We are a Nature Retreat bordering Nature Conservancy land along a tributary and up and down the Rappahannock River. You can hike along the stream down to the river and up and down the river. You can fish and float the river. There are no trails so a moderate level of fitness and comfort in the forest is needed. You can follow the water ways but it is wilderness. Camping there is primitive but available or you can camp or glamp at Earthwalk Ways Retreat. We are also adjacent to a 50 acre farm on the other side of the creek that is available for hiking. There is a reservoir nearby as well. We are in the midst of the suburbs not far from Fredericksburg, which has some great historic and community places of interest. Our facilities are private and we only rent to one or 2 guests at a time. You can glamp in a trailer, or car camp in a nice campground with power and water or you can go primitive and pack in. All spaces include access to our classical 11 circuit labyrinth and backyard gardens where you can enjoy zen rock garden and other contemplative nature crafts. There are some great extra's here as well including an outdoor jacuzzi and indoor infrared sauna and massage chair. These spa features are another great way to get your zen on here. I offer Forest Bathing and individual retreat support sessions, an quarterly sweat lodge and also vision quest support if people would like to experience a solo nature immersion feast.

Simple family friendly and family run campground with all the needed resources. We don’t use any of the resources of the full fledged resort campgrounds. But Busch Gardens is just a few miles away if that is what you want. We stayed two extra days to better explore Colonial Williamsburg and the other historical sites - our main goals for this stay.

Darlene's land was a perfect hip camp. Usually my dogs and I hit the hay at nightfall, but Darlene's camp has an electric pole with a light, a screened tent with a table and chair, and an extra electric plug (recharge phones) - it was private and serene - plus Darlene was a FANTASTIC communicator, who meets you there to show you how the compostable toilet works, where to get firewood, etc. - then leaves you your privacy. Only a small disclaimer for travelers with dogs, IF you have a reactive dog (as one of mine is) there is quite a bit of wildlife noise in the woods. Highly recommend this hipcamp.

I had a beautiful experience here. Darlene was so generous with her flexibility and understanding of my circumstances. I came here looking for a bit of healing and quiet. I stayed under the gazebo and enjoyed the spa twice! The property is so lovely and magical. I felt held by the trees and Darlene even helped guide me through some of the strong emotions I was experiencing. Such a beautiful experience. I will be back soon.

Weekend Trip to Peace Hill Farm

The site was quiet and beautiful. We really enjoyed walking the farm and seeing the animals. I caught my first Bluegill in the lovely fishing pond. I would definitely recommend Peace Hill Farm if you’re looking for peace and quiet in a rustic rural setting.

One of the possible camp sites at the main campground. This is in the middle of the loop in the road at the end. There are other sites on either side and a trailer situated just below. There is a primitive camp shower and compost toilet available for campers. Please make sure you get instructions before using. or you can also rent the trailer for the perfect larger gathering. This bathhouse capacity is for only a few people so for larger groups you need to rent trailer or supply duty bags until I can get a portapotty in.

Such a well-maintained campground! The staff were super friendly and I just kept being so impressed by how clean everything was. Every single time I went into the bathroom, day or night, it looked as if it had just been wiped down. The pool was nicely warm and relaxing, and even though I didn't travel with kids, I think it's great that they had a playground and all kinds of different activities for them. I don't usually look for electric hook up when I travel, but this was a nice luxury this time. Would definitely stay here again!

Just needed to park my car and sleep in it and this was easy to come and go. Several amenities but I didn’t use the firepit or even walk the property. Spacious and was mostly unbothered my whole stay. Thanks for being accommodating.

I’M COMING BACK! I went for a spontaneous solo trip with my dog on a Saturday and stayed 24 hours and LOVED every minute of it. Love that I could check in at 2p and leave by 3p (instead of being rushed out at noon). The creek was low (Sept) but it didn’t stop me from getting wet and exploring the unique little pools of aquatic life and sun bathing on the rocks. Sooooo much to explore and take in! I had ENTIRE campsite to myself and it was AMAAAAZING! You could feel the love and good energy of this place. It’s nature pristine and untouched. PLEASE if you visit, let’s keep it this way! If you love raw forest nature then this is for you! It’s shocking that this place exists 1.5 miles from where I live and be so peaceful and secluded. The little trails leading to gazebo and around it are so well maintained that I walked barefoot the entire time. Bring good boulder climbing shoes to explore creek😉 and be smart and bring your first aid when you go because you will be pretty off road and if you have T-Mobile like me (no network service😂). There is electric in gazebo with a fan and lights. There is also a smokeless firepit for inside gazebo at night which was GREAT!! Your in forest with large canopy so you’ll see sun but it’s cooler so keep in mind when packing. Slept great in the hammock and Darlene does have netting up on the sides (winner!). Hardly ANY mosquitos (and they love me and I came prepared!) but bugs in general are minimal considering where you are. LOVED IT! 😍

Weekend Trip to Anvil Campground

Anvil is a smaller but very friendly campground that had everything we needed. The site was level and the hookups were easy to manage. Though we didn’t get a chance to use the bathrooms they looked really nice. It’s also close to all the attractions in Williamsburg and really enjoyed taking our dogs to walk the colonial area. We’d stay here again for sure! (Yes, there’s a train that’s really close but it didn’t put a damper on our fun)

We had a lovely time in the forest gazebo. Darlene was very welcoming and gave us a tour. We were later than expected and she was flexible. The site had electricity and Darlene brought us down some water. There was a pump available where we parked the car. The site was about a 100 yards from the parking and Darlene offered to move our luggage down with her golf cart but we just walked. It was on a hill. We did end up sleeping in the gazebo without our tent and it was colder than expected. I think that the tent keeps in some warm and the circulating air under the gazebo loses some warm. Just to note for your packing! There was space to put up the tent below the gazebo.
