Red Desert RV Park has expanded to 55 full hookup RV sites along with 14 cabins. We are geared towards outdoor adventurists and sightseers wanting a cost-effective stay while taking advantage of everything Moab has to offer!
We are locally owned by a family of 8 and love calling Moab our home. We understand the corporate overtaking that Moab has had in the last 5 years and plan to keep our campground affordably priced and locally owned. We have upgraded the old site plan from 7 RV sites to 55 Full Service RV sites this year. Most sites are pull through but we will have some back-ins. Our new bathhouse has a laundry, women's bathrooms and showers, men's bathrooms and showers, and an ADA compliant family style bathroom.
In addition to the new bathhouse, we have a new office and retail store where we sell souvenirs, RV supplies, snacks, drinks, ice, firewood, and other necessities for guests. We do not currently have propane fill on site.
We know that there are many options to choose from when it comes to staying in Moab. We urge people to support locally owned businesses that help Moab grow and solve problems that exist in our community. Moab is a recreation mecca with something for everyone and our little campground on the south end of the valley puts you within minutes of town, the mountains, and the red deserts around Moab.

We are a husband-and-wife team that purchased raw land in 2020 and have been building Glamping Canyonlands ever since. We privately own and operate a sustainable off grid property. We proudly run our business off solar power. We have a recycling and compost program along with happy pasture raised chickens and free range kittens. We work to reduce waste by supporting businesses that focus on the environment, health and using non-plastic products where we can. We use simple, clean, natural cleaning products. We do not use single use plastic and provide washable cotton paper towels and hand towels. We work with locals to bring you tours, pastries, breads and hand crafted souvenirs for you to remember your trip.
We have a mix of different unique units so there is something for everyone. 3 bell tents, 1 stargazing lotus tent, 1 safari tent, cedar pod, moon stargazing barrel, solar powered casita and an unfurnished high rise tent. We have 22 acres and we are currently using around 5 acres. We like to space out our units so there is privacy at every units.
We have a communal kitchen that is equipped to make some gourmet meals. Flat top grill, BBQ Box, pizza oven and a stove.
Communal modern bathrooms with hand towels and bath supplies are available.
Sauna is available to our guests along with coffee and breakfast delivery.
Late check-ins are available.
Located on private and rural land 40 mins South of Moab and 40 mins from the entrance of The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park (the hikers paradise park!)
Our land borders Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands and State Trust Lands which means you have a panoramic view of the desert landscape and dark skies.
We are surrounded by Dark Sky National Parks, State Park, Monuments and communities. Because of this, light population is almost non-existent.
We built this place to be an escape or a place to unwind from our busy and loud daily lives. Embrace the break from the daily grind and find space here on the open desert.
We opened to our first guests in October 2020 with only 3 bell tents, 1 bathroom and a kitchen inside a tent. Even though we have grown and improved the facilities, we are still a small husband and wife owned and run business. You will see us working and cleaning.

What we offer: In addition to an exceptional view of the mountain, our place is clean, spacious, orderly, quiet, inexpensive, with super fast and stable WiFi. What we don’t offer: fancy landscaping or restrooms.
The Adventure Haven feels open, public and safe to most people. Funky and rural, in high pristine desert with a sweet view of the mountain is the overall vibe. Hours can go by with no traffic noise. This is in contrast to the constant drone of traffic noise in Moab. We are also about ten degrees cooler than Moab with nights cooling off even more; what a relief!
The Adventure Haven is a five site mini-RV park located in an old and somewhat derelict subdivision in a small town on a 1.5 acre lot. A uranium boom town in the 1950's, La Sal is now a shadow of past times (and littered with artifact trailers and structures). But we are in beautiful high desert country and we are at the foothills of the La Sal Mountains and the park has a completely unobstructed view of this range!
What kind of people LIKE it here? Those who like peace and quiet and dark skies. Relaxed full-time RVers, work-at-homes who need strong and fast WiFi, folks on a budget, those who like to support Hipcamp hosts, people looking for inside local information, solo travelers who want to feel safe yet not in a crowded place - like they’re near someone they know, and in a quiet, small town where unusual things are noticed.
What kind of people DON’T like it here? People expecting a resort, or a vast-pristine-remote property. Also people who are uncomfortable with rural eye-sores typical of rural Utah (old cars, and slow projects) will not like it here, nor will party people and special event groups (not allowed here).

Now that we’ve covered that, let’s talk about all of the fun you and your crew can have out here! The BLM asserts that this area has some of the “most spectacular landscapes in the United States,” and we’re totally inclined to agree. You’ll find Monticello tucked away into the southeast corner of Utah near the Abajo Mountains (BLM land surrounds the mountains). Archeology buffs will have endless fun exploring the remnants of Ancestral Puebloan life, including cliff dwellings and petroglyphs. Weekend Trip to Glamping Canyonlands
We have never glamped before staying at Glamping Canyonlands. What a great find through hipcamp! Close but not in the crowds to explore The Needles District. Erik and Keshie’s thoughtful touches and witty humor made the stay fantastic! They really have thought about all the small details needed for a great stay. The ability to cook over fire or use the community kitchen (thankful for the french press), the showers/toilets, hammocks with shaded picnic tables. The kitties and chickens were fun to see and was great reading about their story on how they built Glamping Canyonlands. Stargazing at night and quiet mornings. We can’t wait to come back and bring friends!

My sister and I loved camping at Glamping Canyonlands! The check-in and check-out process was so easy, the amenities were clean and easily accessible, and the overall environment was so peaceful. We will definitely be coming back!

RV park 15 mins south of Moab right off highway. Easy to access many trails and sights with a short drive. Full hook ups were great, and the bathrooms/shower house was clean (and an added bonus). It was a bit loud being right off of the highway, but otherwise we enjoyed our stay here

This was a fantastic place to stay. Roomy campsites even for our large toy hauler. Very quiet local with beautiful views of the La Sal mountains. The hosts James and Linda were very friendly and accommodating. 30 minutes from Moab, so away from all the commotion. Great place to stay

James and Linda were super friendly and available if needed. We got in easy (#3) with our 35' + tow. Ground was flat. W/S/G all good. Easy paved road there and nice gravel last block. RV Garmin took us to house next door but you can see RV park . You want quiet, this was it.

James and Linda’s land. The views of the La Sal Mountains were spectacular and the camping was peaceful and quiet. James and Linda were very kind hosts. They provided us with awesome suggestions of places to visit and for things to do. When we return to this area, we will definitely stay with them again!

Weekend Trip to Glamping Canyonlands
I absolutely love this place! The vibes and aesthetic of it are perfect; Keshia and Erik have beautiful taste. The place was immaculately clean - cleaner than some hotels, and this is an outdoor accommodation. The facilities were always available and very tidy, full of any supplies you could need. The sauna was such a highlight and easy to book. There were even kittens and chickens running around, which added so much to the experience. Our space felt very private while being close to the amenities. Keshia and Erik make it look easy running this place! 100% will be back!

Weekend Trip to Glamping Canyonlands
We had a wonderful time. This was our first time glamping and camping in general. Beautiful well kept property. Tents were super cute and spacious. The weather was perfect and we slept very comfortably at night, no heater needed. Loved the little details with signage and lighting. The kittens and chickens made the stay extra special. Awesome location close to the national parks we went to Canyon Lands and Arches. I would absolutely recommend!

Very clean restrooms and park. Laundry was a surprise though, had to run to town for quarters! We weren't on the road side and use white noise everywhere to sleep so we didn't mind the road noise.

Jim met us when we pulled in. Very warm welcome. The view of the southern end of the LaSal Mountains is great. Lots of area close by to explore and kept us in a nice, quiet spot when at the RV.
