The wooded area is next to my house. There's about 4 acres to explore and a gravel road rarely traveled for a nice walk to a view for a great sunset. Harrisonburg is 5 minutes from here and has lots of night life, micro breweries etc. I have long power cords if you need electric at the campsite. You may hear owls hooting at night. The campsite is under white pines with a thick bed of pine needles. There are several campsites under the red cedar trees that are naturally bug and mosquito resistant. Shenandoah National Park is about 45 minutes away if you go to the 33 entrance and 45 minutes away to go to the Luray entrance. Lots of bears there and hikes to waterfalls. No hunting there. Solar panels provide half of my energy needs. GW National forest has lots of hiking and mt biking and is half an hour away. Great views of the mountains from the campsite area. I'm dedicated to having lots of native plants and trees. I do not spray any pesticides. Plenty of free firewood. Not too far off interstate 81. I give tours of the mushroom farm whenever the weather isn't below freezing. I don't recommend anything larger than a conversion van. Very small pull behind campers are OK . All campers are required to leave every day from 1 to 5. Belongings may be kept here. There is a bathroom inside the house. No showers , please guys relieve yourself behind a tree instead of tying up a bathroom .. Harpine Highway is nearby and does have some trafffic noise but it's not close enough to discourage most campers.

Camp is wooded acreage centrally located between Massanutten Resort and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Currently very, very basic with improvements happening weekly. Currently 2WD is okay and some clearance preferred like Outback sized vehicles over all. A van can fit in site #3 (The Vanner) but will take a multi point turns to come and go. Country vibe but NOT remote. Close to restaurants, and outdoor activities near by making it a great BASE for activities such as mountain biking, road biking, hiking, skiing/boarding, and the floating/fishing on the South Fork of the Shenandoah River. A safe / legal place to park for the night. There is a hwy nearby so there is some noise from that but it doesn’t seem to bother most (see reviews). Sites are priced for the amenities they have or don’t and due to location.

Very close to Shenandoah National Park with many areas to hike, fish, camp, and kyak! An outdoorsmans retreat!
Great space, easy to get to sites, bathhouse, large open Dog Park, play areas, pool is nice!
Camp has a small store on site, not too far from Luray (a Walmart, auto shops, and restaurants if you need more things.)
10/10 would recommend and return if I can.

I loved camping at Spacious Skies. It was clean, well maintained, and family friendly. The site was good sized and easy to get in and out of. Our RV full hook-up site was fairly level with only minor side-to-side and front-to-back leveling needed. Our site was maybe 30 feet from the river - great background noise to enjoy an evening around the firepit, although didn't see any trout. Be aware, the locals cruise the streets and off road trails on noisy quads. This absolutely stopped after dark. As for nearby activities: definitely drive to Helvetia, park and walk the town. If you can visit before the end of June 2026 drop by the authentic swiss store/post office - they are closing the doors at the end of June. Definelty book a reservation at The Hutte for early dinner (they close at 6PM) for traditional swiss/German cuisine. Walk through the restaurant- it's like a local historic museum. Everybody is super friendly so remember to wave. Take it easy on the roads with your rig - they are very winding and hilly.

Easy breezy! We arrived late and a “late arrivals” packet was waiting for us. Our site was clean and the hookups worked perfectly. The trash area was also clean. The little store was really cute but limited - so come prepared.
Neighbors were quiet. Views beautiful!
They even have a dog park!!
