We bought this land in 2017, there were 7 derelict mobile homes on the property. We cleaned up the area and remodeled the house next door and put in the 5 RV sites. The sites are just a couple feet from the bay with access to miles of beach hiking. The property is situated on the very south end of Henderson Inlet. We are on the tide flats so twice a day (at high tide) we have the opportunity to explore on the water in canoes and kayaks. The property is spread over 16 acres and is comprised of two large fields (one in front of our home and the other is a smaller meadow off to the side (hidden meadow) and forest land. There is tons of space for playing, exploring and tiring out your kids and pups! Wildlife is abound with eagles, hawks, owls, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who wonder through and say hi. About the campground: The campground is located in the far northeast corner of the property on the edge of the forest and meadow. In the common areas you will find the porta potty, shower and sink. There is also a supply closet that has the yard games and extra supplies. There is a hot tub situated right on the edge of the forest with peek-a-boo views of the inlet. You will also find garbage and recycling bins. There are trails throughout the forest along the 600 feet of water (tide) front. Along the trails you will find several different benches, seats and swings to relax and enjoy nature from. There are also fairies and gnomes who have been sighted in the forest. If you look closely, you might spot one too! We ware, if you touch a fairy or gnome they do lose their magical powers so please respect the mystical creatures. 😊 The sites are about 500 feet from our house and offer great privacy. We are fortunate to live here, and we want to share the beauty with you. Please stay here and take a moment free of worry and free of hurry. About the hosts: Camas and her father, Randy, co-host this property. One or both will be onsite at all times should any issue arise. Please message if you need a last-minute booking and it appears to be blocked. We can't do an "instant book," but there's always a possibility that we can accommodate you. About the site: This 17-foot 2005 Jay Feather Ultra Lite trailer is clean and cozy - perfect for one or two people. A third person is welcome, but it will likely be a little cramped. The double bed has a memory foam mattress and is made-up with quality sheets. Towels are provided at no extra cost. The kitchen has a 3 burner propane stove and oven, a small fridge, a microwave, and sink. Coffee, tea, tea kettle, French Press, creamer, and sugar are provided, as well as a few dishes, a pot and pan, and utensils. The spring water is sourced directly from our property and filtered, so you can enjoy it from the tap! In my opinion, it's some of the best water around - feel free to fill up before you depart. The site is set back from WA-State Route 106, but only by about 20 yards. There is traffic noise during the day, but it's not too bad, and it is typically pretty quiet at night. Hopefully you enjoy the sounds of wildlife ~ birds, lapping waves, and even a creek add to the experience. A panoramic view of the estuary is one of the best parts of this property. It's dreamy, really. With the tide changing every 6 hours, you just can't get bored. You may fall asleep to tide flats and wake up to what feels like a lake. If you like being on or in the water - bring some kayaks, surf or paddle boards, and some high quality water shoes (never go barefoot!). You will have access to 400 feet of private beach and tide flats. Kayaking is tide dependent - recommendations for paddle times will be in the binder. (Currently closed to harvesting 6/23) If you have your shellfish license, feel free to harvest a few oysters or clams (depending on DOH recommendations) . Be aware - it is a rustic beach, and it is across the highway, so watch for traffic and watch your step on the beach. Our house is within sight of the trailer, but you have to make an effort to see it. From our house, we can only see the parking spot, and due to shrubbery & a shed, we can't hear talking voices, so it is pretty private. We do have 2 very friendly, small dogs who will undoubtedly alert us to your arrival, but they stay on our deck and quiet down right away. A welcome binder and maps will help you get an idea of the area. For a tiny town, Union has a LOT to offer - there are several dining choices within a few miles. Union was even listed in the top 10 "Prettiest Towns in America" in Forbes Magazine in 2009! Learn more about this land: One of a kind view of the Skokomish Estuary and Olympic Mountains. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. In the coming years I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river ACCESS too!! My family bought this property from a wonderful man renowned in the world of plant pathology. My father once asked him, "George, what is the secret to a long and happy life?" George took a deep breath and exhaled. He smiled, a twinkle in his eye, and said, "Randy, (dramatic pause), don't worry, {another lengthy pause) don't hurry." We are fortunate to live here, and we want to share the beauty with you. Please stay here and take a moment free of worry and free of hurry. About the hosts: Camas and her father, Randy, co-host this property. One or both will be onsite at all times should any issue arise. Please message if you need a last-minute booking and it appears to be blocked. We can't do an "instant book," but there's always a possibility that we can accommodate you. About the site: This 17-foot 2005 Jay Feather Ultra Lite trailer is clean and cozy - perfect for one or two people. A third person is welcome, but it will likely be a little cramped. The double bed has a memory foam mattress and is made-up with quality sheets. Towels are provided at no extra cost. The kitchen has a 3 burner propane stove and oven, a small fridge, a microwave, and sink. Coffee, tea, tea kettle, French Press, creamer, and sugar are provided, as well as a few dishes, a pot and pan, and utensils. The spring water is sourced directly from our property and filtered, so you can enjoy it from the tap! In my opinion, it's some of the best water around - feel free to fill up before you depart. The site is set back from WA-State Route 106, but only by about 20 yards. There is traffic noise during the day, but it's not too bad, and it is typically pretty quiet at night. Hopefully you enjoy the sounds of wildlife ~ birds, lapping waves, and even a creek add to the experience. A panoramic view of the estuary is one of the best parts of this property. It's dreamy, really. With the tide changing every 6 hours, you just can't get bored. You may fall asleep to tide flats and wake up to what feels like a lake. If you like being on or in the water - bring some kayaks, surf or paddle boards, and some high quality water shoes (never go barefoot!). You will have access to 400 feet of private beach and tide flats. Kayaking is tide dependent - recommendations for paddle times will be in the binder. (Currently closed to harvesting 6/23) If you have your shellfish license, feel free to harvest a few oysters or clams (depending on DOH recommendations) . Be aware - it is a rustic beach, and it is across the highway, so watch for traffic and watch your step on the beach. Our house is within sight of the trailer, but you have to make an effort to see it. From our house, we can only see the parking spot, and due to shrubbery & a shed, we can't hear talking voices, so it is pretty private. We do have 2 very friendly, small dogs who will undoubtedly alert us to your arrival, but they stay on our deck and quiet down right away. A welcome binder and maps will help you get an idea of the area. For a tiny town, Union has a LOT to offer - there are several dining choices within a few miles. This is a camping location with ACCESS to the river, access to OUR farm land, ponds and DNR land. Our camp spots are private and not stacked on top of each other. Right now we have dry camping with outdoor honey buckets. We are wanting something that you can clear your mind, camp In peace. We also offer wood for SALE and all of our sites have wood burning areas. We also have ice and delivery services. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access. There is talk about sites at the river, we have some in their premature stage. This is NOT offered through our Hip Camp site!!!!! There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. In the coming years I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river ACCESS too!! The off grid hot tub was unique and well worth the extra fee! Gary was so attentive and welcoming! Even though I came during a rainy time, the land was beautiful and whimsical. The staff there were all so accommodating and helped with anything I needed (firewood, the hot tub, heaters). The community kitchen was sooo much fun to use and the shower was amazing! It was fun to walk around and see the bunnies and chickens as well as see how hard the staff work to create more fun amenities for the future. Gary mills the wood himself and you can see how all of the structures are such a labor of love!

This was a lovely place to camp with an incredible view! Level parking for our 25 foot trailer. There is some slight highway 101 noise, but nothing that would keep us from returning. It was a misty weekend, so we hunkered in most of the time. The clouds amongst the trees made for a beautiful view. We enjoyed going into the very small town to the Tipsy Whale for nice cider and beers. Mostly, we toured around and enjoyed the sea lions, seals, and many birds.

Where to go

Capitol State Forest

Located between Aberdeen and Olympia, this forest is known for its recreation opportunities, with 150 miles of nature trails and seasonal campgrounds, some of which have corrals for people who want to bring their horses along. Popular activities here include mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, and off-road vehicle driving.

Olympic National Park

Aberdeen is sometimes positioned as the gateway to the Olympic National Park, which encompasses much of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. Encompassing nearly a million acres of protected land, this park is best known for its ecological variety, from the mystical Hoh Rain Forest, which protects majestic old-growth trees, to Sol Duc Hot Springs, a popular spot to soak away your aches and pains.

Westport Light State Park

Encompassing 560 acres, and only a half-hour drive from Aberdeen, the day-use-only Westport Light State Park is a fan favorite among surfers, offering fantastic winter surf conditions. The park has two beaches, a paved boardwalk, and picnic tables galore, but many visitors come to check out the state's largest lighthouse—Grays Harbor Lighthouse—which is situated right inside the park.

When to go

Aberdeen is not exactly known for its weather, and it’s wise to expect cooler temperatures and lots of rainfall no matter when you visit. With that in mind, the best months to visit are in July and August, when temperatures typically reach the upper 60s and rainfall and cloudy days are limited to a couple of days a year. Winters are cold, but rarely freezing, and get tons of rainfall, typical to the Pacific Northwest.
