This is such a beautiful, serene spot overlooking the river with plenty of room for our dog to run off his energy! Susan was quick to get back to me with answers to my questions and was warm & friendly with replies.. She has a wonderful garden that she allowed us to pick vegetables and herbs from and she wouldn’t let us pay for them, which was so generous! This was our second time here; we’ll be back next year! The Old Red Mill Oasis is heaven on earth in Central Wisconsin! The whole property along the Big Plover River has been carefully curated, with gazing benches showcasing meditative views. I loved to listen to the rush of the river at the Red Mill, and walk the manicured trails. My doodle dog Yummy is in absolute bliss on the land! The mushroom hunting was sublime in the prime! Michael is such a gracious host and wants to make your experience a memory to last forever. The kayaking is supreme, with a few different options. It's a treat when the heron leads you back to camp. Thank you, Michael!

If you're looking to truly unplug and reconnect with nature, this off-the-grid campsite is the perfect escape. Nestled along the stunning Chippewa River, the views are nothing short of breathtaking. Waking up to the views of the river and the peaceful rustle of the grasses and trees was pure serenity. At night, the sky comes alive . . . on a clear night it's like sleeping beneath a galaxy. Literally, this spot is awesome. It was one of the most peaceful and grounding experiences I've had in a long time. Susan, the host, made everything even better. She was so incredibly kind and thoughtful—welcoming, helpful, and genuinely caring about our comfort and experience. It's rare to meet someone who so clearly loves sharing her little slice of paradise. This place is something special. I’ll definitely be back. Highly, highly recommend for anyone needing a true nature retreat.

What an indescribably beautiful place on this sweet earth. Michael's land, a long strip of wooded shoreland on the Plover river, is one man's life's wo. It is a gorgeous mix of wild wonder and gentle landscaping. Michael is a wonderful host. He did all he could to make our stay as memorable as possible. I cannot recommend his little paradise more.

Weekend Trip to Old Red Mill Oasis

Had the honor of being the first visitors to this HipCamp! Michael was a great host and very open to feedback on how he can make the place even better for his guests. He has lots of ideas and is very excited to share this special place with others. The entire property is gorgeous and you can tell he has put a lot of effort into it. My dogs loved the easy access to the water and sniffing around the trails. The HipCamp is right on the Plover River. Occasionally kayakers and canoes will pass by. The water is fairly shallow through there, so it was great for the dogs to play and for us humans to wade in. There are areas that get deeper as well and a place by the rapids you can sit and have the water rush around you like a whirlpool. Tubes and kayaks are also available to take on the river. We did a bit of floating down the river on the tubes! Nice spacing between the sites. There is a central area between the sites with some games such as giant Jenga and disc golf. Firewood available to purchase onsite as well for a great price. The host, Michael, also has a small camper in this area but did not stay onsite, just came by to check on things and make sure we had everything we needed. Forgot to bring our tripod for cooking over the fire and he magically made one appear! Can’t wait to see what else Michael has in store for the property. Will definitely be back again! Thank you for an amazing weekend!

Weekend Trip to Wedges Creek Hideaway Pizza Farm!

This was our second time camping at Wedges Creek. We loved the first experience so much we came back with more people. We had campsites and cabins rented. Cabins 2, 3, 4 and 5. All we absolutely adorable. Clean and cozy! The campsites were 7 and 8. We enjoyed beautiful bonfires at night with a bonus of watching the wildlife walk along the fields. Take advantage of the woodfired Pizza! Amazing! Live music at night made for a fun night of dancing. Outdoor venue on nice days along with an indoor venue in case of weather. Jeff, the host, goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. Make sure you ask him for the story of Frog Town and take the tour if you can! Highly recommend! Already planning our 3rd trip!

3 nights at River to Ridge Farmstead

River to Ridge Farmstead was our first experience with Hipcamp and I have to say the bar has now been set really high! We loved it! The hilltop campsite was private and spacious with the most spectacular views. Ideal for my husband and I and our dog. It was a bird watchers paradise with so many interesting birds beyond the usual. We even heard a barred owl at night. There’s a lot to do in the area with both Brunet Island State Park and Wissota Lake State Park a short distance away. We had the best ice cream at Dylan’s Dairy in Cornell and enjoyed an afternoon in Chippewa Falls. It was so nice to explore the area during the day and relax at the campsite in the evening. The site was perfect for our 1708fb Minnie Winnie. We set up camp at the very top of the hill and experienced a cool breeze at night. We enjoyed a campfire in the evening and early morning coffee with the sunrise. We loved our stay at River to Ridge Farmstead. Everything was as described. We will definitely be back!

Although we hit a few snags in finding the site itself, Susan's property is as beautiful as pictured! Definitely a great stop over on our roadtrip.

Weekend Trip to Wedges Creek Hideaway Pizza Farm!

Great venue for camping, cabin stays, and hosting an event. Food and music (Beaux Jenkins) were phenomenal. Jeff is very welcoming and ensures any needs you might have are taken care of. We'll be back for sure!
