Learn more about this land: Secluded camp site, next to a salmon spawning creek in the forest. Picnic table seats 4 adult people comfortably. Short walk on a trail from parking. Portable toilet is now on a trailer and at the camp site. Nearby trail head for hiking and mountain biking in the greater forest. Check the calendar: If the site is vacant the night before your stay, you can check in early on that day. If the site is vacant the next night of your check out day, stay as long as you like. Let me know when you would like to check in, so that I can be there to meet you. Any combination of adults and children that can sit comfortably at a 6-foot picnic table is not a problem. Host does not receive text messages, only a land line with an answering machine, (old school). If you need to communicate, use the 425 # and please leave a message. Host goes to Safeway in town, daily, in the morning to check e-mail and Hipcamp messages and reply to Guests. Several guests have gotten lost relying on GPS only to find the property. Most do not have an issue. I suggest that you check with Google Map or another map service to know approximately where you are going. Plan on packing out your garbage and recycle trash, we have had a problem with bears raiding the trash cans. June 2022 just installed a park style grill. Bring your charcoal briquettes, grilling tools and steaks. Firewood is available at Safeway for about $8.00 a bundle. Host provides firewood for $10.00 a large tub, firewood is located at the camp site, pay cash at the camp site. Bring a small axe or a chopping tool to make kindling.

We can't wait for you to experience this tiny house in the woods. Check back weekly to see our progress photos! We call this a treehouse but it's technically supported by posts (nicer to the trees). There is a fullsize high end queen memory foam bed on the upper floor. Yes, this is a 2 story treehouse! On the second floor there is also a children's sleeping loft which overlooks the rest of the bedroom. This loft is suitable for a small child or 2 but headroom is only a few feet. We found it also requires some youthfull agility to get up there. A beautiful knotty alder slidding barn door leads from the bedroom to a private bathroom with pedestal sink and odorless composting toilet. There is a small kitchen with a coffee maker, mini fridge, induction cooktop, mini crockpot, and enough dishes and glasses to enjoy a simple meal or drink. Water pressure in the kitchen and throughout is good! There is a soaking tub on the main floor near the fireplace and TV with free Netflix. This luxury tub is sure to be a favorite amongst guests. I designed a non traditional floor plan knowing that this would be used primarily as a couples retreat. You can literally be soaking in the tub and watching TV by the fire while your significant other is preparing a meal in the kitchen all in the same space. We find the layout very romantic and unlike anything else out there. There is also a large hot tub avalible for our guests near the main house. You are welcome to use this hot tub anytime if you don't mind it being by the main home. Free Wifi. No cable TV but we supply Netflix on the hi-speed guest network. Guests will have free parking in our large circular driveway suitable for cars, trucks, or even RVs under 31ft.

A creek to your right and chickens to the left, this camp is out in the rural country side on a couple acres. The creek is beautiful and you'll hear it from camp. In November the salmon come up to spawn so you might hear them splashing. The Centennial Trial head is about a mile away where you will find a long railroad grade paved trail excellent for biking and walking. There are tons trails in the North Cascades up the Mt. Loop Rd outside of Granit Falls which is just 15 minutes north of camp. These are also hiking and mountain biking trails at Lords Hill Regional Park 15 min from camp or up the highway 2 corridor. Enjoy downtown Snohomish's restaurant scene and breweries, or head over to wine country in near-by Woodinville. This site can accommodate up to a 40' RV and there is plenty of room for tents too. There is water and a 50 amp outlet, plus a regular old 20 amp plug in. There is parking for up to 2 vehicles. Our home is about 50 yard away. We will be out tending to the chickens and building our garden space. Maybe riding bike around with the kids. Our dog puts on a guard dog act but really just wants you to throw a stick for him. Dogs are okay but they should be on a leash to keep them off the road and out of the chicken coop.

Larry and Dolly McMurtrey purchased the Delveccio farm in 1975 next door to this farm. The farm offered an exciting new venture after retirement. The McMurtrey's had many fun and unique ideas. They purchased truck loads of scrap glass to resell as fish glass, which is still seen today in the parking lot. They grew bamboo and sold imperfect veggies that farmers were going to throw away. Eventually they landed on Christmas trees. To expand their ventures, they leased this land for many years then eventually sold the Delveccio land and purchsed this farm in 1998. Today, Larry and Dolly's daughter and son-in law, Jana and Pablo Sifuentes have grown the family business to provide wonderful memories to the community during the holiday season. Tent camping is 4 to 6 total soft pads in the forest near the parking sites. Note: Ames Creek does dry up in mid-summer. For large RVs maneuvering skills are required to park on the level 23 ft long parking pads in the parking area down the hill from the road. It is a U-shaped drive-through, flat at the bottom of the small driveway hill. This is a great private spot for an RV or similar vehicles and 2 tent circles. A firepit, and porta-potty next to each pad, another firepit in one of the 2 tent circles for each RV parking pad site. A completely natural untouched Pacific moss rainforest about 30 miles inland on the foothills of the Mount Baker–Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington State. Some areas it is likely no one has ever walked on. Bring mosquito repellent. Be aware of kids and dogs near road entrances, as well as near the creek in the winter. It is located near major fun sites, it is a wilderness playground! Ames Creek dries up mid-July and returns in Sept/Oct. There are a lot of little paths crisscrossing the creek, likely raccoon and deer trails. We are happy to have your dogs visit - they will love it! Welcome to The Landing at Index - located on the South Fork Skykomish River, in the western foothills of the Cascade Mountains, off of Highway 2. With 16 acres of beautiful, private woods and breathtaking views of Mt. Index, this is a wonderful getaway to kick back and relax after your day of adventures, or just to escape the city rush. This is a gated property, protected with a code, which you will be sent 24 hours before your arrival. The campsites are at the bottom of a long logging road so an SUV or AWD vehicle are preferable , especially during the wetter seasons. When the property was logged approximately 100 years ago they scooped out gravel from the river to make their roads in the area thus creating the back eddy pool along the beach. A rather peaceful setting, including the rushing sound of the river and the occasional whistle of a train. You will feel refreshed and rejuvenated after you stay at The Landing. Pets are welcome, there are private outhouses at each campsite. These outhouses are protected with a code, which is sent to you 24 hours before your arrival. 1 night at Valhalla Tree Farm

What a fantastic spot. Valhalla Tree Farm is the perfect place to unplug and get cozy. The off-grid cabin was simple and comfortable, and the propane heater kept us toasty the whole time. Even with the water shut off for the season, everything was easy to manage, and the covered fire pit meant we could still enjoy a fire while it sprinkled most of the trip. Shannon was super helpful and responsive, and we loved being able to wander the property and let the dog run around off-leash. The backdrop of the escarpment is beautiful and makes the place feel extra special. Honestly, I’m almost hesitant to hype it up too much because I do not want to fight for dates next time. We’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to Valhalla Tree Farm

We had such a lovely time at Valhalla. The directions were easy to follow and the grounds were gorgeous. We knew it was going to rain the entire weekend we were there but we didn't care. We took beautiful hikes through the woods and it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. They have done a wonderful job making Valhalla a peaceful piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of city life. We’ll definitely be back!

Valhalla tree farm is beautiful and so serene. The different birds calling and talking through the sounds of trees moving in high winds, so good! The pup and I went exploring through the property and trails feeling like we were fully in Ferngully. Our shelter camp site on Huckleberry Hill was perfect. Dave clearly puts a lot of thought and care into providing the best experience. Not only was he communicative and responsive, but he was also accommodating. Thanks to the shelter at our site, we didn’t drown in the torrential downpour! This property is highly rated, the pup and I agree 💯

We had a lovely Fall stay this weekend in our little camper. We loved the sounds of the coyote calls through the night. They were quite talkative but it was fun to hear the wildlife around us! My dog really enjoyed having the freedom and space to run and play. The quaint town of Duvall is super close so we enjoyed a beautiful brunch before packing up for home.

Loved the site, will say be on the lookout though on wild animals as we had an overnight visit from some coyotes so keep that in mind for small animals if off leash. Only con is mainly a 1 way road once in property so when we arrived there was another vehicle trying to leave so caused some issues. Overall beautiful and clean worth the trip over!
