The crystal clear water in both the lake and the creek make for beautiful paddling as you watch the fish swim right underneath you and observe the turtles. Please be respectful of the nesting loon platforms and other lake owners. Please do not use their floating rafts. Enjoy the numerous surrounding lakes such as Chute Pond, Maiden Lake, Boot Lake, Townsend Flowage and more! Bagley Rapids is minutes away. Located near Townsend, Mountain and Lakewood which provide multiple dining options, bait shops, gas stations, and more. Please be respectful of this land. Please do not tamper with the campers or shed. Please feel free to use any wood you find already down in the woods or take from the numerous stick piles found near the campsites. Please do not use the cut firewood. The wood in the stick piles has been stacked for your use and is good dry wood that will provide you with hot fires. We do not even use the cut wood in the summer, spring, or fall. My young children and I have worked hard to clear those sites and cut wood for our own personal use in the winter so please respect the effort we have put in so we can continue to enjoy our land and share this beautiful location with others. There is no electric or water so please plan your trip accordingly. Please leave no trace and carry out what you bring in. There are no toilets available so you will need to provide your own portable toilet. Peeing on a tree is fine, but no pooping in holes. If you chose to drive down to the campsite by the creek you are doing so at your own risk as vehicles have gotten stuck trying to get back up especially after a rain fall and had to get towed out. It is recommended you park up on top and walk the short distance down. ATV/UTV are fine going down to the creek campsite. The long driveway has plenty of room for multiple vehicles, trailers, and boats. Absolutely no hunting or shooting of guns is allowed on the property. Bears have been seen on the property so please use bear safe camping practices. If your children use the ninja line or hammocks on site they do so at their own risk and we are not held liable for any injuries that may occur. You may notice a zip line. The seat will be removed and is not to be tampered with or used. Quiet time is between 10pm-6am. No illegal activity (including fireworks) are allowed. You may see us up there but we will respect your privacy and space. We welcome company and conversation but also respect you may prefer to be left alone. We don't have any livestock anymore and rent the fields to the neighbors but the home, outbuildings and five acres are well-loved and used as our home base and also for rustic weddings, graduation parties, reunions and barn dances. In 1974, the farm was used as the location for the TV movie "Things in Their Season" starring Patricia O'Neal. We put up one of the first barn quilts in the county and are on the route of the Bike the Barn Quilts bike ride (held last Saturday in September.) We love camping at River Forest! We have been there during the week this summer and returned for 4 nights in Sept! Clean bathrooms, flush toilets, showers! Level campsites with space between each. New FAVORITE campground! Great hosts and they delivered wood and covered it b4 we arrived!

We had a wonderful stay at this Hipcamp site! It was so close to so many great activities and restaurants! The site was very clean and the startup firewood they left for free was very nice since we didn't get in until late. It was also nice to be able to purchase more on site! The site does sit close to the road, so we were a little concerned about our dogs, but we were able to park to block off some of the view and we didn't have any issues. Lori was super nice to work with and was thankfully close by to help us jump start our vehicle on the last day! lol (never fails) We rented a boat from Popps Marina (super affordable and friendly people) and we ate dinner at Rene's Supper Club. We are already trying to plan a trip back to the area!

Enjoyed the trakl walk along the Wolf River. The office/camp grocery is nice. I got a super warm hoodie for fall winter. The rv campsite wasn't very private. But it was across from the restroom. They have been having some plumbing issues. But an alternate shower & toilet were available. The showers were warm. The hosts were nice & informative. We will be back again.

Great location, beautiful private site and wonderful hosts! The Crivitz area may lag behind in popularity from the Northwoods like Eagle River, however it deserves more credit, its a beautiful region, great people, abd we will return!

We had a peaceful stay at Nancy and John’s farm. We chose to pitch our tent behind the outbuildings near the cornfields which blocked the security lights. We appreciated the flush toilet and enjoyed dinner around the fire pit. This is a great site for those looking for some solitude and privacy.

Great stay! They’re farm is BEAUTIFUL. Nice grass you can camp on wherever you want. The fire pit is well maintained and the bathroom/ sink are all clean. They even let us charge things in the barn. John was very kind and told us the history of his family on the farm. If we’re in Wisconsin again we will happily camp here!

Nancy and John’s land was absolutely stunning. Nancy sent a very in depth message of great spots to set up for the night and also where to find the toilet, etc. There land was very easy to find! Once we got set up we started a fire and hung out there for a night. John came over to say hi and make sure that we were able to find everything okay and had a great conversation. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful experience - We loved the lake, so clean and clear, and the site was perfect! A great experience for our family. Close enough to parks and recreational activities, and far enough to be able to be right in nature. Animals galore. We loved every minute. Thank you!
