Located on 600 acres, we have developed the previously used agriculture land into a trail center in hopes of transforming the property from an underutilized farm into a facility that could support local outdoor recreation use and programming. Currently there are 14 miles of purpose built trails, with plans to install up to 30 miles of natural surface trails that will create access to and feature the natural beauty of the property, which includes open meadows, mature hardwood forests, rock outcroppings, an area of volcanic activity, seven freshwater springs, headwater streams (including Brook Trout habitat), and three distinct knobs. These features provide a rich and unique landscape for a trail system. With so much here, there is no need to leave the property. What makes W.T. Farm special is the diversity of textures of the landscape. We have great mountain top views, as well as, a deep holler with cliffs, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. The fields are full of fruit and nut trees and there are 5 ponds. Each of these supports its own flora and fauna. I acquired stewardship of this land 35 years ago and have developed perennial orchards wherever possible. I started with pears and have branched out into pawpaws, apples, persimmons, currants, black walnuts etc. and I boast that I planted the first commercial hickory oil orchard in the world. I am an eccentric horticulturalist and graft cultivar varieties onto existing trees like oaks, hickories, black walnuts, and even the maligned invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive and multiflora rose. Just last year I bought an adjoining farm that opened up 50 acres of more orchard planting. It is on top of the mountain and offers an expansive view of the valley and ridge system that defines our region. Funny thing is that because the land between the old farm and the new farm is divided by cliffs in the holler the only way to get from one to the other is a 12 minute drive or vigorous hiking. On this new land is a historic log cabin I am renovating that is said to be one of the original settler's cabin on the mountain. Because of the amount of tree fruit I grow and the varied landscape, there is a rich diversity of birds and animals to be seen. One of my favorite walks is along the cliffs to the top waterfall where there is a sweet wading pool. I have also built a number of ponds and four of them are quite swimmable. One has a dock and is where we spend much summer time refreshing and frolicking. The farm is also a small (very small) licensed farm winery and we make and sell traditional hard cider from our apples and pears. Our cider can be purchased along with our nut oils and flours and other farm produce you may not be familiar with. We live to eat. Coming here is a gastronomical adventure! I run the Acornucopia project from here and from it we are developing a foragers network that would very much suit the lifestyle of hipcampers. We pay foragers for wild nuts they gather. What makes W.T. Farm special is the diversity of textures of the landscape. We have great mountain top views, as well as, a deep holler with cliffs, rock outcroppings, and waterfalls. The fields are full of fruit and nut trees and there are 5 ponds. Each of these supports its own flora and fauna. I acquired stewardship of this land 35 years ago and have developed perennial orchards wherever possible. I started with pears and have branched out into pawpaws, apples, persimmons, currants, black walnuts etc. and I boast that I planted the first commercial hickory oil orchard in the world. I am an eccentric horticulturalist and graft cultivar varieties onto existing trees like oaks, hickories, black walnuts, and even the maligned invasive honeysuckle, autumn olive and multiflora rose. Just last year I bought an adjoining farm that opened up 50 acres of more orchard planting. It is on top of the mountain and offers an expansive view of the valley and ridge system that defines our region. Funny thing is that because the land between the old farm and the new farm is divided by cliffs in the holler the only way to get from one to the other is a 12 minute drive or vigorous hiking. Absolutely love this place! I stayed on a Saturday in November, it was quiet so I can’t speak to busy periods. It’s a beautiful mixed camping space, uniquely designed with cool amenities everywhere from goats, libations, and food to bike rentals and a bike track. As a solo traveler, I felt safe, remote enough yet close enough to dining and the local town. It’s a gorgeous property with amenities and touches that most campgrounds can’t offer. I slept soundly beneath the stars, woke early, walked along the goats and enjoyed a warm shower in a warm bathroom. I highly recommend and look forward to visiting in the spring!

Weekend Trip to Olde Tyme Cabins

The location was perfect! We felt secluded in our little camp and were able to hike up the hillside nearby. We loved the campfire with the lights strung around, and there were roasting sticks in one of the RV cubbies. The hot tub was amazing. We did get rained out of the hot tub, since there is no awning over it, but once the rain stopped, we were able to enjoy again. The master bed was comfortable, and the bunk beds have a curtain to keep lights out for later sleepers. We camped in mid-November and stayed warm and cozy the whole time. Our only complaint was the water. It never quite worked well enough to shower, and washing dishes was frustrating. We did let our hosts know, and they came quickly to work on it, which helped for a short while, but didn't last the duration.

Excellent place to stay. I rented an RV pad close to the bathhouse for a chilly couple of days and it was clutch. The Bike Farm has everything you need; including firewood, a bar/restaurant, a bike shop and GOATS. It's also conveniently located near the town of Fayetteville and less than 5 minutes from the Bridge. Excellent stay during the down season.

The camp site was in a clearing along woodline in a secluded location. Very accommodating and scenic. I noticed each campsite was similarly situated affording privacy and good separation from the others. It was also extremely clean. The leaves had been blown clear of the path to the outhouse, which was well stocked with tp. The view of the nightsky was as advertised. I highly recommend this campsite for it's ease of access, beautiful location, and seclusion.

The host was extremely affable and respectful , which made for a very pleasant atmosphere. The detailed guide with pictures about all the nearby attractions was a very useful and heartfelt touch, my sincere thanks to Steve's wife. My expectations were not just met but exceeded in all departments so, I would rate my experience more than 5 stars. I hope to come back soon to further explore the trails.

The camp site was easy to find and well suited for us. It was quiet as we were the only ones in the campground. We heard the train, but it wasn't loud. There was the howling of coyotes in the evening and a distant rooster crowing in the morning all adding to the ambiance. I was in campsite 1 which was very close to parking. The water tap up near the garden was convenient and tasted wonderful. I would stay here again but have one caution. Check yourself for ticks. I found one crawling on me and the next day found another one attached.

We enjoyed our stay at the bikefarm. I honestly did not know what to expect as we never stayed nor heard of a bikefarm before. The location was perfect and super close to the Long Point Trail Head, New River Gorge National Park, and Fayetteville. The shower/bath house was clean and a short walk from the site. Very peaceful. We felt safe. The bike park was cute, but the goats on the property were even cuter! We would definitely come back here.

Had a fantastic time! Amazing value for the money. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Loved having a kitchen, shower, private bathroom, fire pit, outdoor propane grill, plenty of outdoor seating and a nice bed in a heated RV all for less than some local campgrounds charge for an empty cabin with no amenities. Steve is a great host as well. Checked in via messages to see if we needed anything, made sure we were comfortable despite the weather getting near freezing at night, then left us to ourselves to enjoy our weekend. It was the perfect retreat away from the city. Crisp Fall nights, starry skies and a crackling campfire. It doesn’t get any better than that!

This area was known by the Native Americans as "Pocatalico" (land of the fat doe), and first settled by Europeans around 1890. The property itself was first settled by a man named Mayford Jones, who set the first stones here around 1910. A Jenny Lynn style farmhouse was built and the property was known as one of the best developed farms in the area. Today, the forest has returned to what was once pasture land on the majority of the 100 acre plot, and a small but intensive sustainable forest farm has been taking shape since 2013 under the current host and occupant, who prefers the term "steward" rather than "owner".

The Renovated Barn at Seneca Rocks is an actual barn, located on a little farm, complete with farm animals! Goats, chickens, peacocks, ducks, and a pig live at the other side of the barn. The Barn is located on a one acre lot, shared with the host's home. I give guests privacy while they are here, but I do come out to the barnyard twice a day to feed and tend the animals. The property is very close to many outdoor recreation areas such as Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob, Dolly Sods, and Canaan Valley where visitors can rock climb, hike, zipline, ski, etc, etc! *Adults aged 18 and older only, sorry no exceptions. The property is pet friendly for a charge of $10 per pet, per night (to be left in cash on departure). We are close to Historic Berkeley Springs and love sharing this piece of heaven with people like yourself. If you do not like the big camp grounds and just want a nice spot with a view to pitch a tent, or set up your camper, then you found it . A little about Mountain View Mini Farm. We are just minitues outside of Historic Berkeley Springs WV and 15 minutes from Cacapon State Park. You will have Great Views of the stars from your site. The sites are not far from our barn, and we will leave one tractor bay open for you, just in case it was to rain and you want to use it as shelter. The sites are not perfect level so you will have to level your camper a little. You will have your own fire ring and picnic table, also you will have access to fresh water. You will need a good size water hose if your going to hook up water to your camper from site 1. We have electric hookups that are 20amp Only. There is a clean outhouse but no shower at this time. We are working on making a shower. There is plenty of room for outdoor yard games. You will hear a little road noise and we do have neighbors. You will see me and my family out working around and feeding animals at times. The hosts house is not to far from the campsites. This is just a peaceful piece of property on a mini farm to get away and relax and explore Berkeley Springs WV. We are also only 15 minutes to Cacapon River for Kayaking and Swimming. We are also only 15 minutes to the C&O canal for hiking and biking. We do sell firewood for $7.00 that's around 13 pieces of wood. There is cornhole by the ice-cream shack that you are welcome to play. There will be more things added to the property in the near future. So come on out to the mountains and be our guest.

Welcome to Our Homestead Campground! Our secluded 80-acre farm is nestled in a valley between three mountains, where two babbling creeks meet—over two miles from the nearest residence. We raise chickens, ducks, and pigs while practicing permaculture and organic farming, using solar energy for parts of our operation. Enjoy the peace and quiet of our hideaway with modern conveniences like electricity and internet. We’re happy to share our homestead lifestyle or simply provide a quiet place for you to relax. Camp at the Main Circle near our home trailer, cabana, and bonfire area, with access to electricity and Wi-Fi. For a more rustic experience, Kolb Field offers a peaceful spot along Coon Creek, shaded by a majestic walnut tree. You’re also welcome to camp almost anywhere on the property to find your perfect spot. A lightly traveled public dirt road runs through our property. While an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, regular cars can access the site, and we have parking for standard vehicles. Please check with us in advance if you plan to bring an RV. Our farm is a great destination for overland camping—perfect for getting your truck a little dirty! We are cautiously dog-friendly. Our farm dogs patrol the property to protect our free-roaming animals, so visiting dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and comfortable around other animals. If you're unsure about compatibility, please reach out for advice. Our dogs will come to your camp to "check you out". If your dog has a problem with other dogs that are new to them you must let us know so we can control our dogs. We have had people come with problem dogs and not tell us so, we are asking for a $1 extra that we now require as a pet fee. While you're here, visit our local businesses in Gassaway. At Bigfoot Braxxie's Bikes, you can rent a bike and explore the 40-mile Elk River Rail Trail. Trailhead Farm Meats & More offers our farm-raised, all-natural meats and other local products.
