers opportunities for swimming, paddling, fishing, or simply soaking in the quiet beauty. If you head just up Tobie Creek Road, there’s a small, lesser-known fishing hole—a stocked lake with trout and pike that locals love for its peaceful vibe. This is a dry campsite with no hookups or amenities, so please come prepared with your own water and a toilet system. (Tent campers are welcome only if you bring your own composting toilet or bucket toilet setup.) A basic fire ring is available for use when fire restrictions are not in effect—please check current conditions. There's also a simple picnic table and plenty of trees for hammocks. Firewood is available as an extra you can add on to this booking- we will deliver it to the site ahead of your arrival time. Dry, split firewood is also available for purchase just next door from the site at 365 Tally Lake Road. Important Note: There is no cell service at the site. Be sure to download maps and save your directions before leaving service range. If you’re looking for a quiet forest escape with easy access to hiking, biking, fishing, and scenic lakes—all within reach of town—Tobie Creek Corner is ready to host your next adventure. This peaceful RV-only site sits on a flat, gravel driveway bordering Flathead National Forest—just 15 minutes from downtown Whitefish and 45 minutes from Glacier National Park. It offers a quiet, remote setting with a fire ring, picnic table, and plenty of trees for hammocks. This is our only campsite so privacy is excellent. Hiking and biking trails, including access to Tally Lake Overlook trail are close by, and Tally Lake—Montana’s deepest lake—is just under 8 miles away for swimming, paddling, and fishing. This is a dry site with no water, toilet, or cell service, so please come fully prepared.

Great base camp for Tally lake adve
Tent · With pets
This camp site checked all my boxes. Off leash friendly. My pup explored all around our camp. The access is a dirt road that is fortunately rough enough to keep the speed of traffic low. The camp is also on a 90 degree turn so more slowing. Saw maybe 15 vehicles per day. The site had room for my boat and trailer that I used on Tally lake. Very beautiful. Whitefish lake is nearby. It was rainy the site is well drained no puddles. Lots of trails to hike around tally lake.

Enjoyed the solitude of the location. Just a short drive to White Fish. Drove about 5 miles in to Tally Lake from campsite. The nearby gravel road did stir up some dust, but it wasn’t a problem. Very quiet night of sleeping out in the woods without traffic noise 👍🏻. Excellent driving directions. Would consider stopping here again if we come back from Canada on 93S.

Cute and clean Tally lake campsite!
Tent
PROS: This site was perfect for my solo camping trip with a tent, it would work well with a small camper too. There was wood already at the site, a firewood stand nearby, a fire pit, flat tent area and nice picnic table all exactly per the description. Easy to find, site is marked with a cute little sign. 15 min to whitefish downtown area, 20 min to the city beach access, 15 min to Tally lake ($5 day access thru the campsite area at the lake which has a nice launch for paddle boards, kayaks, small boats.). The state campgrounds for both whitefish/tally are typically booked out for ALL of Summer fyi so this is THE PERFECT site to be central for access to both lakes. LOTS of mountain biking, dirt biking and hiking trails nearby. CONS: There is NO privacy at this site, main roads are on both sides along with homes in the area/other privately owned sites. My stay wasn’t in peak season (late June) but the road to tally lake was HIGHLY trafficked, 7-10 cars an hour if not more until at least 10pm if not later on the weekend which kicked up a LOT of dirt road dust. Not an issue if you plan on not being at the site much. OVERALL AWESOME camp area, I’ll definitely be back as it’s centrally located to all the outdoor fun this area offers! **No cell svc. as stated but however on Kuhns road just a few minutes from the site there is a little pit to park in with perfect cell svc (verizon)

Quiet and Peaceful.
Tent · With pets
Brads site was fantastic, was close to a river (about a 10 minute drive up the tally road, also close to tally lake campground, if you want lake access.) Very peaceful and quiet, with lots of beautiful birds. Definitely recommend bringing lots of bug spray as the mosquitos get bad in the evening (to be expected out here), and bring extra layers for the mornings as it was quite chilly but other than that it was amazing!

Lovely spot! Quiet, secluded, surrounded by trees. Fairly flat and even so it’s great for RV’s, campers, and tents. Backing in/out isn’t too tight. Very easy booking and we liked that you’re able to just show up and not have to check in with anyone or anything like that. Unless you do what we did and somehow misinterpret the directions and end up at their house (sorry about that). Which if that does happen they are very kind!
