We are at the top of Raccoon Hill. Overlooking a valley with Punch Brook at the bottom. You can see Belknap Mountain across the way. There are many trails nearby. The state snowmobile trails run nearby with access at the power lines that cross Raccoon Hill, Great for hiking, biking in the summer. And snowmobiling in the winter. State rail trail is nearby also (bottom of Raccoon Hill and rt 11) Giving access to the entire state! Highland Lake is a few miles away. Webster Lake is a bit further down the road. Fishing ponds are all over the area. Ragged mountain is 20 minutes from here. The mountain biking park in Northfield is about 20 minutes away. Black Bear Vineyard is a few miles away. Enjoy our 73 acres in peace. Our site has a well you can use to fill up your tanks, we recommend using an in-line filter as the water is not tested. We recommend using it for showers and toilets. 2 50amp hook ups. And septic hook ups.

Our property is 85 very private acres with an open field surrounded by forest and open wooded area with many trails. The forest is very diverse including some old growth maples and birches, as well as hemlock and pine trees. The campsites are at the edge of the field set back into the woods. I have recently added sand and gravel to improve drainage since the heavy rain we have had last year. We have a portable composting toilet outhouse and a hot outdoor shower. Feel free to explore all of the trails on foot or mountain bike. You may see some turkeys or deer out there. There is a small pond with lots of frogs and salamanders near the camping area, and a few seasonal streams on the property. You can hike a one mile loop on our newest trail. It is medium difficulty because of the hillside it is built on so hiking boots are recommended unless you are on a mountain bike. Rock walls built in the mid 1800s circle the property almost entirely so the borders are easy to see.
The Deerfield river is a few miles away where you can fish for trout or go for a swim or kayak. The Connecticut river and the green river are about 15 minutes away as well. We have tubes, a canoe, and a kayak that are available to rent for some floating! Historic Deerfield village and Yankee Candle store and factory are about 10 minutes away. We are about 20 minutes from Northampton and Amherst.

Slate Valley Trails and Merck Forest are close by. Places to picnic, enjoy the sunset, and idle are a plenty. Our farm stand is stocked with seasonal produce, jams, eggs, and bagged ice. Spring water is available. Excellent locally burgers, steaks, chicken and more are available as pre-order EXTRAS.

Directions to the property were clear. The site was clean, flat, private, and peaceful. Although we didn’t use the firepit, everything was there. The outdoor shower had perfect temperature and pressure. Willis was friendly, met us upon arrival, and made sure we had everything we needed.

My family (7 year old daughter, husband and dog) had the most wonderful time tent camping at the Hops site on Heather and Paul's beautiful farm. It's such a special, expansive place with so many cool spots to hike to within the farm that we didn't feel like we needed to leave the property. We loved the peace and privacy of the Hops site but next time we'd like to try to Oak tree site which has stunning views. My daughter loved drinking directly from the spring behind Heather's house, and visiting the pergola near dusk. The highland cows against the backdrop of rolling hills and the beautiful slate structures look like paintings. I'd definitely recommend taking the tour of the property to orient yourself. Heather is a lovely person and a knowledgeable and engaging host.

We had a fantastic time here. The property is sprawling and beautiful, and the Hops site had great amenities—ample firewood on request, a great firepit and chairs, and a clean outhouse. Heather was an excellent host, ensuring we had everything we might need for our stay. Highly recommended!

Wonderful hosts. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night and did not have a chance to explore. It is a great spot. There is a road that goes along the campsite that is surprisingly busy. Nothing crazy, but unexpected. We will be back when traveling in the area.

Heather provided us with the perfect getaway weekend! Her farm is so beautiful and she is a wonderful hostess! The Hops site was very private and peaceful. The outdoor seating and firepit made it so easy to relax and enjoy the fall evenings. The hiking trails that they have made are great to explore. We also took advantage of the outdoor shower which was such a nice experience. Even the outhouse was comfortable and meticulously maintained, and this is coming from someone who normally tries to avoid them. Last and certainly not least, we are still enjoying some of the home-grown/homemade treats from her farm stand, and cannot wait to return to Slateville. Thank you to Heather and Paul for such a great weekend!

Our family had a wonderful time setting up a “village” (3 tents) on this property. We made the trip from New York City specifically because Willis promised unlimited firewood and we sure took advantage! He was super kind and accommodating. If you’re looking for the feeling of deep- woods camping, this isn’t it; you definitely have the feeling of being on someone’s property, especially because you’re using their awesome hot outdoor shower. This was my second visit to Heather's farm and I look forward to returning again. The property is gorgeous. The sites are very large, private, and far enough apart that you will not see or hear other campers. My dog and I loved being able to walk all the roads and trails that criss-cross the property right from our campsite. On my first visit I was there in October and the fall foliage was just incredible. The farm is close enough to town so that everything you could need is within easy reach, but far enough to feel quiet and remote. I am already looking forward to our next visit!

Beautiful scenery and setup spots. I don’t think my dogs had ever had so much private space to just wander before. They loved that. Host is super responsive. This was my first time needing to prime a well. Host came and did a quick impromptu lesson on priming. And I learned something new. You can hear/see vehicles going by a bit but it didn’t bother me. Would stay again for sure.

It was peaceful, and felt very private. We traveled to see a show at Treehouse Brewery and enjoyed being so close! There are lots of hiking trails nearby, including a trail right on the property. The site was big enough for our tent and an additional EZ up.
