Tucked into the hills of southwest Wisconsin, the Driftless Tiny House Retreat provides relaxing tranquility and down to earth amenities. This private property offers peace, quiet, and a chance to reconnect with nature. The partially off-grid tiny house site has its own yard and fire pit, and is secluded without feeling isolated, as there are two other cabins and my home 75-100 yards away. Only natural products are used in cleaning, washing, and even the porta potty is a chemical free. Rustic and cozy, the tiny house sleeps 2–4 people comfortably, with room for an additional tent in the yard. The maximum occupancy for the site (tiny house and tent) is 6 people total, with parking for a maximum of 2 vehicles. Fully furnished with a queen mattress, futon, plates, cups, etc~ just bring your own food and bedding (sheets, blankets, and pillows)! If you prefer not to bring your own, please select 1 or 2 “Bedding” rentals at checkout. Located about 5 miles west of La Farge and 10 miles east of Viroqua, and within a few miles of countless activities and attractions. You’ll find nearby hiking trails at Tunnelville Cliffs, Kickapoo Valley Reserve, Wildcat State Park, kayaking and canoeing access, swimming holes, world class trout fishing, farmers markets, Amish shops, and a vibrant mix of local organic food, arts, and handmade goods. We ask that there be NO alcohol or drug abuse on the property. We want people to connect with nature in peaceful way.Inside, you’ll find a cozy queen mattress in the loft and a futon on the main level. The tiny house has electricity, a full refrigerator, stove with oven, pots and pans, and some cooking basics (oil, salt & pepper). While there is no running water, fresh water is provided in the cabin for drinking and washing up. If you run low and need a refill, there is a well pump steps away. There is also an outdoor, chemical-free porta potty. Outside, enjoy a private yard with fire pit, a small deck and grill, and the quiet beauty of the surrounding landscape. We have three friendly outdoor cats who may come by to say hello. They love people and food, so please be mindful of not feeding them and keeping a close eye on your meals if you choose to eat outside. If you choose to bring a pet for an additional fee (select the “Pet” extra at checkout), please make sure they are leashed when outside. We may meet briefly at the start of your stay to go over the space, and afterward, you’ll have full freedom to enjoy the land and your own rhythm. I’m happy to say hello if we’re around or to answer any questions, but I also value my privacy. We kindly ask that you please do your dishes and put dirty sheets and towels in bathroom area on floor before leaving. Thanks! We also ask that there be no excessive alcohol or drug abuse on the property. You will be asked to leave if these rules are not respected. ALL folx are welcome here.
