Our private property is located near the historic square of glen rose but feels like you are miles away in the country. Have fun kayaking, swimming, fishing, or just sit back and enjoy the views. We have 5 different spacious sites to choose from. Most have a tree break area in-between for privacy. Or rent all 5 and have the entire property to yourself. Updated river photos will be posted on our Facebook page, or message me for updates. Unfortunately, I'm not able to control the river. It goes up and down depending on rain and temperatures. The river gets pretty low during July and August. Wheeler Branch Reservoir(only a few miles from camp) is a great spot to swim and fish when the river water levels are lower. Very small lake that is good for swimming and kayaking with a dock, clear waters. We have 5 different sites. All of them overlook the Paluxy River, have rock fire pits, seating areas, patios, and stairs down to riverbed. You will have access to one of the most beautiful parts of the Paluxy River. In order to reserve a spot you must be 21 or over. This is not extremely remote place where you can party and go crazy. We want everyone to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy the views. Site Big Pecan: This is the farthest site upriver and has one of the largest pecan trees I've ever seen. The trees provide great shade cover during the summer. This site has an awesome rock patio seating area with 2 wooden Adirondack chairs overlooking the river with stairs to provide easy access down into the water. It also has a rock firepit with 2 wooden Adirondack chairs on a rock patio. Also includes a kids sand box, and a picnic table with shade umbrella, and numerous extras available to rent. Site 1 Limestone ledge: Firepit seating area overlooking the river with 4 Adirondack chairs and a shade umbrella, separate rock patio closer to the water overlooking the river with 2 wooden rocking chairs, stairs down to riverbed, huge pecan trees, kids play set with sand box, 1 picnic table, shade umbrella, and a 10' x 10' raised tent deck platform overlooking the river. Site 2: Firepit seating area overlooking limestone riverbed with 3 Adirondack chairs, picnic table with a shade umbrella, 10' x 10' raised tent / deck platform, stairs down to riverbed and shallow area of the river for kids to play. Awesome view of the river with trees / shrubs on each side for privacy. Site 3: Firepit seating area overlooking the riverbed, 2 wooden Adirondack chairs, 2 picnic tables, 1 shade umbrella, 2 sets of rock stairs to the riverbed, shallow area of the river for kids to play. For example, many purchase Big Pecan and site 1 together. Or sites 2 and 3. kayaks, wood, outdoor games, frisbee golf baskets and disc, grill and utensils, propane firepit, and other extras available for rent. Please select those during checkout Tips: Bring river shoes, nose plugs, swimming essentials. Parts of the river can be very slippery. Bring life jackets, especially for children. Bring the essentials for any camping trip including: sunscreen, bug spray, anti-itch meds, etc. Chairs and sunshades to sit in the river are always popular. The Paluxy river ranges from just a few inches deep to 5 feet deep in our camping area. There are more swimming holes a little deeper up and downstream. Water is available at the entrance. No restroom - pack in, pack out. Bring your own potty and water. If you are not familiar with dry camping do some research. There are all types of methods for restrooms, heating, cooling, etc. available now to make it enjoyable. Dogs are allowed on leash. Please do not allow your dog to roam freely if they are aggressive in nature. Clean up after them. Cancellation Policy: You may cancel up to 3 days before your stay for a full refund. Weekend Trip to Coyote Creek Farm

We had a great time at Regena's place! It was our first trip with our youngster, so it was a bit of a trial run. Everything went great. Regena is close by and easy to get a hold of, but doesn't impede on you at the same time. She is a fantastic host- super nice and accommodating. Exactly the type of host you want. The location is outside of the city and is rural, but is also only a 12 minute drive to the grocery store for when you realize you forgot your coffee, like I did. There are some houses relatively close to the RV site, but all the properties have acreage, so the closest is about about a hundred yards away and is hidden behind trees, even in winter months when the trees aren't bloomed. Overall we enjoyed it very much and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

My family enjoyed this spot so much we came back for a second time this Fall. Stayed at Campsite 4 this time, it was bigger and felt more private. It’s super convenient to purchase wood from Paul so that it’s just waiting at your camp when you get there. This shallow section of the Paluxy is perfect for kids to either use a kayak or walk out into the river for a fun time.

We had a perfect time at campsite three. We were able to watch the World Series game while grilling dinner on the beautiful fire pit overlooking the river. I saw that another review noted the traffic noise. Yes, there is traffic on the road by the site, but for us it was no problem at all. This was our second visit here and we are already planning our trip back!

Weekend Trip to Pecans on the Paluxy - River Views

We absolutely adored this site. The host has gone above and beyond with the extras. Our site included a nice flagstone patio, comfy Adirondack chairs, and a great view of the river. There is a very large tent pad covered with gravel, which was flat and easy to put our tent up. Our site also included kayaks and a hammock. Our residential area is under a bun ban, so we drove the 5 hours north to enjoy 2 nights chatting around a big campfire. It was worth every second. There is moderate road noise, but its not a "busy" road as one review mentioned. Unfortunately for us, there was an all day baseball tournament nearby, so we spent the day listening to cheering (but that's likely just a seasonal thing). We will definitely be back, and next time bring some friends.

Beautiful spot on the river and camp sites are very well taken care of and spacious. The baseball/softball lights and shenanigans led to some later and earlier noise and light than desired but that was in the reviews and we knew what to expect with an easy to reach off the road place. Fishing was decent for the kids and all very accessible down the walkway and on the limestone ledge.

Weekend Trip to Big Rocks on the Brazos

We loved camping this weekend in our 5th wheel! Everything about it was fabulous. Becky is a great host. The only thing that was tricky for us, because we arrived after dark, was getting to the right road that lead into the property. When I called, they were very helpful and we slid right into spot #1. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we booked the site again and another spot for friends. I am definitely looking forward to our next adventure!

My Cub is only 21 ft, but deep sites for big rigs. Fairly level with shade.

3 nights at Big Rocks on the Brazos

Shaded sites all around for our 21 footers, yet nice and open grounds. Host was very communicative and available! Sites were deep for larger rigs. Pretty and peaceful setting with roads to walk down, and one can't beat the easy river access on a warm day. Full hookups too! Nice deep fire pits, but mine could've used some cleanup from previous campers. Nice mowed lots, but tons of leaves and some branches on the ground (to be expected this time of year on windy days). Nearby house to sites 3-4 was quiet and went unnoticed! Surprisingly, there's a bit of highway noise from miles away to the West/SW, but not enough to hinder a relaxing time. Plenty of picnic tables! I'm recommending and will return.

1 night at Rusty Acres

Well this was a very pleasant spot. Quiet and private. The site was gravel and nicely leveled. It had a fire pit, nice turf off the gravel pad and twinkle lights at night. The neighbors farm animals were just so cute. It has a brook also. Just lovely. The host was also so very nice. 😊 When we come through texas we eould love to stay again.

Weekend Trip to Bee Mountain River Resort

This is a great camping spot for families. The hosts made our stay easy and checked in each day with any updates and or to see if we needed anything. Being able to get firewood, kayaks, ice, and fresh water from the hosts was convenient. The views along the river are amazing. Cell coverage is limited, which we liked. Wildlife is present all around the property, the coolest being the owls, whose hoots would resonate and echo off the river. Speaking of the river, the water is very calm in front of the camp sites, with most allowing for pretty easy entry. Plan on bringing life jackets for kids. This is a camping spot we will definitely be returning to!

My family of three had a great time here. We were the only ones camping at RV sites and it was quiet all to ourselves. I also had a chance to fish for a bit and have caught a smallmouth and largemouth bass. I will be planning to come back in the future.

I enjoyed myself! Slept here for two nights. Its a big lot! Right next to the other two and separated by trees but still a big lot. Furniture is well kept. Replied to my messages promptly. Loved the river view. Saw Deer and fish as i walked the river. Theres a few baseball fields across the street and an adorable town right down the street with shops and restaurants.
