The Guinea farm is 18 acres of field and forest on the rural middle peninsula. Only 1 mile from 2 separate secluded dog friendly beaches and a boat launch. There is very little traffic or light pollution here, nature is at your fingertips. Come visit the farm and experience agritourism at it's finest. Pick your own veggies in the community garden and meet the Guinea fowl! Enjoy the wilderness and learn about the local ecosystem here on the middle peninsula. There are 3 sites spaced out across the 18 acres set apart for privacy. Wisteria Treehouse site closer to the entrance gate. Trilogy Micro Cabinz is in the pines 700' beyond that and separated by dense forest. Stargazer Tiny cabin is an off grid rustic camping cabin on the back side of the property. Each site is surrounded by several acres of forest and close to the edge of a large field. There are roaming guinea fowl that may come make a very loud appearance as they canvas the property eating bugs. Deer, Turkeys, Bald Eagles, foxes, and other wildlife are common guests also. Mid-summer is what I call frog season, Tree frogs are abundant and provide a wonderful soundtrack. There is an axe throwing board and cornhole boards available. 4 miles from shopping and dining in Mathews Virginia, 15 miles to Gwynn Island. Gwynn's Island is an island located in the Chesapeake Bay off of Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The island is located in the northeast part of Mathews County, south of the mouth of the Piankatank River. It is connected to the rest of the county by a swing bridge over Milford Haven.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful farmhouse! The property feels like a little piece of magic, with a gorgeous lake, horses, goats, chickens, and the sweetest dogs. There were hummingbirds everywhere, which made the whole experience feel even more peaceful and special. Maria is a wonderful host and such a lovely person. She made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and truly added to the warmth of the experience. Our two dogs had an absolute blast and loved exploring the property. Incredible place to stay, rained everyday we were there and still managed to keep 2 young kids entertained. Ian was incredibly helpful, woke up with a flat my first day and he was willing to do whatever to help. Haven beach is the perfect spot only a couple minute drive away. Even with the treehouse, WiFi, and projector my kids favorite part was getting to see and hold Ian’s chickens. Grateful of my time here would love to come back.

Had a great time with my kids at the stargazer mini cabin. I used to be an avid tent camper before kids and this has a nice blend of being outdoors while still having your basic amenities. I only stayed one night but we were able to enjoy all the classics like hotdogs and s’mores over an open fire but then could go inside and watch a movie on the projector. Took a peak at the other sites as well and may try to come back this fall. Also the host was great, simple instructions and very responsive.

4 nights at Little Rustic Cabin Near Onancock

I had a wonderful stay at this little cabin outside Onancock with my French Bulldog. It's a great pick for a solo trip or a couple's getaway. The decor is chic and genuinely tasteful. Comfortable bed and couch, great lighting, and the AC kept up easily during a heat wave that lasted the entire stay. The space is small but laid out well, easy for one person and a small dog to move around comfortably. Mona was a fantastic host: great communication, useful local tips, and friendly check-ins--never intrusive. The porch and yard were easy to use with my dog. The street doesn't have sidewalks, so walks right outside aren't ideal, though traffic is light. The grounds themselves gave her plenty of room to get exercise. Onancock is a cute, friendly small town. It was hot the whole time and I had a dog with me, so I didn't explore too much, but the town is very walkable for dogs, and Foggy Place Cafe was happy to let my dog come inside, which I appreciated. Kitchen has cookware, a hot plate, and a microwave, all great to have. Fridge and freezer worked well too. Pantry basics were limited, so plan to stop at a grocery store on your way in. I brought my own pour-over setup and didn't try the coffee maker, but it looked fine. Wifi was strong (easy to stream), the place was quiet, and sleeping was great. No real issues to report.

We had a great time at the tree house! Our three kids are already asking to go back. Ian was responsive and helpful with anything that came up. Haven beach was so close and the perfect family beach, especially for littles. The swings under the treehouse were a huge hit. When we go back we’ll add an extra rechargeable fan and folding table to the packing list. They’re provided, we just wanted one more of each. Looking forward to another trip sooner than later!
