We are renting out our gorgeous river property located on the Chippewa River in Exeland, WI!! Our 5-acre property is equipped with electricity and power pedestals for multiple RVs, lots of space for outdoor games, a campfire area surrounded by string lights, and newly-constructed steps down to the river. There is a deep swimming hole out in front of the property, great for fishing too, and a boat landing across the river for putting in kayaks and fishing boats. Right off our river bank, we have caught muskys, catfish, smallmouth bass, and northern. We have four kayaks and two paddleboards included with the rental and firewood. There is also direct ATV and UTV access from County Highway Rd D to multiple trails heading towards the Blue Hills and endless trails heading to the UP. In 2024, we added a new gravel camper parking area that can accommodate 4 campers (30-amp hookups each), as well as (2) 30-amp hookups in the grassy part of the site. First RV is included in the rental, each additional rig is $50.

River's Edge is a four season adventure company in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, outfitting adventurers with equipment and guidance. The property is located on the Manitowish River, Heart of Vilas County bike trail, and Iron County snowmobile trails. By car we're about eight minutes from WinMan Trails, ten minutes from MECCA Trails and Mercer, three minutes from Manitowish Waters. As we're right on the bike path, riding to lunch or dinner is easy, with lots of yummy options close by. We have two campsites on our property, primarily for adventurers looking for a central basecamp location from which to go do all the fun things we have available in the Northwoods. Campsites are located on the west end of the property, in proximity to all the activities, and include full hookups, a picnic table and fire ring. Site One is closest to the river and bike path. It's more secluded and separate from the main lodge area. Of the two sites, this is the best if you plan to hang around camp and chill. It does have trees lining the parking space, so if you have a trailer above 11'-13' be careful backing in. Site Two is right off of the main parking area next to the lodge building. While we're working on natural barrier growth, it is kind of in the middle of activity during our busy seasons. It is, however, the easiest to back into with a large trailer. If you're looking for a convenient place to bring your RV or trailer and don't mind being less secluded, this is for you. If you're looking for a national forest experience, this is not for you. The main lodge is open for use until 10pm-ish. There are couches, tables and board games available for guests. A bathroom is available for campers in the lodge, however there is no shower. We highly recommend The Manitowish Waters Athletic Club for shower facilities, hot tub, and pool. Day passes are reasonably priced and the facility is extremely well appointed. It's about three minutes by car or ten by bike. Campers get a discount on rental equipment. Wifi is available in the lodge. Our sites are open year-round, although water service will be turned off when temps are below freezing.

On the upper Bad River, I have a special location that I'd like to share for others to enjoy. I was fortunate to acquire this land 20 years ago and now that I have retired from the United States Air Force, I can dedicate time to create peaceful campsites along the river. This land was originally railroad property as the railroad companies bought much land in the late 1800's to have options to place their railroads. There is still a railroad track nearby but it has been unused since 2015 and it makes a nice hiking path along the river for many miles to the north into the national forest. There are 3 waterfalls nearby and I will have many signs leading to the waterfalls. There are 4 total campsites on the property, 1 site you can drive to (Eagle Pines), and 3 tent sites that require 1/8 mile hike to 2 sites, and a 1/4 mile hike to the other hike-in site. There is no leash required for good pups. If your pup is aggressive with other dogs or people please leash them when on the hiking trails. If your pups would stay in your campsite no leash is required. Other campers may be hiking past your campsite on the trails that is still over 100 feet away from others campsites. You may run into others on the trails where others dogs may not be leashed. If your dog is aggressive to other dogs even if yours is on leash if you can’t control them please muzzle them. Private camping areas close to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, Great Divide District. We have cleared some of our private forest area this year (2026) and have put in camping slots. The grounds are pretty rough yet because things have not grown back yet, but the parking spots are solid and we also have pens for horses if you are traveling with horses and need a layover place. We are a primative campground as of yet. There are NO hookups, no electric, no water, no toilet. You will need to be fully self-contained for you time here. There is minimal cell service (we use ATT, so other providers may be better) in the campground but it isn't completely nonexistent. Boosters should work wonders here for cell service. The gravel road to our place is in good shape most places, however it is a gravel road, and in places, a forest road, and has some bumpy patches. The roads out here are also all ATV and snowmobile trails. We do not allow either ATV, UTV or snowmobiles on our private trails. You will need to go to the forest for those trails. We are not far from the Dead Horse Run Trail. However some of our private trails are open to campers hiking on them. Two of our camper slots are 60' long and one is 45' long. These three spots are back in only. We also have one that is a pull off the side space that is only 35' long to settle on. Tenters can use any of the spaces also. Due to the driveway, a curve needed to get into our campground, we do not accept Class A or the "big rigs" to come to our campground. Our roads and parking spots are a sand rock mix and are not hardened as much as they will be next spring after a snow season. But for smaller rigs we believe it will work just fine. Our camper is in some of the pictures, (not in a slot though) and it wasn't bad getting it in there. Remember, when deciding if our slots will fit your setup, you need the TOTAL length of your rig, both the camper and the truck to fit in the slot. You cannot be parking on the circle driveway. There are multiple fishing and recreation lakes within a 30 minute drive, hundreds of miles of nearby ATV/UTV trails to explore, and many mountain bike trailheads are only about 30 miles from this location as well.

A beautiful farm property with a park like setting with flowing creek and easy access to river for shore fishing or swimming to cool off on hot days. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere. We enjoyed seeing the beef cattle and a walk exploring the the woods, where we saw a second creek and many different species of mushrooms. We enjoyed watching the farmer baling his hay and loading it onto the Semi with the giant hook lift. The night sky's were beautiful and filled with a multitude of stars. The nights were oh so quiet as we fell asleep to the babbling creek. Jeff and Karen were most gracious hosts. They were readily available when needed and quietly inconspicuous when not needed. We camped right next to the creek in a grassy area in a tent. There was a fire pit and firewood available. My 4 year old grandson and I had a great time. He felt so free to roam and explore in complete safety. Can’t wait to visit again for an absolutely stress free break in a safe and quiet environment.

This is a very nice campground! There's 10 sites right along the Wisconsin River. It's very quiet and the sites are well kept and you have plenty of room. It's in the Sara Park that's in Tomahawk. There's a wonderful trail to walk and the views of the river are awesome! The only thing I would say is a downfall is that it says it's full hookups but it's only electric and water. The bathroom and shower building is a short walk from your campsite though. The showers are free and are very hot. Overall I would definitely stay here again!!

We really enjoyed our stay at this campground with the best part being that we could launch our kayaks right from our site. It was also really nice to be walking distance to the dog park and the bike trails. Although the sites are close, it was still a quiet place and nice people camping there. Fish fry on Friday night in town could not be beat. Will come back again.

1 night at SARA Park Campground

SARA’s Park was more than we expected. Our site was right next to the lake, peaceful and quiet. Across the way are ball fields where I watched a little league baseball game one evening. Enjoyed hiking on trails by the water. Everything is in walkable distance. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended one day.

Smallest fish I have ever caught. Was fun to just be fishing. I'll catch him again next year

Weekend Trip to SARA Park Campground

Great little getaway, facilities were nice and clean. Although I never got a code for bathroom or shower it was a good stay. (I probably could have called or asked) Despite the rain we enjoyed ourselves. As a recommendation I would encourage a map available for the rv Dump location at the tomahawk garage location. Had to ask the locals were to go. Sign at the camp says refer to the map but there isn't one there. Again it was nice, peaceful and quiet with only 10 spots and very reasonably priced for lakeside camping.
