HORSES WELCOME!  Why not run your horse on the beach, then come to our campsites to relax for the rest of your day.  There is a fenced pasture positioned next to the sites so you can see your faithful friend enjoying some grass or hay.  We have a new Zinger 29' trailer set up with a bunk room and another bedroom, full kitchen and bathroom.  It can easily sleep six people.  If you have your own RV, we have a full hook up at the same area.  The pasture where your horse stays will also have hay, water and shelter with a run-in.  This is a sanctuary for our animals.  We have nine animals here, four horses (some minnies) and five donkeys (some minnies).  By staying here, you will be helping us to support our animals.  We are in Frankford, De which is close to all the beaches and parks.  There are many shopping adventures awaiting you, either outlets or upcycle stores.  If you just want to relax, there is a small pond out back stocked with bass and turtles.  We have 17+ acres but we only use the front five acres and leave the rest for the deer, foxes, eagles, hawks and whatever else shows up.  We believe this is Heaven on earth and would love to share it will you.  So please come, stay at our farm and relax.  We are here year round.

You will also be able to see (but not touch) the turkeys, a mini pig, and an alpaca close by! 4. What other rentals are at the ranch? There is a tiny house, two bell tent yurts, mini-cabins and an entire Old West Village. YES! You can have friends and family rent other units and make this a group experience. You can also see all of our listings if you click our name (logo.) 5. What's the history of the ranch? The property is a horse stable and animal rescue for two decades. Local students take weekly horse lessons here and the public books guided educational tours and other activities. The ranch also produces a small amount of alpaca fiber and sheep wool that's sold yearly. 6. Can friends and family visit me while I'm at the ranch? No. The only people permitted to enter the property are registered guests. The public cannot access the property and we have a coded entrance gate. As a guest, you can expect to see other guests here, not people walking in off the street. 7. Can I catch a UBER or LYFT? Yes! You can easily catch a ride to Ocean City, Maryland, or beyond. You'll need to be picked up at the entrance gate, not at the barndominium. How about food delivery? Yes! Order Doordash or pizza delivery. Just plan to meet your driver at the entrance gate, not the barndominium. 8. Is there an option for early check-ins and late check-outs? No. Because this property has multiple rentals and cleanings, we do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs. 9. Are activities for children a different price than adults? All of our on-site activities are the same price for everyone. 10. Can I bring my pet or service animals? No. We do not allow any guest animals or pets to stay with us due to regulations and safety issues. We are also service animal exempt due to safety issues with nearby guardian livestock. 11. What is the smoking/ vaping policy? We operate a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy at all times inside all of our rentals. The Swedish Cowboy space is located inside a barn and smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited while inside the barn house or directly outside. The best place to smoke is by walking down the driveway or inside your car (away from the stable.) 12. How secure is the ranch? The property has six outdoor security cameras running and in use at all times. These outdoor security cameras help protect humans and animals alike. There's a coded entrance gate upon your arrival to the ranch and there is on-site management that is available during your stay. You cannot enter the property without a code and we ask that you do not give it out while you're here. 13. This home sleeps 4 guests *including* babies and children. Have more than 4? Add 5th, and 6th guests for $25.00 for each additional person for your stay. We do not accommodate more than 6 guests max. 14. What are the checkout procedures? We have a 5-step checkout process and ask that our guests leave the barn house the way they found it, (neat and tidy.) We love to brag about super clean guests who leave our home well cared for.

This was my families second time staying here. The cabins are simple, cozy and very well kept, and it is the perfect spot to unwind and relax. My kids especially love the goats that roam around, and the tripple bunk beds :) It is a short drive to the beach and surrounding tourist spots. The owners are very helpful and communicative, and you can easily see how much heart they pour into this property. We are looking forward to our next visit.

1 night at Woodland Retreat Near The Beach

Woodland retreat was easy to find, private, and beautifully maintained. Everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided. I chose a spot for proximity to the beach, but soon realized that it is its own destination. I was sad that I didn’t plan a longer trip. I’m did yoga in the sun sunbathed made art and slept comfortably. There was a morning rainstorm and everything stayed dry and cozy. Stellar star gazing too! 10/10 would return.

My partner and I highly recommend this camp site! We rented the Zinger RV and it was awesome! We always wanted to stay in an RV and now want one of our own! It was spacious, clean and comfortable. It is a step up from glamping! Marian & Mike are so welcoming and kind. They made sure we were comfortable and we really appreciate the flexible check-in/out time. We really enjoy walking the farm and visiting the horses, mules and donkeys that they help rescue! What a compassionate endeavor! There are plenty to do nearby like visiting the botanical garden, vineyard and the beaches or you can just hangout at the site! We will return and thank you Marian&Mike for your warm hospitality and for all you do to help rescue the animals!

We really enjoyed cabin #2. There's nothing fancy, but that air conditioning worked great. It was super quiet especially at night. It's an older camp ground but we really liked it. We especially loved the fact that there was a fully functional blast from the past merry-go-round. This thing is painted like a strawberry to match the name of the farm. It spins as though it was installed just yesterday instead of maybe 40 years ago. It's a little dated, but we highly recommend it.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had a great time at Strawberry Crossroads! It’s very affordable and close to the beach, so it’s a great spot if you want to camp without spending a fortune. The lake was full of snapping turtles, fish, frogs, and plenty of other wildlife, which made it a lot of fun to explore. Best of all, there were almost no mosquitoes, which was a huge bonus. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful stay at this little cabin outside Onancock with my French Bulldog. It's a great pick for a solo trip or a couple's getaway. The decor is chic and genuinely tasteful. Comfortable bed and couch, great lighting, and the AC kept up easily during a heat wave that lasted the entire stay. The space is small but laid out well, easy for one person and a small dog to move around comfortably. Mona was a fantastic host: great communication, useful local tips, and friendly check-ins--never intrusive. The porch and yard were easy to use with my dog. The street doesn't have sidewalks, so walks right outside aren't ideal, though traffic is light. The grounds themselves gave her plenty of room to get exercise. Onancock is a cute, friendly small town. It was hot the whole time and I had a dog with me, so I didn't explore too much, but the town is very walkable for dogs, and Foggy Place Cafe was happy to let my dog come inside, which I appreciated. Kitchen has cookware, a hot plate, and a microwave, all great to have. Fridge and freezer worked well too. Pantry basics were limited, so plan to stop at a grocery store on your way in. I brought my own pour-over setup and didn't try the coffee maker, but it looked fine. Wifi was strong (easy to stream), the place was quiet, and sleeping was great. No real issues to report.

We had a great stay over July 4th weekend. The Barndominium overlooks the goats and chickens and other animals, so we had fun running out to feed them throughout the day while taking shelter in the beautiful air-conditioned 2 bedroom space during the brutal heat. It was easy to drive to Fenwick State Park beach for a morning run and Bethany Beach for the fireworks. 10 minutes away is a great grocery store and pizza restaurant.
