Just 90 minutes from either Portland or Seattle, this cozy glamping site is located on 220 secluded acres of private wilderness along the Chehalis River. Sleep in a cozy queen-size bed! There's propane heat, power, WIFI, and a lovely stone firepit. Come relax, hike, and explore! This wilderness campsite is located down a 2-mile gravel logging road which is steep and bumpy in a few places! Four-wheel drive is recommended in the wettest part of the winter, and please drive carefully any time of the year in whatever vehicle you bring. As a guest, you are free to access any part of the 220-acre property except other campsites (there is currently only one). This listing is located on The Riverbend Preserve, a private nature park, so there is no hunting, fishing, or foraging. Please do not discharge any firearms during your stay. The forest to the west of the Preserve is Washington State land, and on occasion locals go up into the hills to target shoot. In the unlikely event that this happens during your stay, don't be alarmed; the British are *not* coming. This land is a nature preserve with lots of wildlife. You're welcome to bring your pet, but keep small animals close to you as there are coyotes and predatory birds in abundance. Black bears and mountain lions also live in the hills, so please always be cautious while hiking and exploring. If you use AT-T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, or most major carriers you can expect good cell service. Single use or small cellular carriers may have intermittent signal or no signal at all after you leave the City of Chehalis behind. The family's ancestors settled here after traveling with the Willie Kiel wagon train from the Midwest. Nearby is the monument to Willie Kiel and the historical family cemetery. The 7-acres includes a stream with fish, walking trails, eagles and other wildlife, and cattle nearby. Rehabilitation efforts are underway, with the addition of a water supply and a recently planted Upick garden. This spot was awesome! Private but very close to the beach and town. My bestie booked the other spot so we shared the whole site to ourselves for Friendsgiving. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The covered spot was awesome to park out trailer under. Would love to return in summer. Thank you!

The location of these sites are amazing. Easy access to the beach and main road in town. We stayed under cover but the other site wasn’t booked so we had the place to ourselves very spacious and all the hook ups were easy and worked perfectly. Quiet area. Would recommend to anyone.

Weekend Trip to Glamping In The Wild

Had the best glamping trip in Pe Ell with my family—total private preserve with our own swimming hole and no crowds, just us and nature. Our dog loved roaming off-leash the whole weekend. It was super relaxing and honestly an ideal escape from the Labor Day chaos. Huge bonus: Marc (the host) was really responsive, answering questions fast and making sure we felt welcome the whole time. Can’t wait to go back!

3 nights at Pacific Shores Hideaway.

We had a wonderful time here. The camping area was very private and I like that it was gated. The grounds were nice, surrounded by trees and bushes, so it felt like being in your own private park. We were the only people there the first night, and the couple who came for the rest of the weekend were very nice. All the hookups worked fine and it was really nice to have them. It was a healthy walk to the beach, but you could hear the ocean from the camping area. It’s too bad there was a burn ban, because we could have had our own campfire, but there was also a covered communal fire pit that looked very inviting. Elisa obviously worked hard to make it such a nice place to camp, and we will definitely go there again.

Abby’s place is in a great location. Close to everything. We walked to dinner and could have walked to many other things. The beach is just a short drive away. We were able to let the dog out on her cord and she had room to move around. There wasn’t anyone staying in the house while we were there which made it more comfortable for us. The full hookups are always appreciated! There is some road noise but it gets quiet at night. Thanks for sharing your space with us.

I loved the pure tranquility of this place. Really private BUT with all the amenities you would find within a house like fridge, fan, microwave, and more. There is a trail thats about 15 mins or from the tent that leads to a gem of river swimming area that was BEAUTIFUL. The shower and bathroom are right behind the outside of the tent and were nice too. Will def be back when I have the chance.

We LOVED this spot!!! We were fortunate enough to have it all to ourselves for the full stay. It’s private, quiet and in a great location. The dog had the full run of her cord and we were able to let her off to chase the ball some as well. You can drive out on the beach from the main road very close by. We would absolutely camp here again if we’re ever back out this way. Thank you for sharing the great spot! The owners do have security cameras on the property.
