Welcome to Elmcrest Acres, located in an area known to locals as Devil's Creek. Originally this was a dairy farm started by my parents in the 40's. My dad had been selling Christmas trees since 1945 and when the milking got to be too much for my mom we converted it to a Christmas tree farm in 1979. Dave & I built our home here and continue the Christmas tree tradition as well as raise Haflinger horses, The sheep started as 4H projects for our kids in the 90's and now my daughter and I have a small flock. One thing seems to lead to another here and we opened the farm to visitors. We have a large space that can be used for family reunions, birthday parties etc and we offer a variety of classes and special events. (This will be the building where you can get water, use the bathroom and take emergency shelter if needed.) We also purchased my parents home from my siblings and rent it as a farm stay vacation spot. We really enjoy the variety of people we've hosted in one way or another, and love to share what our lives are like with others.While I love to travel myself, there is no where else I could call home! I love being able to enjoy all four seasons and knowing 5 cars on my road is a busy day. I hope you find the same sense of 'home' here that I do.Learn more about this land:Plenty of space to pitch your tent overlooking the Christmas tree field and a gorgeous view of the hardwood forests in the distance. Located just a half mile from our farm you will have complete privacy, but are welcome to come visit the animals. Site includes a fire ring and picnic table. Our 120 acres are located about 10 miles off the highway in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There are state hiking and ATV trails within a couple of miles if you want to venture further than our property. Bring a camera as you will have plenty of opportunities to see wildlife. This campsite is remote and in a rural area, you never have to see another person if you choose not too. This is your best defense against Covid-19! This is a traditional, close-in camp (spaces barely separated) that has been well used over the years but also well-tended. Good location in the middle of the Door County tourist area, close to many of the attractions that make Door County, WI a grat place to visit. The neighbors we met were friendly; those we didn't left us alone. Many small cabin and glamp tents, this would be a nice place to "home base" a family for excursions into the area.

Nicely maintained campground with every amenity you might need/want. We went early in the week and beat the holiday weekend crowds. The campground was quiet and other campers were very respectful.
The only down side to our site, was it was located right at the bottom of the drive behind the main building, and when the rains came, all the water flowed right down the drive and our site developed a small river through it. the fire pit took in some of the water and made getting a fire started the next night, difficult. It also made the main area of the spot pretty wet and dirty. Can't help a rainy day, but maybe some sort of way to keep all the water from running into a site?
That was only the one brief downside to our stay. Would go back, just would ask for a different site.

We had a very nice stay. Google Maps brought us to the wrong entrance but we easily pulled back on the road to go over to the correct entrance. Utilities all worked well. We also used the laundry facilities which were nice and clean. Excellent access to the path by the lake.

We truly enjoyed our camping experience at The village inn we could camp go to lake Michigan across the street which has beautiful beautiful beaches which you can walk for a long time and a awesome bike hot path also the village inn has a swimming pool and hot tub or not only the hotel but the campers to enjoy as well we met many folks that came from all around different states such as Arkansas Arizona Alabama everybody was very friendly also it was kind of cool we weren't aware but they had their once a year car show that Joe right past the campsite which lasted about an hour I should say car parade The campsites are small but that did not bother us at all

A great gateway to Door County, Wisconsin! A cool and quiet place to relax after a busy day of exploring the sights, shops, and flavors of Door County. Having it all to yourself is a plus. This was a good introduction to HipCamp for us.

Easy setup— pulled in and got to camping. Owner is a cool guy. Came out to chat the next morning. His dog was super tolerant of mine even though mine was a little annoying.
Had the place all to ourselves. Water and electric hookup were nearby. Excellent view of the stars out there.
