The Cabin in a 16x16 one room lofted 6 feet from ground with 2 decks just next to the path to the woods and entrance. It has a queen size bed, large flat screen, wifi, seasonal window A/C, small milk house heater, fan, hot pot, mini fridge, outdoor grill and microwave with various kitchen utensils. There is no running water in the cabin but there is a dry sink and outdoor Buckee. A large outdoor shower is just a short walk away at the main cabin with all the instant hot water that could be asked for. We have plenty of extras to share if you need something, if not a Dollar General is just a mile away. Please be aware there are poisonous plants and various wildlife that roam freely. No animal hunting allowed. Feel free to pick the mushrooms, were so close to the Morel capital of the country. We love pets and have adopted ours which roam freely. We’re sorry we can’t accommodate yours for that reason… we can recommend local accommodations for your fur babies.

Camp in style on a beautiful Driftless Farmstead!
This tiny valley farm once had stanchions to milk 8 cows in the barn. That was in 1890. Now we are home to sheep, steers, hogs, cats, dogs, chickens and myriad wild critters and pollinators and migrators. We are a conservation farm and on a mission to heal our wetland, improve our trout stream and bring people out to the land.
We are in Driftless Southwest Wisconsin - gorgeous hills and quilted cropland bisected by oak woods and switchback rivers. Pitch your tent, park a small camper/rv, or stay in one of our three vintage campers.

We can't wait to introduce you to all the livestock, cats, our Great Pyrr Willie and our Border Heeler Dolly! We are a five minute walk from our cute downtown with a playground, library and several great places to eat. Ten minutes from New Glarus Brewery. A half hour from Mineral Point (Fall Art Tour), Mount Horeb (Troll Way), Dodgeville (House on the Rock) and Monroe (Cheese Days).
Fifteen minutes from hiking, fishing and boating at Yellowstone Lake State Park. Campfire with s'mores every night, coffee and scones in the morning. Wifi is reliable on some spots on the property, and a sure thing on the front breakfast porch.

Our location is about 13 miles from the town of Viroqua, which has a wonderful Saturday morning farmer's market May-October, the renowned Driftless Cafe, and the Viroqua Food Co-op, among other things. The Organic Valley Food Co-op was established in this area in 1988, and the area in known for an abundance of fresh organic 'farm to table' food. The famous 'Driftless Books' is also found in Viroqua, along with live music on Court Street every other Saturday. Music in the Parks also offers live music in the area on Wednesdays throughout the summer.
We are 22 miles from the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, and a bit further North, from Ontario WI, one may embark by canoe or kayak, through some of the most stunning landscape to be found in Wisconsin.
This area is called The Driftless because it lacks glacial drift, which refers to the deposits of silt, gravel and rock that glaciers would have left behind had they passed through this part of Southwestern Wisconsin. The area is unique in that the land here was never flattened by the ice that came through most of the Midwest during the last glacial period/ice age. When glaciers were in surrounding areas, the melt-water sometimes made its way into the Driftless Area and contributed to the formation of the valleys and bluffs which characterize the landscape, which is known for steep hills, forested ridges, deeply carved river valleys, and karst geology with caves and spring-fed cold water trout streams. Ecologically, the Driftless Area's flora and fauna are more closely related to those of the Great Lakes region and New England than those of the broader Midwest and central Plains regions.

We bought the farmette with much work outside and home interior remodel to complete. We slowly turned the property into our family oasis. We neighbor a pasture with cows. There are free range chickens running around during the day. Geese greet us every evening and morning at the pond...as do the many bullfrogs. Occasionally you'll hear the coyotes, but they keep their distance. The stars shine peacefully and the sunsets are picturesque (most afternoons). The pond is a great place to swim and fish. The hillside is a nice walk for exercise or take the easier route and sit under the great oak tree in the other pasture. Campsites are off the road, behind our main home. You won't find a sign...we keep it simple.
We allow pets at the sites for a $5 per pet/per night. If you would like to bring a pet, please add the Pet Fee which is listed on the Extra during the booking process.

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: Driftless Retreat is a rustic, self-clean cabin with NO TOILET and NO RUNNING WATER. There is currently no usable toilet or outhouse on the property. Guests must bring their own portable camping toilet and supplies or make other arrangements, and all related waste must be removed from the property. Guests should also bring sufficient water for drinking, cooking, washing dishes, and tidying the cabin.

You’ll also find games, puzzles, and coloring books.
A reliable 52 Mbps fiber-optic internet connection makes the cabin suitable for remote work or for anyone who wants a secluded retreat while remaining connected.
Sleeping options include a pullout sofa that converts to a full-size bed, with a futon mattress that can be placed on top for additional comfort. Blankets and pillows are provided, but guests must bring their own sheets.

cabin is an off-grid, 12'X20' insulated structure, with a 7'X8' loft and a 12'X6' screened covered porch/deck. That overlooks a small stream and a cattail marsh. It is in the center of our 90 acres and is very private but near to some rural houses, only our house is (barely) visible in winter and you might see some lights of one other neighbor when the leaves are off the trees.
We are 1 and a half miles from the village of Belleville and 5 miles from New Glarus. The Badger State Trail runs across the western edge of our property. It connects with the Sugar River State Trail 8 miles away. Near by New Glarus has many shops, restaurants, Baily's Run winery and the famous New Glarus Brewery (tours daily). Everything can be easily reached by bike or, in season, snowmobile.
The marsh is a haven for all sorts of birds and wildlife. Spring brings an abundance of winged migrators and returning residents. There are: sand hill cranes, red wing blackbirds, a number of ducks; buffleheads, mergansers, woodducks, blue winged teal and shovelers just to name a few. The American woodcock can be heard overhead most spring mornings and evenings. The spring peepers (small frogs) are a symphony on their own and they continue into early summer. The woods has many spring flowers and the fall colors are wonderful. In summer there are many song birds like: bluebirds, finches, orioles, humming birds, cedar wax wings, robins, cardinals and herons. Sitting on the screened in deck one can hear a kaleidoscope of bird songs and activity. And an abundance of fireflies in later May through late July and then some.
The cabin is off-grid, what that means is: there is NO RUNNING WATER in the cabin and only a chemical toilet (port-a-potty). A limited amount of water is supplied for drinking and washing. There is a sink with a drain in the cabin but no bathroom or refrigerator so bring a cooler. Very limited electricity. There is basic LED lighting and you will be able to charge your phones/devices. The power is supplied from batteries/inverter charged by solar panels on the roof. There are LED lights and a coffee maker. There is NO air conditioning but excellent ventilation and a small, cozy wood stove for heat.
If you're uncomfortable or unfamiliar with a wood stove, it may not be wise to stay here in the winter heating season,
but we can show most people how to use the stove safely.
This is still considered "camping" so be prepared to bring camping gear: your own pillows, sleeping bag, food, drinks, cups, plates, cooking utensils etc. There are carryout options a short drive away. The only thing you won't need is a tent, the cabin is very cozy, warm on the cold days and cool on the warm ones and there is a picnic table, lawn chairs and a gas grill with a side burner. There are a few spots around the cabin for tents if you have additional friends staying. There is an additional charge for additional guests (over 2) but please be advised: any loud "parties" or disturbances and you will be asked to leave. This is a place to enjoy nature and quiet time. To get away from it all. No extra charge for children 12 or under.
Insects are a part of the woods environment, if you're afraid of bugs this may not be the right fit for you. We rarely have any real issues, so we're reluctant to use toxic chemicals to kill most (normal) bugs. Normal bug repellent is about all that is necessary.
Why we have this cabin; It's a way to share this special place that, judging from the artifacts found here has been a camping area for thousands of years. We want to let others enjoy the seasons; the return of the migrating birds, the spring peepers in the marsh, the fall colors, the silence of a winter day in the woods and the warmth of a wood stove. (many people have found the stove to be their favorite feature) The cabin gives you a front row seat in the middle of, comparatively, pristine nature. Campers will have access to our fine trails for hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and biking. (we would allow a snowmobile from the State trail to the cabin).

Please do your best to arrive/check in before dark!
The cabin is dark; no yard lights, no streetlights, and if it isn’t a moonlit night, it IS very dark. Some of you are not used to real darkness. We provide some flashlights and headlamps (if you forgot yours) and there are LED lights in the cabin we keep charged for you.
Camping headlamps are great for cooking, using the port-a-potty and finding your way around, etc.
Bring yours or you can borrow ours, just ask.

Take safety precautions with the wood stove and learn how to use it correctly.
The only source of heat in the cabin is a small, very nice wood stove.
Those without any experience with using wood for heat are advised not to stay at the cabin during the cold season. Those that are eager to learn--we can help you, but safety is very important and you must at least have some basic skills to handle wood heat: using a propane torch, using kindling, splitting wood, operating the stove airflow.

Campfires: Campfire wood can be purchased for a reasonable price @$10 for a tote, or @$20 for a large pot/container. We do allow people to bring their own if they are coming from less that 50 miles away. Some exceptions do apply.

It has been very enjoyable meeting the many campers. Everyone has been very well prepared and it has been a pleasure seeing them have fun. We especially have enjoyed the families with young children and people with their dog(s). All have been very well behaved and very enthusiastic.

Dogs are welcome, but please let us know if your dog does not get along well with other dogs, so we can let others know. We have a young golden retriever that is very friendly and does very well with other dogs, kids and all people. If your dog doesn't get along with others (dogs or people) please let us know in advance, so we can warn others and please, for safety, keep them on a leash.

This farm is ancestral land of the Sauk and Fox peoples and has been our home since 2001.
It offers diverse natural beauty including fresh springs and the Tetes des Morts

Imagine this: a wooded creekside. Bird song and wildflowers. Campfire and starlight. Our 8' x 16' tiny house offers the essentials for a back-to-nature getaway without the trouble. We provide a full bed, cookstove, basic cooking and eating utensils, 2 gallons drinking water, outdoor eating area, firepit, and hammock. Bath facilities are on the rustic side including a shower bag and port-a-potty. Short hiking path into the woods and up to the meadow are marked. Creek stomping and fossil hunting are encouraged. Caves, state and county nature areas, canoeing and kayaking are all nearby.

This is a 150 year old working farm, which has seen seven generations. We are happy to share a four acre wooded area. There isn’t any electricity
Whether you are a first time or experienced camper wanting to sleep outdoors. We have the perfect spot for you to rest, relax, and recharge while camping under the stars surrounded by trees in a four acre wooded area located on a quiet country road within a vast working farm in the heart of Jo Daviess, County.
Listen to the sounds of nature white spotting a variety of wildlife. Watch the sunrises, sunsets, comets, meteor showers, sometimes the northern lights, and the full moon rising over the hills. Watch the leaves turn color in autumn.
We offer three types of sites: basic Glamping, preset tent, and rustic. Check out the descriptions of the sites to see which site is for you. Limited sites - first come basis. We try to make each site as secluded as possible.. There are firewood stations throughout the sites with attached fire extinguisher. We are creating a gravel trek around the sites with two entrances and gravel parking planned be completed by 2028. We are working on flushable outhouses and possible showers. Children’s play area by 2027. There isn’t any swimming or fishing available on the farm property. There is a private lake three miles from the sites - see details under extras.
We are located ten miles from the Wisconsin border and villages with their unique shops and museums. 20 minutes from Galena, 45 minutes from the Mississippi River and Dubuque. Iowa. Three hours from Chicago. DNR - department of natural resources have properties a mile north of the farm with nice trails to walk near the Apple river, which is stocked twice a year for fishing tournaments. As well as the Boy Scout campgrounds located nearby. Locals have caught crayfish and swam in the Apple river, we are unfamiliar with current spots. People have tubed and canoed down the Apple river. There are numerous state parks within driving distance for hiking, sight seeing, eagle watching etc. Immerse yourself in the vast history of the area. Again we encourage you to come rest relax and recharge in this peaceful spot.

The private rustic cabin sits on a beautiful ridge. You will have a great view of the sky. Birds and wildlife watching along with listening to them.
The property is a second farm that has been in my family's history since the 1960's. We are a working crop, horses and beef cattle farm. We raise crops on this property. We have a main farm down the road that if you would like to visit, we can try setting that up so you can see the animals if you would like.
Please note that this is a one room cabin with a queen bed. There is a porta potty outside. The cabin does not have running water or electricity, but an extension cord can be brought and plugged into the outdoor electric outlet. The cord can be ran into the cabin to use the fan, lamp, infrared heater, electric water kettle, coffee pot and electric skillet. In the colder months there is an installed lp heater to use. There is a water hydrant outside for bathing or boiling. The water is non potable.
We have direct access to the property for ATV/UTV's for the public road use on the back roads. You can travel from town to town and sight see.
The property is between two towns and is close to places to see and things to do, driftless area history, wineries, caves, hiking, canoeing, fishing, sightseeing, river, streams and more.

The RV and property were well kept and exactly as listed. The hosts were kind enough to send us some flyers on what was happening in town for the weekend as well!
With the tent sites being near each other without being too close, having a playground, a private pond, and activities near the pond, this site is great for families

5 nights at Elysian View Farms
Christine makes a wonderful place to stay. I felt safe, comfortable, and at peace. She was available when I had questions about the area or just wanted to chat. The animals are gorgeous, and so is the landscape. Being nested within the Amish community was such a special experience for us. Free showers are easy to find nearby, the outdoor bathroom is nearby and lights up at night, the bed was comfortable, there are fans and a space heater for whatever you need, and there is plenty of equipment to feed yourself. I appreciated the s'mores kit, the bouquet from her garden, and the literature in the basket that tells all about the area and the lovely things to explore. Don't hesitate, this is a great place to stay.

Weekend Trip to Echo Valley Farm
My husband and I stayed in the Rustic Spring Cabin for two nights & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and cozy. We loved drinking our coffee on the front porch. We spent the majority of our time exploring Amish shops and nearby small towns. Ontario is a nice small town. There is a lot to do in this area and we are hoping to return in the near future with our kids in tow. The goods we preordered from the Bakery were delicious and Dena and Lauren were very warm and welcoming.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Echo Valley Farm in the Orchard cabin! It was small, but cozy and comfortable enough for the two of us. The property was beautiful and felt secluded even though we were near other cabins and the country road. The sheep strolled by us every morning and sometimes again later in the day. The valley is extremely charming and my wife just had to do some watercolor painting of the scenery (and sheep!). Dena was a great host, will stay again!
P.S- if you use Verizon you will not have data here! Which was fine for us :)

Dena was a wonderfully pleasant host along with Shay and Lauren.
The cabin was quaint, clean, and cozy. The property far surpassed my expectations. Being greeted by a flock of wayward sheep every morning over coffee????? Come on now!
This is a place for you to come and connect with yourself, each other and Pacha Mama.
RUNNING back to this place as soon as possible.
The feelings we shared here have enlivened us and are still carrying over into our week now.

This is the most peaceful place to unplug, unwind and just watch the day go by. Needing a break from my tourist town, found this gem about an hour away and now have my go-to decompress getaway! Weekend Trip to Healing Hills
The area around the cabin is stunning. The many winding country roads are poetic and mesmerizing, and the stars at night really light up the sky. We enjoyed how the cabin was stocked with many of the items we needed to prepare meals and be comfortable. We had a really great experience!

4 nights at Circle M Farm Stay: Camp or Glamp
Our stay at the Circle M farm was such a lovely experience! We stayed in one of the small campers for four days over the long Labor Day weekend. Kriss and her family — we met her husband, son, and grandson — were just wonderful hosts, and proactively took care of everything we needed. And the farm itself was perfect! The camper was comfy and cozy, with everything we needed immediately. The bathroom was spacious with everything we needed. The outdoor shower is now on my list for future home must-have's. And the animals — wonderfully friendly cats, dogs, sheep, pygmy goats, chickens, and pigs — added such a fun layer to our days.
In terms of nearby towns: Blancherville was a quick five-minute bike ride (on the vintage bikes Kriss offers!), and we were also able to explore Mt. Horeb, New Glarus, and Mineral Point — each with a great history, and fun local places to eat and drink.
Cannot recommend Circle M, Kriss, and her family enough! You'll have a relaxing, peaceful stay, with incredibly thoughtful hosts.

Weekend Trip to Beaver Point Cabin
Starting with booking, Dan was quick to respond with all the info needed for our stay. Great communication throughout. He greeted us up in the front on arrival and led us to the cabin. Dan and Anne were the nicest people, Marble the pup was great too.
The cabin was a great little spot to get away. It was clean, the outdoor fire pit and seating was perfect. The outhouse was clean. The shower was a great little bonus. All in all what a great property. It’s beautiful.

I thought Dell Pines was a beautiful campground. The campground was not normally my style with all the rvs stuffed together. I’m a tent camper and like private spots. I felt cabin J offered that fairly well since it faced the woods. There are cabins behind cabin j but this cabin feels more secluded than most. There is a walking trail nearby in which one can see people hiking, but there were few. I enjoyed that I could hop on trail so nearby. The cabin was clean and cute. No cooktop though so bring your own. Also recommend bring your own air mattress to place on top of the mattresses provided. Yes I would stay again. The front check in office was very friendly.

This place is a true getaway, peaceful and secluded, but still close enough to town that it never feels too remote. Dan was an incredible host, he even brought his dog Marble down to visit, which was such a nice touch, and he gave me plenty of space to just enjoy the solitude. The hiking trails around the property are easy to navigate and well sized, and having the creek right there made it even more special. And there are plenty of interesting Wisconsin books in the cabin for reading time. Genuinely the best getaway I’ve ever had, highly recommend.

I love staying at Elysium View Farm. It truly is heavenly. It was very hot when I visited but Christine was so kind and even loaned me a battery powered sprayer and a bucket so myself and my dogs could rinse off. There's beautiful views of all directions. Bonus: Christine even let me pick a bouquet of her gorgeous flowers. I just can't get enough of this place!
