Hipcamp had a unique feel of being in the 70s again. We stayed the weekend and loved seeing the bluebonnets in full bloom. Very welcoming and relaxing. Glamping at its best.

2 nights at Liberty Hill Hideaway Lake Retreat

We loved staying at Barry’s! We spent two nights at the Barry’s essentials campsite that included a nice tent, air mattress, picnic table, fire pit, water and electricity. We had access to a shared indoor restroom and outdoor shower. The grounds are beautiful, and there was all of the firewood we could ever want! We spent our last night at the Doris “Glamper” and it was awesome! It was cute, had a private bathroom with sink, shower and toilet, a homey kitchen with cooking essentials, fridge, stove and microwave, and a nice sized living room. The air conditioners also worked great - and we didn’t need it, but there was also an electric fireplace that would be great on a cold night. The outside spaces all over the property are so welcoming and inviting, we loved the fun chairs and hammocks around the property, the beautiful plants and trees and artistic touches all over. The game room and crow’s nest were fun bonuses! Barry is so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed! He sang us a few songs by the fire on our last night and we enjoyed talking and sharing stories. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing time, whether in the primitive camping areas, glampers to the private rooms - there’s something for everyone!

An Unforgettable Stay at the Campsite!! Our stay at the campsite was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the serene beauty of nature, crisp fresh air, and the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The campsite was well-maintained, with clean facilities and spacious pitches that provided a great balance of privacy and community. The host Barry was so welcoming and we really had a good time near the main campfire with Barry playing the guitar….❤️❤️❤️❤️ The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking scenery—towering trees, a peaceful lake nearby, and stunning sunsets that painted the sky in vibrant colors. Evenings by the campfires are magical. ⛺️ 🔥 Overall, it was an incredible experience, and we left feeling refreshed and connected to nature. We can’t wait to return for another adventure!

3 nights at 🐮Tiny Town at GSD Ranch🐣 Unique

Our family came to the ranch for a quick getaway over the kids’ spring break and had the best time. The accommodations were terrific - super clean, all that we needed was provided, even some extra board games for the kids to play. The town of Hico was close and super charming. Kara, our host and her husband even met us one evening so that the kids could feed the animals and she was extremely helpful and responsive throughout our entire stay. Highly recommend!

3 nights at Hideout Ridge

I had an amazing time at tent site #4. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and very serene. I saw lots of butterflies and rabbits. I felt extremely safe as a solo female camper. I highly recommend this property and the camping experience it provides. Also, about 20 minutes out is a wonderful sandwich shop, The Garden of Eating.

1 night at Hideout Ridge

We LOVED this campsite everything was so well kept and neat. Site #3 where we stayed had so much space for us. We enjoyed walking along the trails and going down to the pond. We were the only ones there with all the peace and quiet. The restrooms are a bit far from the campsite but the walk is nice. Allison was great and was there if we needed her.

It was the perfect get-a-way! We drove from Dallas Tx so the drive was only 1 hour 30 mins. We camped for two nights to simply get an out doors experience for the weekend. We loved exploring the property and common areas. The place is super eclectic and will be on my list to go again.

2 nights at Hideout Ridge

Site #4 is the most secluded spot and its next to the pond which makes for a really great spot to camp. The whole property is peaceful but I think the real gem is the cedar bath house. After a few days of roughing it, it was really nice to take a good shower before heading home.

I've been meaning to visit Hideout Ridge for months and finally had a chance to enjoy it this past weekend. Our experience met all expectations and more! Hideout Ridge originally caught my eye for a few reasons: 1) spacious camping sites/more private (compared to a state park), 2) close proximity to DFW, 3) presence of nice/clean shower and bathroom, and 4) ability to enjoy being in nature via trails, water, etc. We arrived mid afternoon and were greeted by Allison and her husband who were extremely friendly and helpful. The property is well kept, our site was clean and perfect for our setup, the bathroom/shower was impressive, and being able to walk the trails/enjoy the pond was icing on the cake. We will definitely be back soon!

I loved staying at Barry's camper. My sister and I had such a wonderful and relaxing time. We instantly felt comfortable and at peace in such a unique and fun place. Barry was an absolutely wonderful host!

My wife and I were happy to find this place! This place was awesome! Quiet and peaceful for our one night stay! We woke well rested and our hot showers in the morning were wonderful! We were greeted by Allison upon arrival which was really nice. Well kept property and the bathhouse is a nice facility to freshen up! Would recommend! Also grab a dozen eggs while you’re there!

In total the property sits on 7.3 acres nestled in the heart of a small lakeside community. This campsite is the first in our campground, so guests will have private access to the entire ridgeline & hiking trails cut through the 7.3 acers into the creek bed below. There is plenty of space for additional tents if guests would like to bring additional campers. Just let us know and I will be happy to discuss all the options. SAFTEY NOTES: The terrain is rocky and can be quite steep in places with some drop offs. Not recommended for small children or pets that are not well trained. We also share the land with lots of wildlife! Please be aware at all times and keep an eye out for snakes & spiders! You may also hear wild boars in the creek bed at night. SITE AMENITES `This site includes a 10x14, Kodiak' canvas tent that will be completely set up with the essentials including Water & Electric, bed & linens & outdoor chairs. INSIDE ` Cozy up on a queen size mattress complete with all the necessary bedding (pillows, sheets &comforter). We like to keep it super cozy but simple inside to make sure there is plenty of space for guest's personal things. Guests will need to be self-contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. OUTSIDE ` A water spigot & electrical outlet are included at the campsite. A fire pit & firewood will also be provided (with the exception of any burn bans in effect) ACTIVITIES - Neighborhood Boat Ramp & access to Lake Whitney/Brazos River. Stargazing, birdwatching, & hiking the trails are a few things many of our guests enjoy the most. We also have access to a public boat ramp in the neighborhood. Guests will also have access to over 9000 aces of public hunting lands managed by the Army Corp. of Engineers. Meridian State Park & Lake Whitney State Park are each about a 30min drive.
