Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Rainier. There is a lot of history on this property for our family and we hope by sharing it with others they will be able to experience some fun here as well.

Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, family reunions, workshops, or what have you. A rustic kitchen, two 6' folding tables (bring tablecloths), and a fire pit with accessories make setting up camp a cinch. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest and farm, there is something of interest here for everyone. If you're looking to explore the area, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. We are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect meet in the middle vacation. Locally, Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe lakes provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Even closer, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing opportunities, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids and is just five minutes down the road. Enjoy communing with our goat, chicken and duck friends. The local fauna include deer, skunk, coyote, rabbit, weasel, and possum. Bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a play field (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, badminton set and lawn games. We are Judy and Summer and Chula, mother and daughter and dog, and we are pleased you are considering a stay with us. Campers are welcome to harvest apples and pears in the fall when they are in season! Half of the land, 2.5 acres is a forest of pine and alder trees which hosts incredible wild life: a family of fox, Northwest bats, Northern Pygmy owls, Spotted owls, Northern flickers, Pileated woodpeckers, red ants, deer, elk, rabbits, snakes, mice and million more insects and birds. Nestled between three of the most magnificent mountains in the Pacific NorthWest, and backing on to the Pinot Gifford National Forest, this delightful farm is surrounded by open space, beautiful views and forest trails. With zero light pollution, a myriad of stars fill the clear night sky here, and the only sounds that break the utter peace of an evening are the sounds of nature. We are located 1hr and 40 minutes from Mount Rainier National Park and 2.5 hrs south of Seattle. We have 3 tent sites and 2 tent/RV sites available. For the RV sites, we can accommodate vehicles under 45ft in length and the sites are flat. Electrical hookup available: Both 30 amp plus 50 amp hookups are suitable for RV and electric vehicle charging. Regular Electric sockets are also available in the studio barn for charging devices. Water hookup available and TV hookup available. Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban. Pets are allowed. Flush toilet available. Potable water is available. Cooking equipment provided. Wifi available. Wildflowers, bees, and pollinators are plentiful, and star gazing is fantastic on clear nights. Our property is next to National Forest land, perfect for hiking, foraging, and hunting. We're 5 minutes from Mineral Lake, 5 miles from Alder Lake, 10 miles from Ashford, and 15 miles from the Nisqually entrance of Mount Rainier National Park. Our rental property was once a mini Rail Road with full size locomotive's, train cars, pumper cars and more. My dad & grandpa layed all the tracks & put together the buildings in the 1970's. Once done my grandma sold tickets to the tourist and my grandpa ran the engine around the 7 acre oval track pulling a train car full of happy tourist through the woods over the train bridge and past the big water tower back to their vehicles so they could finish their journies with a drive to Mt. Rainier. There is a lot of history on this property for our family and we hope by sharing it with others they will be able to experience some fun here as well.

"Osborne's Den" (tiny A-Frame Cabin) and "The Moose Site" (a full hook up RV/Camp site) both nestled on this quaint 1/2 acre lot (they rent separately... not together). Just minutes from Mt. Rainier National Park. "Osborne's Den" has basic power inside the building and a water spigot just outside. There is a queen sized bed (you bring your own bedding). There is a shared Honeybucket Toilet just across the driveway. You will see the other details in the "site listing" "The Moose" is a level, graveled RV/Camping site. Water and 30 AMP and 20 AMP power and sewer connection. Each site has it's own picnic table, firepit and chairs... perfect for relaxing. Short 10 minute walk/hike down to the Nisqually River.
