My group loved our stay at Heather’s farm. We originally had The Owl site reserved but Heather accommodated us with a bigger site due to our group size. The site we ended up at was wonderful with great views and so much space. The private dock was a plus! There was a lot to explore in the farm and we only scratched the surface. I loved camping here! The camp site was perfect. Great space. The water down by campsite B was perfect to float and sit on the rocks and enjoy the sun. My dog absolutely loved relaxing in the grass while we played yard games. The sunset on our first night was beautiful. We also drove to the falls about 15 minutes away and it was a great little hike. Overall this was an amazing experience and would recommend this to anyone

This was truly one of the most peaceful and enjoyable camping experiences I’ve ever had. The site was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with plenty of room to spread out and relax. We were surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills, giving the perfect mix of nature and tranquility. Heather is an extremely gracious host, friendly and helpful, offering great local tips and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a great spot. Accurate to the listing. Property is right off a rural road so there's a bit of traffic but barely noticeable. Nelson has set up a dog tent for us as we were traveling with our puppy. There's 2 picnic tables, both with shade. The folding chairs are pretty nice. We enjoyed the river, the outdoor shower. We had the whole place to ourselves so it was pretty great. I would definitely go back again.

Heathers land was so relaxing and beautiful. The perfect place to set up a tent, and chill out while the dog plays ALL DAY. The oak tree site is super secluded and offers insane views of the mountains and surrounding farmland. There is a great farm stand right next to Heathers home, and whatever she can’t provide you herself - she will direct you where to get it! Truly an amazing stay, we will 1000% be coming back.

Many thanks to Nelson for this exceptional stay. Everything is thoughtfully arranged to ensure the comfort of guests. We truly appreciated your kindness and warm hospitality throughout our visit. We had the chance to camp on both sites, A and B. The first is spacious, while the second is more intimate, offering shade and the soothing presence of the nearby river. Although there are two roads nearby, we can assure you that peace and quiet prevail. You'll enjoy deep, restful sleep. We highly recommend the experience at Nelson’s. It’s rare to find a campsite with such a high level of quality !

The time spent camping here was wonderful! Very secluded, next to a large open field with views of the mountains. The dogs had lots of space to run around and play, and loved walking us down the 30 or so ft to the clear trout stream to go swim.

Loved the campsite! We stayed at site 3 and really enjoyed the privacy and spaciousness. There wasn't a great access point to the creek at this site because the grass was so overgrown, but we were able to find a clear path by site 1 before the people camping there that night arrived. Overall, would recommend and would come back to Peter's land if I'm ever in the area again!

This was our second time staying on Peter’s land, we stayed in the fall last time so it was our first summer trip! It was just as perfect as the first time! It is such a peaceful place to be with plenty of privacy and things to do in the area. I highly recommend and will absolutely be back.

Weekend Trip to Wooded Farm Land

We had a blast camping on Linas property! The view from our campsite was something out of an oil painting - truly gorgeous. There was a lot of trails to explore as well. The convenience to downtown Woodstock was an added bonus, despite having a very private campsite. There were overnight thunderstorms in the forecast so we were able to bring our car right up to the site for easy access to gear and for protection from the storm. Luckily it wasn’t bad and we hunkered down in the tents until the storm passed. The dogs had a blast exploring the property as well. Would love to book again in the future - thank you Lina for your hospitality!

Metta Earth Farm Stay

Metta Earth Institute (MEI) is a non-profit educational retreat center in Lincoln, Vermont. With 158 beautiful acres, we are nestled in a bowl of mountains with stunning mountain views in all directions. Meadows, pastureland, and horticultural fields are interspersed with hardwood and evergreen forest, old orchards, stonewalls, seasonal streams, and an enormous variety of wildlife habitat. Walking and hiking places abound, and a magnificent, pure river with clear pools and waterfalls is just a few minutes’ walk down the road. MEI is based on a small-scale diversified, organic, and biodynamically oriented farm with an acre-sized retreat garden and other herb and flower gardens, and 2 food producing greenhouses. We practice regenerative agriculture, carbon farming, and many other environmentally sustainable practices. Main House Front Porch The front porch of the main house has continued to be a wonderful gathering place with outstanding sunset views and surrounding terraced gardens with blossoms and berries that attract hummingbirds and bees. We serve meals from the adjoining big kitchen, and these can be enjoyed on the porch or taken on trays to the nearby Plum Grove, other outdoor settings. The porch is a great place to meet with others or enjoy a place to sit and read. There is also a good internet connection on the porch and a place to charge devices. You are welcome to walk anywhere on Metta Earth land. Or you may want to walk on the surrounding dirt roads, all with very minimal cars and great mountain views or along the river. We can give further directions and information about the region when you are here. Our stays range from basic tent sites to Yurts and Canvas Tents. We have something for everyone. We have four yurts nestled on a knoll among maples, beeches, balsam, and other trees. They each are positioned for a sense of privacy from the others and have little paths connecting them. They all are well loved and humble, beautiful, light filled circular spaces with a round dome skylight, lattice siding, windows with screens for summer use and in winter extra insulation provided by window quilts. Each yurt has a wood stove for colder weather. The yurts are furnished simply with various configurations of single and double beds, tables, chairs, shelving, and sheepskins or other floor rugs. At night a few of the paths are lit with solar lamps, so it is wise to bring a flashlight/headlamp as well. Beeswax candles provide inside night lighting. Some of the yurts have string, solar lights around the inside of the yurt walls. We have 5 bell tents that are lovely, roundish shaped tents with a peak. Four of them are smaller, one-person tents, and one is larger for a couple or 2 people. We provide amattress and pillow with organic bedding and a sheepskin rug, and a simple storage crate/table. It’s a good idea to bring a sleeping bag for extra warmth, especially in the potentially colder shoulder seasons in May and in September. If you have a tent, insulated ground mat, and sleeping gear, we have many inspiring sites in the surrounding forest glades, meadows, and fields. Those who choose to camp have access to outdoor composting toilets, a hot water outside faucet for bucket bathing, and outdoor shower available in the warmer seasons. Camping requires a certain hardiness and adequate gear. Weather during the growing season (May – October) in the mountains of Vermont is unpredictable. Temperatures range from freezing temperatures at night in the spring and fall to gloriously warm days and even hot days.

Site 1 (with entrance 70 yards south of the farmhouse) is best for camping in with up to 20 foot trailers or multiple tents …on the large flat spaces in the 25 acre field to choose from. Great Well water available near farmhouse. Biodegradable soaps Only if used in the ponds. Double Olympic sized Swim Pond we stock with Rainbow Trout to keep clear. We have been advised Not to allow imported firewood (can import Wood Beetle dangerous for our forest). - PLEASE use the Firewood bundle tubs we provide ($12.50) - pick up at the farmhouse or pull wood from the woods (and make it safer for use). Beautiful and plenty of wildlife nearby... as well as Outhouses are marked on Map we provide with solar lights marking them at night. Do Not Leave food out when camping or away from site. Bears are rarely seen but it is wild country. Sites have locking garbage lids. Unique and lovely as well as being next to trails and roads to miles of remote spots with very few if any ... people. In Winter we request only AWD vehicles go down to this site or park up by farmhouse and hike in so you can easily get out. When wet park up by the road if you have 2 wheel drive. Learn more about this land: We have two sites on our historic Vermont trout farm. The first site sits near our post and beam "run in" horse barn. It's a very flat site with easy road access and has 30 AMP electric service and we can provide potable water to fill up your tank. The second site sits a little further back (also very easy access) and closer to Quation Brook. It is better suited for boondocking as it is a little ways from the 30 AMP outlets. Again water is available. Our farm is very rural but close (2 miles) to interstate 89 with a well stocked country store in town. It's a quiet setting near the gardens and a small stream. We are a small hobby farm that grows and sells produce to local coops. We also produce and sell Vermont maple syrup and salsa.

We will provide your first fire set up after that we offer fire wood at a small fee to abide by all state laws.
